Lunations and Long-term Aspects The Full Moon this month on August 5 comes with another lunar eclipse that will further reinforce the pair we had in July. As you may recall, the theme for this family of eclipses is that of sudden reforms finding new ways to solve old problems. Any obstacles could be removed in a forceful manner that won't necessarily require your intervention. The eclipse occurs in fellow Fixed Sign, Aquarius, your 10th House of career and reputation, so expect rumbling in this part of your life. Lunar eclipses tend to work upon us internally whereas solar eclipses tend to facilitate external events. Thus, if there is anything amiss in this part of your life regarding your career, public image, reputation, and status in general, you will find yourself pondering these issues and perhaps be bothered enough by it to do something about it. If your birthday is within a few days of May 4th this will have an even stronger effect because the eclipse will create a T-square with your Natal Sun. A typical result from this would be for something to happen on the home front that creates some problems in the career or status area. This, in turn, would facilitate a review of your priorities as well as what is working in your life and what is not. Some of the features of this particular eclipse that will further color its personality for sudden reform include a Triangle of Potential between Pluto, Mercury and Venus. With Venus shedding her blessings on your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, and neighbors; Mercury sharpening your attention to detail, tendency to worry, and critical eye in your 5th House of creativity, ego expression, romance, and children, and Pluto in your 9th House of beliefs and expectations, foreign travel, legal matters, and higher education, you can see there are a multitude of ways this could show up. For example, opportunities for expressing your feelings toward family members will be common and with Pluto in the mix, if there are any issues that need to be resolved, this is going to happen. No matter how much you care about someone, if they're doing something that is making you crazy, this will come up for review in one way or another. Conversations and dialogs will occur that could dig up some old dirt, but ultimately they will be resolved. Another effect could be putting your values and even finances in line with where you want to go in life. The sacrifices required to better yourself may now seem clearer and more justifiable than in the past. However, this will present its own set of challenges in the form of responsibilities that could present delays or other obstacles. These could come about unexpectedly and could hail from friends, group associations, coworkers or an organization to which you're obligated in some way. The New Moon on the 20th is in your 4th House of home environment. This will introduce something new to this part of your life, or perhaps a new phase. If you birthday is within a few days of May 18th you are even more likely to notice what it is. There are several aspects accompanying this lunation which imply it will be stirring things up a bit. For one thing there's a T-square that comprises Mercury, Uranus and Mars at the apex. I'm sure that doesn't mean much to most of you, but for Bulls that is going to affect one of your most cherished possessions, probably your checkbook. Now is definitely not a good time for you to take that trip to Vegas or do any speculating. Disruptions and unexpected events affecting your finances are likely and could involve your children, romantic interests or self-expression/creativity as well. Be very attuned to reality before buying anything and forget optimism. Chances are this part of you life has been a bit messed up for a while anyway, with Saturn hanging out in your 5th House which covers these things, and this is going to be in effect until late October. Saturn is a stern task-master and is the author of hard lessons. If you've been depressed or discouraged lately and your confidence is down, this is probably why. Don't think it will be over then, either, because you can expect more of the same from April until near the end of July 2010 due to Saturn going retrograde, which is never a particularly enchanting time, believe me. So tighten up the budget and don't even think about any luxuries or foolish expenditures for a while. Of course this isn't rocket science in this economy, but rest assure that the transits support it, particularly in the area of speculations so unless it's definitely a sure thing don't go near it with an insulated barge pole. There is also a double yod that involves your Sign Ruler, Venus, as well as Saturn, Mercury, and that transiting stellium comprising Neptune, the asteroid, Chiron and Jupiter. This is a whole lot of different energies which is impossible to interpret for everyone but some of the things you might watch for include some serious thoughts and perhaps even news of an opportunity for you with regard to your career aspirations. This may not be what you'd had in mind, but may be something you need to consider given the current economic situation. Adjustments to your attitude or what you originally had in mind are a strong bet, but this change in direction should pay off. Give it some serious thought and keep your eyes open for signposts along the way. Your beliefs and expectations are already being unearthed by the zodiacal backhoe, Pluto, so now is not the time to dig in your Fixed Sign heels and refuse to change. You don't like change but you do like money, so consider the fact that your comfort zone may not remain such for long and getting over the fact things aren't the same as they were a few years ago is something you need to do, like it or not. This New Moon is handing you some information that you need to consider, so ditch the denial and excuses and get to it or it might bite you later. Daily and Short-term Aspects August 1 - 7: The week of the month is a good one for giving some serious consideration to the thought "If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got." Put your ego aside such that you don't discount anything that comes to mind that isn't complimentary. If you think others don't notice your weaknesses, think again. August 2 - 25: Information, thoughts, and ideas of a creative nature will start coming your way. Remember the messages in the eclipse and New Moon, however, and don't break out your wallet without having cold, hard facts available. Also make sure you're not too self-centered but consider others in your life. August 5: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse today (see above.) August 10: Not a good day for your finances. If you have kids there's a good chance they're going to cost you money today. Watch you ego and don't let it get you into trouble, either. Responsibilities or obligations are likely to have an sharp edge today. August 13 - 14: Those financial considerations are going to bounce off your career aspirations (or lack thereof) during this time, but there are good things out there. Take off your blinders and see what it is with an open mind. Now is not the time to discount any possibilities. August 17 - 20: Start paying attention to what your career options might be as the planets start positioning themselves for that New Moon on the 20th. Keep your eyes, ears, and mind wide-open. Opportunities are there; make sure you don't miss them. August 21: Watch for unexpected news related to either your coworkers, group associations, or organizational ties today. What's in it for you? August 22: The Sun goes into Virgo, your 5th House of self-expression, ego, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. This will highlight these areas, but not necessarily in a positive way, given the other aspects out there, so be cautious. If you've been disillusioned about anything, admit it. More surprises are likely today regarding your friends or associates, but should be of a positive nature, at least as far as you're concerned. August 23: Spend some time rethinking some of your a priori assumptions and where they've gotten you in the past. If it's not broke, don't fix it, but if they haven't been working, don't look the other way. (Reread the quote for August 1 - 7.) August 25 - 26: Mercury goes into Libra, your 6th House of work, health and pets, and Mars enters Cancer, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas and neighbors. If your current job utilizes phrases such as "Do you want fries with that?" or anything else that isn't taking you in the right direction, something will probably rub your nose in it. Think back on how you got where you are and whether retracing any of those steps may be in order. Venus goes into Leo, your 4th House of home environment at this time as well. This is favorable for this part of your life, though some adjustments to your expectations in this area are probably in order. August 28: Opportunities that relate to both home and work are out there. Maybe you can find a job that is more compatible with your home life or earn some money from home in some way. Keep an eye out. Now is not the time to bury you head in the sand. Get to know yourself better with a personalized Natal Chart Report! |
