This month the majority of the astrological action for Twins will be in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and short journeys. If this sounds like fun it's largely because Gemini rules the Zodiacal 3rd House so these activities are some of your very favorite things. You hate being bored and move from one thing to another so quickly that this seldom happens you love a mental challenge and thrive on ideas and data. So fasten your seatbelt and see what's in store for August.

The New Moon in Leo kicks off the month, your aforementioned 3rd House, on August 1st. If your birthday falls within a day or two one way or the other of May 31, this will have even more influence. This New Moon is also a solar eclipse, which gives it a lot more punch than the usual New Moon, which typically means a new beginning of some sort that relates to the House in which it falls. When it's also an eclipse, the influence will last for approximately six months, until it culminates in the next Full Moon eclipse. A New Moon by definition is a Sun/Moon conjunction and when it's an eclipse that means they're also at the same declination, which is what gives it even more energy. This one is also conjoined with Mercury, your Sign Ruler, making it even more important for Gemini and Virgo types. Thus, this should initiate a new idea to develop or perhaps a flurry of neighborhood activity. Watch for it so you can get onboard with what the Universe has in store for you the next several months. Since this lunation throws a square to the asteroid, Vesta, there's a possibility that whatever this new idea may be could interfere with established rituals of service or spiritual renewal. This will present you with a challenge of how to balance both in your life. Knowing how busy Twins typically are, however, this should be no more than business as usual as far as fitting everything within the limitations of a 24 hour day.

From August 1 - 5, the Sun will linger in conjunction with Mercury, continuing to throw light on this planet that rules communications, data, and work. During this time you will undoubtedly find your mind going in many directions, many of which are new, though one particular idea or concept will probably keep returning to your conscious mind. During about this same time, Venus will oppose Neptune. Venus is a benefic planet who should shed further pleasantries upon your world of thought, but Neptune could throw a bit of a fog in there from your 9th House of beliefs, higher education, long distance travel, and legal matters. While Neptune can inspire, it can also make us too idealistic or even create illusions or delusions. Therefore, make sure that your idea is realistic enough that you won't be chasing rainbows, as fun as that may be once in a while. You probably don't want to waste the next six months going after something that simply won't happen, so make sure you sift out the chaff and only pursue those things that will ultimately bear fruit and satisfaction for all your hard work.

Also during this same time, Venus will trine Pluto. Combining this with the opposition to Neptune creates an aspect pattern known as a Triangle of Potential. Pluto is in your 7th House of relationships, which implies that you've been dealing with some ongoing issues in this area that haven't entirely been resolved. The trine with Venus should help things along as far as giving you some ideas and insights regarding what needs to be done. Pluto will be in a loose sextile to Neptune, which could inspire your core beliefs such that it provides an opportunity to make some headway with this relationships issue. Remember that relationships include not only your significant other but close friends and relatives as well as business associates, i.e. any one-on-one relationship with patronage in there as well, if this applies to your line of work. Pluto is the key here, which implies that a transformation of some type is required or that there is something that's been swept under the rug for too long that needs to be aired out. Give it some serious thought so you can identify if and how you've been holding yourself back in this area, then see what needs to be done to solve it once and for all.

Coincident with all this, plus some, from August 1 - 12, Mars will oppose Uranus. Mars is in your 4th House of home environment and Uranus in your 10th House of career and reputation, which implies a conflict between the two. Naturally this is pretty typical for those who have to work for a living while balancing family obligations. This aspect smells like something will come up unexpectedly at work that will cause some conflict on the home front, perhaps conflicting obligations, or a grumpy family member who's vying for some attention. If you can see it coming, do some damage control before the fact, which could possibly limit the explosion somewhat. About the time Mars is slipping away from this, he'll connect with Pluto, which looks like that grumpy family member or you will be digging up some old dirt over all this that you'll have to confront. During the same time, the Sun will oppose Neptune, who's certainly getting his share of the action this month. Now is a good time to take a good, hard look at your beliefs relative to home and family and make sure you're not being too idealistic or perhaps expecting too much from those around you. Remember that New Moon and see what you can do to start a new phase in your relationships that leaves old, self-defeating behaviors behind. Helping you with all this will be your buddy, Mercury, who will be in conjunction with Venus from August 13 - 31, with its peak influence on the 20th. This should bode very well for positive communications during this time which will help resolve any problems.

Right around this same time, on August 16, the Full Moon will take place in Aquarius, your 9th House of beliefs, higher education and so forth. The moon will be conjoined with Neptune, who's certainly getting his share of press this month. Again, make sure you're being realistic. Remember that inspiration and dreams are great as long as they don't distract us so much from reality that we wind up chasing rainbows. The Full Moon comes with a nice, stable Grand Earth Trine, which should herald the culmination of something that started about six months ago. There's a lot of positive energy in your 4th House of home environment and Jupiter is doing what he can to expand transform you in some way, though it will require some adjustments on your part. The final leg of the Grand Trine is the asteroid, Vesta, who's lurking in your 12th House. Remember that she was also involved with the New Moon and relates to rituals and service in a spiritual venue. However, this lunation is the culmination of something, implying that things will change, but it should give you a solid foundation that will prove beneficial in the days to come. This Grand Trine will be most influential for those born roughly between May 29 - June 5.

Right after the Full Moon, the Sun will trine Pluto, which will last from August 17 - 26. During this time the Sun will move from Leo into Virgo, in other words move from your House of thoughts and ideas to your House of home environment, which will shed some positive light upon that relationship stuff noted earlier. This won't be the end of it however, as from August 26 - 31, the Mercury/Venus couple will square Pluto. Communications should be friendly and positive, but there's going to be a crisis involving a relationship again, though it's important to remember again that this covers a lot of people and could be someone outside your household. From August 20 - 31 Jupiter will trine Saturn, which will expand your home responsibilities in some way. The second New Moon this month on the 30th is also in your 4th House, further indicating something new is developing at home. This won't be as powerful or long-lasting as that New Moon eclipse on the 1st, but will bring a new development of some sort your way nonetheless.

During this time a power struggle of some description is likely, and the women in particular are not going to yield, thanks to the influence of Lilith, who'll be uncomfortably close to Pluto during that time. She's basically the zodiacal bitch-button and there's a good chance that what's going on here is going to set that off, so brace yourself. When the Sun conjoins Saturn from August 29 - 31, this will further emphasize home responsibilities, though that can be very subjective, depending on whose knothole the view is coming from. I certainly can't determine how all this will play out for every Gemini under the Sun, but you can bet that there's going to be relationship and power issues going on somewhere in your life and whether home is the battlefront or you have the support of those there with the conflict out in the world is anyone's guess.

Obviously this is going to be a very busy month. You just had your solar return a few months ago and you're already starting into a new cycle with that, now this New Moon will inject more ideas and thoughts into your already busy mind. However, it looks as if home and relationship issues are going to throw a few stumbling blocks in your way, some of which have been around for a good, long time. Thus, if you want to move forward, you need to take the bull by the horns and get them resolved.
