Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month we have a lunar and solar eclipse with another one to come in August, giving them extra punch compared to the typical Full and New Moon. These are part of the 11 South family of the Saros series of eclipses which involve sudden reforms where old methods fail; new ways will be required to handle existing situations. If any obstacles are in the way, they could be removed in a sudden or even forceful manner. The Full Moon on July 7 will hail the culmination of one of these obsolete methods with the aspects accompanying it offering a few clues regarding where you can expect this to be operating in your life. The Sun is in Cancer, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs, and pleasures and the Moon in Capricorn, your 8th House of transformations, sex, death, and other people's money. Looking no farther than today's economy reveals a target-rich environment to apply the eclipses' theme. In order to survive financially these days is going to require a different strategy from what has worked in the past. Other aspects of note is a Triangle of Potential formed between Saturn and the opposing Sun and Moon. Saturn is all about discipline, delays, separations, responsibility, obligation, and authority. Bureaucracies and governments are ruled by Saturn. In this ToP configuration Saturn offers a solution, which resides in your 4th House of home environment. This could play out in a variety of ways, one of which is to live more economically. Maybe it's time to downsize or simply keep closer tabs on your budget. It could also be a source of income, a place where you could engage in some activity that could improve your finances. Maybe your first step should be to get all your family members on the same page and supportive of a more austere life style. If you tend to be a bit of a party animal, maybe it's time to spend less time and money elsewhere and engage in activities that center around your home. I'm sure you'll be able to figure out something that applies specifically to you in this regard. The stellium comprising Jupiter, Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, which has been hanging out in Aquarius for quite a while now is another player in this eclipse. For one thing, all three of them are currently retrograde, internalizing their energies in your 9th House of higher learning, legal matters, long distance travel, relocation, beliefs and experiences with other cultures. Consider the saying "If you keep on doing what you've always done you'll keep on getting what you've always got." How do your beliefs determine what you're getting in life? Do you need to further your education? Change your beliefs about yourself and your abilities? Should you relocate somewhere with more opportunities? This retrograde trio will be helping you consider such things and if your birthday is within a few days of June 18th this influence will be particularly strong as well as beneficial. Some unexpected annoyances may stir things up and thus get your attention in this area as well. Mars is in Taurus for this Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, which is your 12th House of enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, confinement, institutions, and hidden enemies and he's throwing a square to Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron. Mars throwing a square from the 12th House smells an awful lot like someone trying to undermine you or keep you from taking the proper action. This someone could even be yourself, so take a hard look at your willingness to make some changes. Venus is also in your 12th House, which will bring a positive flavor that could yield some much needed inspiration. She is quincunx Pluto in your 8th House of transformations, sex, other people's money and shared investments. Adjustments are required, even if you feel as though you're in a Catch-22. The New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 21st will usher in something new. With the New Moon on the very edge of Cancer on the cusp of Leo, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, and short journeys, it is likely to manifest there. Of course new thoughts and ideas are exactly what you need to make any changes. Mercury, your Sign Ruler, is in Leo, accelerating your thought processes as well. Remember that the theme of these eclipses is to cast off old methods and find new ones. The New Moon is quincunx Pluto, sending another message that transformation change is needed. Uranus is in Pisces, your 10th House of career, reputation, and public image, which is nothing new since this planet of sudden change, the unexpected, and rebellion has been there for quite some time. However, he is in a nice, harmonious trine with the New Moon pair, implying positive changes are coming, more than likely based on those new thoughts coming your way. Venus is in Gemini and if your birthday is within a day or so of June 9th you will have numerous blessings bestowed upon you by this eclipse. Venus is square Saturn in your 4th House of home environment which will incline you to look at your relationships with family members with a rather critical eye; you may even be a bit too hard on yourself in that regard. This also implies that whatever you decide you want to accomplish or do may not have the support you need from those around you. Mars is in Gemini giving you plenty of energy, though it could also come across as aggressive. Mars is sextile Mercury, which will stir up your mental processes, but your thoughts are going to tend toward being a bit ego-centric, so bear that in mind if you encounter resistance from those around you. Daily and Short-term Aspects The first few days of the month start out with Venus and Mercury aspecting that stellium comprising Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron in your 9th House of beliefs, higher learning, long-distance travel and so forth. Venus is in your 12th House at that time, which should yield some inspiration to influence those 9th House elements, particularly your beliefs. This is not to say that it won't challenge the status quo, only that it will be useful toward moving your view of the world in a slightly different direction. Changes are needed and the Universe is giving you a helping hand. Mercury will be assisting as well, activating your thoughts and making them clear, logical, and easy to follow. Mercury goes into Cancer, your 2nd House of finance and possessions, on July 3rd, driving that mental energy in that direction until the middle of the month. On July 4th Mercury opposes Pluto, providing a forensic effect that should help get you on the path to transformation. On July 5 Mars will interact with that trio in your 9th House from Taurus, your 12th House. If you find yourself arguing with new ideas or finding a new direction, this could be a classic case of sabotaging yourself regarding some positive change. Feeling rebellious is another possibility, probably because you simply don't like the necessity of change or because you're not getting your way easily enough. Recognize that you're in a Catch-22 and need to make some adjustments, which may entail giving up something, like it or not. The Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse occurs on the 7th. The Sun sextiles Saturn on July 9, which will offer a financial opportunity centered around your home environment, either to save or make some money or perhaps acquire something you need or want if you're willing to work for it. That extra Mars energy will give you the drive you need to put any thoughts into action. Adjustments to your existing beliefs will be at work on July 16, changing them in a way you'll be aware of consciously. Mercury goes into Leo on July 17, further stirring up your mental processes. Remember that Gemini is the Zodiacal 3rd House that rules our thoughts and ideas, making the mental domain comfortable territory for you. The Sun will stir up that Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron trio between July 17 - 18, further emphasizing the need for some adjustments to your beliefs in case you missed them earlier with some changes to your finances coming on the 19th that will relate to your career or public image in some way. Perhaps you'll get a raise or promotion, or perhaps someone will contact you based on your reputation. On the 20th lots of mental and physical drive will be available but this is also when you may be casting a critical eye toward some of those close to you. It's advisable that you do more thinking than talking right now or you might live to regret it. That New Moon/Solar Eclipse is on the 21st. The Sun goes into Leo on July 22, bringing even more emphasis to your mental processes, neighborhood, and short journeys. Adjustments to your thoughts are due on the 23rd which will ultimately have a transformational effect and influence your beliefs. July 27 - 28 Venus will throw a nice trine to that Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron stellium, which will help you accept and assimilate those new beliefs and view on the world in a very beneficial way. July 30 - 31 you'll continue to absorb you these new beliefs and ponder upon them in a logical way as you seek to understand and apply them. On the 31st Venus goes into Cancer, which should bring some good fortune your way financially in the days to come. July will be a busy month on the mental plane as you disassemble some old beliefs and assimilate new ones. If your finances are a bit of a challenge, you should find various means to deal with them, possibly through a combination of saving money in some areas and earning it in others. Change is inevitable, particularly in view of the two eclipses that in and of themselves tell us that old methods aren't going to be effective anymore. As a Mutable Air Sign that thrives on logic, this will be easier for you to figure out that those who are less flexible intellectually.
