Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month the Full Moon on May 8th is in Scorpio, your 6th House of work, health, and small animals. A Full Moon indicates a culmination or change of phase, which is likely to show up in a variety of areas. First of all, Venus and Mars are traveling together in Aries, your 11th House of friends, group associations, coworkers and hopes and wishes. Interactions with those of the opposite sex in those settings will be more lively than usual and will involve some adjustments to your home life. Saturn has been retrograde in your 4th House of home environment since New Years Eve and when he goes direct on the 16th of this month you should have some idea of something that needs to be structured in that part of your life. Various spiritual transformations are in-work beneath the surface as well, which will influence what you decide to do.

There's a stellium, which comprises three or more astrological entities in either the same sign or house, that will also have an important impact, particularly since it will be in effect for a while and will also be active for the New Moon. This trio comprises Jupiter, Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, who are camped out in Aquarius, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, long-distance travel, and cultural interactions. Jupiter is very comfortable and active in the 9th House since he's the ruler of the zodiacal 9th House, which is Sagittarius, your polar sign. That probably doesn't mean much to most of you, but take my word for it that it has a bearing. This 'big boy" gas giant planet expands what he touches and currently he's touching Neptune. The effect this will have will be to bring a large dose of idealism and compassion to your current belief system.

Chiron, the "wounded healer," is right in the middle of things, which indicates that this will facilitate a healing of some description in this area of your life. Chiron's domain includes those areas of our life where we will be hurt, either physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. We are then expected to take those wounds, which will never entirely heal, and use the compassion and understanding that we acquire through them to help others similarly affected. In a nutshell, an expansion of your beliefs to more idealistic terrain will bring about a healing of some description, either in you or others. With Uranus connecting with this trio from Pisces, this revelation is likely to original with an unexpected event or disruption related to your career or public image. Since the Moon itself is in your 6th House of work, it appears that all of this is going to have an effect on your current job and career goals. A spiritual transformation is tied into all this as well, so there's a lot going on.

Note that Mercury goes retrograde on May 6 and this will continue until the 30th. Mercury is your Sign Ruler so these retrograde periods are more noticeable to you than others. Not only do all electronic and mechanical devices tend to misbehave during this time, but your own thought processes and communications, whether talking or listening, won't be up to par. Moving forward is difficult if not impossible at this time, but it's suitable for rethinking, editing, or re-planning something you've been working on, either consciously or subconsciously. Mercury is in your 12th House of inspiration, enlightenment, dreams, confinement, institutions and hidden enemies. Thus, revisiting something related to those areas is on your cosmological agenda.

The New Moon on May 24th is in Gemini. Obviously it's getting near your birthday so it's Solar Return time for you, meaning you'll be starting a new cycle. If your birthday is within a day or two of May 25 you can expect to have an especially significant year ahead packed with new experiences. Those same influences noted for the Full Moon are still in force, but these should have a slightly different spin. Something in your group associations and beliefs was drawing to a close at that time and the New Moon will be introducing a new phase in these same areas. These beliefs and expectations associated with Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron are going to tie into your spiritual life in some way and have a long lasting, perhaps even life-changing, effect.

Daily and Short-term Aspects

The month starts out with Venus squaring Pluto, which from May 1 - 9 will force some soul-searching related to your friends and associates or perhaps your hopes for the future. It could also involve your love life in some way, though it's more likely to involve your feelings toward a group or group activity. During this same time, around May 5th, the Sun will trine Saturn, which is a favorable aspect that will bring a new dimension to your home life. Remember that Saturn has been retrograde for several months and this is about ten days before the retrograde period ends, so this will be the Universe's last ditch effort to draw your attention to something you need to take care of at home. On the 6th Mercury goes retrograde, implying that this isn't anything new, but something that's been lingering around for a while and requires action. The Full Moon on the 8th will bring further information.

On May 11, an adjustment between your group activities will be required to accommodate something on the home front, or vice versa. By then Saturn will be within five days of going direct, so this will give you a clue regarding those home issues that require attention if you haven't figured it out by now. On the 16th, Saturn takes it out of reverse and at the same time the Sun is stirring things up regarding those beliefs mentioned earlier. Unexpected opportunities will be there as well that pertain to your career, so be sure to pay attention to that part of your life at this time. On the 18th a flood of ideas or information should come your way, but remember this isn't going to be entirely new since Mercury is retrograde. Rather, it will be a new take on an existing issue but something you undoubtedly missed previously. Thank the Universe, then take it and run.

In effect from May 16 - 25 but peaking on the 20th, expect another flood of information pertaining to your beliefs and expectations or those other 9th House issues noted earlier such as legal matters, long distance travel, higher learning and such. Adjustments between your group activities and home life will come to fore at this time as well. The Sun goes into Gemini on the 21st, which along with some surprising events related to your career, should deliver a few opportunities. Transformational change is shifting your consciousness in some way which may require a change of course due to a Catch 22 situation or other development that interferes with previous plans. The New Moon comes along about this time, which should yield a few more helpful revelations. Right around May 26th, more opportunities should come about, probably as the result of networking, which will further influence those belief changes or other events associated with that 9th House stuff. Make sure you get the message because it's going to follow you this entire year. Mercury goes direct on May 30th, after which you can expect to move forward again.

There's a lot going on this month which will serve to prepare you for the year ahead. Themes that will be apparent the entire year are coming together, so take note of what they are and what actions you should take in their regard. Since everything we do is hinged upon our beliefs in some manner, if changes are coming in that area they'll undoubtedly have a major effect on your life.
