This month the bulk of activity lies in your 4th House of home environment, 5th House of children, lovers, creativity and entertainment, and 6th House of work, health/fitness, and pets as the Sun and an entourage of other planets pass through that Zodiacal neighborhood. The month starts out with the New Moon in Leo on August 1, which will introduce something new to your home environment. Coincident with the New Moon, Venus will oppose Neptune, which could have a large variety of influences. Venus typically relates to love or money (big surprise) and Neptune can be anything from inspiration to delusion, and with them opposing each other, a conflict of some description will be in the making. Since this New Moon brings an eclipse along for the ride, these effects will last for approximately six months until the next one.

Venus is in your 4th House, which should bring favorable vibes to your home life while Neptune is in your 10th House of career and reputation. This could be nothing more serious than some good things going on in both venues, but you having to choose which one with which you'll spend your time. For example, some great social get-togethers evolve where you could advance your networking and ultimately help your career but they're on the same night as your child's soft-ball playoffs. Either that or you'd planned something at home that night, have company in town and so forth. Obviously a conflict between home and career is nothing new. Since this ties in with the New Moon eclipse, it will continue until the next Full Moon eclipse in approximately six months, so may simply mean a whole series of similar conflicts. With school starting back and everything else that relates to the end of summer, this shouldn't be too surprising, astrology not-with-standing.

Also in force the first week of the month will be a conjunction between Mercury and the Sun, which will enhance communications, and a trine between Venus and Pluto. On the latter, if you're planning something at home that involves either money, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, or maybe both, this bodes well for its success. There are some romantic possibilities in there as well, but caution is advised if you've just met the person as they may have an ulterior motive. Hooking up with someone from your distant past is another possibility, but not getting too carried away is still a good idea.

From August 1 - 12 Mars will oppose Uranus, planet of upsets, disruptions, surprises and unexpected events. This further reinforces the possibility of something happening of a romantic nature since Mars is in your 5th House of romance, though it could also involve your children or creativity. Mars is all about energy and drive but this opposition implies that something you want to accomplish is going to be disrupted by something that comes up with your friends, a group association, or perhaps related to a long-term hope or wish of some description. If something like a wild infatuation does come along, it could also tie into that and indicate your plans for pursuing your new love are interrupted in some way or a surprise comes along.

Mars is going to keep moving as planets tend to do and a few days later he'll square off with Pluto, which will last from August 10 - 24. Squares usually indicate a crisis of some sort and we're still dealing with energy in your 5th House of romance, children and creativity. If this does have a romantic application in your life, things will be heating up significantly at this time. Again, don't let yourself get too carried away, because these aspects are more indicative of a hot and heavy short-term romance that won't end well than the love of your life. If your lovelife is non-existent (probably because you're married) and there's something going on with your kids, keep a close eye on things as well. Something from your past could also turn up, seemingly out the blue, that causes you a few problems.

During about that same time, from August 13 -31, Mercury will conjoin Venus, accelerating all sorts of communications. These will go to a great level of detail, and also be associated with all this other 5th House business, whatever it happens to be. Note that during this time that your ego may lure you into either a false sense of security or other delusion that could affect your public imagine if you're not careful. At any rate, whichever applies, keep your radar deployed and common sense engaged, which may be easier said than done. Now is when it's a good thing if you have a very practical Air or Earth Sign friend to bounce all this off of to assure you're on the right track.

You probably haven't put it all together, but there is going to be a four planet stellium in Virgo, your now infamous 5th House, between August 11 - 19. That's a lot of energy that includes love, money, a lot of talking, and a fair amount of responsibility, possible delays, and obligations. Right in the middle of all that, on August 16, the Full Moon occurs in Aquarius. This Full Moon, like the New Moon, is an eclipse, which also has more punch than the usual. The effects of this one are likely to indicate the culmination of something that got kick-started six months ago in February with the last New Moon eclipse. Incorporated into this one, largely through employing that Virgo stellium, is a Grand Earth Trine that brings along a lot of thoughts of stability and responsibility, perhaps through participating in some sort of ritual, legal process, church or academic event, or even a trip abroad. This would be typical of a wedding, graduation, child starting or finishing school, and so forth.

Between August 17 - 24 while the Sun trines Pluto you'll see more action in your home environment that could have a transformational effect, perhaps by unearthing something so you can see it in a new light, increasing your sense of power, or even bringing some new resources your way, possibly via an inheritance.

As the month draws to a close, something at work or possibly with your health or fitness routine will get stirred up and possibly tie back to that romance, creativity, or kid issue. The last few days will be chaperoned by task-master Saturn who will also help provide a sanity check on what you're doing all around. If you don't pay attention, you might have your nose rubbed in it, which will be less than enchanting, so pay attention. The second New Moon this month on the 30th is also in this same area, i.e. Virgo, your 5th House, providing even more momentum for something new to develop in this area.

All in all this looks like a rather intense month with a lot to look out for. There is no sign more solid and down to earth than Taurus, so you should be able to handle this better than most. As a Fixed Sign you typically don't jump into things but think them through, long and hard. However, one thing you do like is luxuries and pleasures of all varieties, so this could be your Achilles heel. Whatever you do, don't give into a sudden "What the heck?" impulse because you may not like the result and you'll remember all too well why you usually take longer to make up your mind.
