This month the bulk of the astrological action lies in your 5th House of romance, children, creativity and speculation and your 6th House of work, health/fitness, and pets. This gets a kick-start on August 1st from the New Moon, which naturally occurs in Leo since that's where the Sun is and by definition a New Moon is a conjunction between the two. And this one is a true conjunction in that they're not only in the same degree but declination as well, making it a solar eclipse. Eclipses give it an extra punch as well, initiating something that will be in effect until it's closed out by the new Full Moon eclipse about six months from now. So whatever you get off the ground this month will be active for at least that length of time, after which it will either be completed or enter a new phase. Thus, if you've been waiting to start something that falls in your 5th House, now is an excellent time to do so. If your birthday falls between March 27 - April 3 the effects will be even stronger since the New Moon will trine your Natal Sun.

Mercury will also be snuggled up with the Sun between August 1 - 5. This will highlight communications and data gathering of all sorts, but make sure you don't let your ego get too inflated and become a turnoff to those you're trying to reach or impress. Let your message do that rather than purposing drawing the attention to yourself. Venus, Neptune, and Pluto are a configuration known as a Triangle of Potential from August 1 - 4 with a trine lingering between Venus and Pluto until the 8th. This combined two rather pleasant aspects, i.e. a sextile and a trine, though an opposition is also involved. Venus will be blessing your 5th House, which usually bodes quite nicely for pleasantries, of both the romantic and financial variety, and will be in a nice, harmonious trine with Pluto. We all tend to cringe when Pluto is mentioned, but what we need to remember is that Pluto may be all about losing something but he's also about regeneration and healing. He's also about unearthing hidden elements, which in this case lie in your 9th House of beliefs, academia, long distance travel, and legal matters. Thus, this aspect will combine these two energies in a harmonious way, bringing something to light about some old issue that will allow it to be resolved such that positive energy can take its place.

Pluto, in turn, will sextile Neptune, which will typically bring an opportunity your way. Neptune is all about inspiration and dreams, implying these will come into play with finding a solution or approach to resolving that old issue. All sounds pretty good so far, right? However, Neptune is also in opposition to Venus, which isn't necessarily quite as auspicious. Neptune can also be about delusions and a bit too much idealism. Since he's hanging out in your 11th House of friends, associations, organizations, as well as hopes and wishes, you need to make sure that you don't expect a little too much from all this and thus place it out of range of reality, thus setting yourself up for disappointment in the long run. Take it for what it's worth, enjoy it, but don't expect it to be a permanent panacea, unless it's something that is truly closed out for good.

During about this same time, from August 1 - 12, your Sign Ruler, Mars, will oppose Uranus. Mars will be in your 6th House of work and Uranus in your 12th House of inspiration, dreams, spirituality and hidden enemies. The house placements involved in this one imply someone will try to undermine your hard work and efforts in some manner. Also look out for your health and safety, as it could also make you a bit careless and accident prone. Watch your "six" and don't take any unnecessary chances during this time.

Slightly overlapping this period will be a couple other aspects to keep an eye on. Mars will square Pluto from August 10 - 24, which is another energy combo that could express itself in an accident, especially if you're traveling. It could also indicate a confrontation over power issues and I'm not talking about your electric bill. Your buddy, Mars, will be in your House of work, health and fitness, so this energy will give you plenty of drive and assertion, but this could also stir up some trouble with the powers that be. Neptune gets in the act again around this same time, this time opposing the Sun, who's spending most of August in your 5th House, which is a lot like a zodiacal Grand Central Station this month. This can brighten up your love life, enjoyment of your children, and creative endeavors, but it can also fire up your ego a bit, too. Neptune can bring some dreamy inspiration, but just don't get too carried away or mistake any brainstorms for reality.

Mercury will be in conjunction with Venus from August 13 - 31, peaking on the 20th. This also occurs in your house of work and health and bodes very well for pleasant communications. If you have something you want to present or talk to the boss about, you'll be perceived in a positive way during that time. This gives you the second half of the month to do damage control on any crap that may have occurred the first half of the month. If this was done covertly by one or more hidden enemies, as previously noted, that Sun trine Pluto from August 17 - 26 should bring it to light.

Right in the middle of the month, the Full Moon will occur in Aquarius, your 11th House of friends, groups, and so forth, also hopes and wishes. This lunation is also an eclipse and should bring closure to something that started up about six months ago. There's a heavy emphasis on finances, work, and career due to a nice, cozy Grand Earth Trine. The asteroid, Vesta, is one of the vertices, and she's in your 2nd House of possessions and finance, which will bring an extra dose of dedication to that area, making it easy to mind your checkbook and spending at that time. Vesta will be in trine with a stellium in your House of work that involves Venus, Mercury, and Saturn, all of which bring a lot of favorable energy and ambition in that direction. The coup de gras in the Grand Trine is Jupiter, who's lucky and expansive and hanging out in your 10th House of career. This implies that all your hard work on some project is going to payoff quite nicely.

The last week has some interesting aspects as well. From August 26 - 31 that Venus/Mercury conjunction will square Pluto. By this time, Venus and Mercury will be either in Libra or on the cusp, placing them in your 7th House of relationships. This points toward having a discussion with someone close to you about something from the past that might not be too pleasant that will probably relate to 9th House issues such as beliefs, legal matters, higher education, and so forth. Pluto will be dangerously close to Lilith, which could throw a power-hungry female in the mix. Remember that the 7th House comprises all one-on-one relationships, including not only significant others but close friends and relatives as well as business associates. Thus, keep an eye out for someone riding a broom during that time who may be the perpetrator of any crisis that arises during that time. The 7th House also includes open enemies, so do the math.

Jupiter trines Saturn from August 20 - 31, which reinforces the effects of the Full Moon and should bring expansive effects to your career ambitions. From August 29 - 31 the Sun will conjoin Saturn in Virgo. This will further highlight ambition, responsibility and obligations, which further increases your chances for a promotion or other recognition regarding your efforts or maybe even a new opportunity for advancement. There are two New Moons this month with the second one on the 30th occurring in your 6th House of work, which already has quite a bit of action. This should open up some new doors in that area, which will give a little extra momentum to all the other happenings in the work arena, which should be a good thing.

There's a lot going on this month that will keep you hopping in a variety of ways. There's a good mix of positive and potentially negative, but confrontation usually doesn't intimidate an Aries. Keep an eye on your figurative rearview mirror for any crap going on behind your back and then proceed full-speed ahead with your work and career ambitions and you should see some real progress by the end of the month.
