This is your month, Scorpio, except for you early birds who were born the last week in October. I find it no coincidence that Halloween, the celebration of the dead, falls while the Sun is in your Sign. As you probably know, since Scorpios have a propensity for such things, your Sign is lord of the 8th House of sex, death, other people's resources (a.k.a. taxes, LOL), and transformation. You are a very cool sign and definitely formidable. You have the ability to sniff out secrets like a good hound and emanate sexual passion like no other. Pluto, your sign ruler, may have been demoted from being a planet, but his power is far from diminished. Pluto doesn't much case what astronomers think and is laughingly reminding everyone that when it comes to astrological influence, size definitely doesn't matter, as anyone who's gone through a hard Pluto transit can tell you. This month one of those long-term aspects is out there that involves the outer planets, which comprise Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and your buddy, Pluto. Since they all move quite slowly, the aspects last long enough to have a lot of influence. Indeed, the outer planets are the ones that really shape our lives while the Sun, Moon and inner planets such as Mercury, Venus and Mars, a.k.a. "innies," are what drive our daily affairs, though these are all in the context of the background music provided by the "outies." The one in force right now that will be exact on November 4 is an opposition between Saturn, planet of responsibility, boundaries, restrictions, delays, obligations, and authority figures (including your father) and Uranus, planet of disruptions, rebellion, sudden change, unexpected events, and innovation. Obviously, these planets are about as diametrically opposed as you can get, though Mars and Neptune come close. Saturn is occupying Virgo, your 11th House of groups, organizations, friends, hopes and wishes, where he's done little to enhance your social life. Saturn stays in a sign for about two and a half years and is over halfway through. He'll leave for Libra in about a year, but return via retrograde motion between April and July 2010 to clean up any unfinished business. Uranus is in Pisces, your 5th House of creativity, children, romance, ego, entertainment and speculation. Obviously that's a target rich environment for stirring things up, which I'm sure he's been doing. No one is more unpredictable than Uranus so whatever you expect to happen won't, no matter how sure it may have seemed at the time. Unpredictable is his middle name and about all you can do is sit back and enjoy it since your life will never be boring. Put these planets and houses in a duel against each other and you can see it's going to stir up some interesting times. Fundamentally, the 5th House is about self-expression and the 11th about your interaction with others; I'm not sure how hopes and wishes snuck in there, but they did. At any rate, there is something for you to learn about these two areas of your life and balancing them out. This zodiacal lesson will be in session from now until next September. The opposition this month will get something rolling that will really start heating up after February 5 when they oppose each other again due to retrograde motion. By the time they face off for the third time in September 2009 you will have learned something substantial that relates to these two areas of you life. It could be a matter of priories between friends and children or your involvement with organizations versus enjoying yourself. You won't be able to force things along, but being aware that something is going on in those areas of your life will help you pay attention and learn all that you're supposed to learn. If you don't, rest assured that the universe will see to it that the class is repeated sometime in the future. The day before the opposition is exact, i.e. November 3, Venus will park her pretty self in Sagittarius, right between those two bad boys, in your 2nd House of possessions, finances, and pleasures. She makes a peaceful mediator as a rule and since she presides over financial matters as the ruler of Taurus, this is a comfortable place for her to be. While she's visiting there until the 12th, she should bring some financial benefits your way. With all the unpleasant financial news going on these days, that has to be welcome news. The fact that she's forming the fulcrum of a T-square with Uranus and Saturn is interesting as well. No matter how much you may be in a tug-o-war between your friends/organizations/hopes & wishes versus your creativity/children/lovers and so forth, your finances are going to come into play in some way. Possibly something so enticing will come along that you won't have time or inclination for either of those other areas. Either that or it will provide a stabilization point, as fulcrums do, and help you at least define what the other two represent. You're not likely to resolve it at this stage anyway, since that opposition will be out there messing around for almost a year. Another long term aspect involves your sign ruler, Pluto, god of the Underworld. Once again he'll enter Capricorn, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, short journeys, and neighbors. If this sounds familiar it's because he did so back in January, but subsequently went retrograde and returned to Sagittarius to clean up some unfinished business. This time he'll be gone for good and bring his power to that 3rd House. Talk about formidable, Pluto's power in your house of thoughts and ideas will give you an incredible power boost. You already can practically see through walls and spot a cop from a mile away, but this will amplify that even more. Your perceptions will be deep and pervasive and your problem solving ability astounding. You will understand things on a level like never before. He'll be in Capricorn until November 2024, a good long time, so you have plenty of time to put it to good use. This would be an excellent time to go back to school or pursue something where you can benefit from the increased talent that is coming your way. On November 4, along with that opposition, Mercury will sextile Pluto, which will give you just a taste of what it will be like to have your thought processes enhanced. If there's anyone you need to impress or intimidate, that would be a good time to do so. During that same time, Mars, the ancient ruler of Scorpio before Pluto was discovered, will square Neptune. This tends to bring about a sanity check of some sort. Neptune has been in your 4th House that comprises your home environment, where he's been for quite some time now. He hangs out in a sign for about 14 years and he's about two thirds of the way through, so this is another long term influence. Neptune is good for your inspiration and spirituality, but can also cause illusions and delusions. If you've been fooling yourself about anything about your homelife, you're likely to come to that realization this month as this is the first of three similar hits. Nonetheless, on the 5th Venus will throw a friendly sextile to Neptune, which would be very useful if you're remodeling or decorating and need some ideas. However, be careful you don't go out and spend far more money than you should. Use all that inspiration to make something wonderful happen without breaking the bank. From November 10 - 11 the Sun will be highlighting that Uranus - Saturn opposition in a positive way and drawing your attention to something. Remember that the Sun is in your Sign at this time shining on you, and if your birthday falls about this time, this will reflect in your Solar Return, meaning it will be in effect for the entire year. During this same period, Jupiter will also be involved, a lucky planet who expands whatever he touches, and he's in your 3rd House of thoughts and ideas. This holds all sorts of potential for advancing yourself in some way through creative ideas. There are way to many mix and match options for me to begin to figure it out, but rest assured this will be a time when you need to play close attention to what's going on around you as there is undoubtedly something beneficial in it for you, something that Scorpios are usually pretty good at sniffing out anyway. On November 12 Venus and Pluto will be conjoined which has more interesting financial implications. With all the crap going on in the stock market these days, a Pluto - Venus conjunction in your house of finance should be quite useful for figuring out the best way to handle such things during these turbulent times. Note that the 2nd House contains pleasures as well, so as a Scorpio you shouldn't need to be told twice what that can mean. On the 13th creative ideas with an innovative spin will be coming your way, so pay attention to those as well. That same day the Sun will square Neptune, providing another reality check on your home environment, so make sure you're tuned into that as well. The Full Moon is on the 13th as well, making a pretty busy day. The Full Moon will occur in your 7th house of relationships, implying a culmination of some description. Remember that relationships include all one-on-one interactions, not just your significant other, i.e. close friends and relatives as well as business associates or cliental, if you're in business for yourself. Either something will be completed or move into a new phase in that area. Mercury will be throwing more mental action your way between November 16 - 17, similar to all that action from the Sun started a few days before. The Sun got your attention in some way and now Mercury will stimulate your mental processes so you can figure out what to do with it. Opportunities are blossoming all over the place, so put them to good use. Mercury will also square Neptune during this time, throwing some rational through toward anything Neptune may have been toying with that wasn't quite in touch with the real world. A way to advance yourself through networking is available on the 21st, probably through someone in a high position who can help you in some way. On the 25th the Sun will conjoin Mercury, both in your house of thoughts and ideas again, bringing even more mental energy your way. The New Moon on the 27th is in your 2nd House of possessions and finances, so something is definitely brewing in that part of your life. Venus will sextile Uranus on the 28th, bringing more innovation and creativity to bear. I certainly hope you put all of this to good use because it doesn't happen every month. This is a good example of our motto, "Timing is Everything," and using astrological influences in a positive way. Mercury will conjoin Mars in your 2nd House on the 29th. Keep an eye on this one. It delivers a lot of energy to your house of finance and it's likely that some interesting information will come your way that will get you quite fired up. Again, this could be useful information pertaining to your finances, so pay attention. Venus will trine Saturn on the 30th, which should bring more good ideas your way, again pertaining to your friends or organizational interests and any influential people you know in those arenas. Then get ready for December 1, when lucky Jupiter and friendly Venus are conjoined in your very active house of thoughts and ideas. If that pair doesn't bring you a winner of some sort I don't know what will. Obviously this month will be filled with opportunities. Thoughts and ideas are a dime a dozen and that opposition out there, which will be playing in the background for almost a year, is definitely involved. The stage is being set for some significant happenings in your life, but it's up to you to put the pieces together. Mental activity is at an all time high and includes lots of luck and inspiration.
