The month starts out with a New Moon in Leo on August 1st, which is you 9th House of legal matters, academia, long distance travel, and beliefs in general. If these are some of your favorite things, it's because Sagittarius rules the zodiacal 9th House. This lunation has a bit more punch than average because it's also a solar eclipse, which should kick off something new in this part of you life that will last for approximately six months. Venus will oppose Neptune for this New Moon, which should be good for some inspiration that could have some financial benefits, but you'll need to make sure you don't let your imagination get so carried away that it leaves reality behind. There are also some favorable aspects for establishing a contractual relationship with someone, which includes marriage, if you're so inclined. You'll be brimming with ideas in these areas as well as the Sun and Mercury engage in a bear hug until the 5th, which will further fuel your activities for the next six months.

From August 2 - 8, Venus will trine Pluto. Venus is also in your 9th House at that time and, benefic planet that she is, should bring along a stroke of good fortune of some description. Pluto has dropped back in for a visit to your 1st House of personality, taking care of any unfinished business before he moves into Capricorn for good around Thanksgiving. Pluto roots out old issues for resolution and increases our sense of personal power as we shed baggage we no longer need. Put this together with some favorable happenings of a legal or academic nature or perhaps a new view of the world, and it's likely to turn out well, provided you keep your nose clean and don't yield to the temptation to be less than above board in whatever you're trying to do. You will be viewed as powerful in a favorable way, so put it to good use. Another possibility is receiving help from someone powerful.

Mars will oppose Uranus from August 1 - 12, which will stir up something relative to your career, reputation or public image (10th House) while tying back to your home environment (4th House) in some way. In other words, things will be busy and competitive out there in the world, while surprises or disruptions of some description occur at home, creating a conflict between the two. Of course anyone who works while balancing a family knows this is fairly typical, but it will be more pronounced than usual this month. From August 10 - 24 Mars will square Pluto, which is one to look out for. There's all sorts of good stuff going on this month, but this looks like it could bring some opposition from some competition. However, if you handle this properly, it will work to your advantage as the attention could definitely turn out to be positive. During about this same time, from August 10 - 20, the Sun will oppose Neptune. This could sway your good sense and cloud reality, so make sure you check your facts, no matter of good they may sound. Think about all those emails you've forwarded in good faith only to have someone send you back a link to snopes.com. Now is not the time to trust anything without confirmation.

Midmonth will bring the Full Moon on the 16th, another eclipse that will occur in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, and short journeys. This will bring the culmination of something in this part of your life that's been active for the past six months. This Full Moon sports a very nice Grand Earth Trine that has a lot of positive elements such as an expansion of stability and pleasant communications through service of some sort that could have a ritualistic flair. The apex of this Full Moon Grand Trine includes Venus, Mercury and Saturn, all hanging out in your House of career. In other words, whatever is drawing to a close is going to go out with a rather pleasant bang that could very well bring along some financial benefits or an award. Mercury will be in contact with Venus there in Virgo from August 13 - 31, which bodes very well for ideas of a money-making nature and also for communicating your ideas in such a way that you are very well received. Thus, if you have something you want to present to the public, shoot for sometime between August 13 - 31, or better yet August 20, when the aspect will be exact, just in case the Full Moon doesn't bring it to full fruition.

The Sun will trine Pluto from August 17 - 26. This brings even more energy and light to your career as the Sun passes over your midheaven. This is also a time when you'll really shine, and since this is coincident with that Mercury/Venus conjunction, you couldn't have more auspicious astrological help than this to give your career a power boost, if you use the energy properly.

From August 26 - 31, opposition could strike again, particularly if you didn't check your facts like I told you to earlier. If a bunch of unfavorable information surfaces, all your hard work could be for naught. There is undoubtedly someone out there who is less than enchanted by your potential victory and impending success, so don't be naive or foolish in your optimism. All those planets in Virgo will help you dig through the details and make sure they're in their proper order. Don't take anything for granted and you should do fine.

During the last part of the month Saturn gets into the act, first with a nice trine to Jupiter from August 20 - 31. Saturn is all about responsibility and obligations that impose boundaries upon us, but in a nice harmonious trine to your Sign Ruler, Jupiter, who's lucky by nature and expands what he touches, this looks like an increase in responsibility that could mean a promotion. The Sun will conjoin Saturn from August 29 - 31, throwing ever more light on the responsibility part plus that second New Moon on August 30th will give it even more momentum. Again, all this is going on in your 10th House of career and reputation, so if this isn't a busy month in this part of your life I'd be very, very surprised.

The month concludes with a nice stellium in Libra, your 11th House of groups, organizations, hopes and wishes that includes Venus, Mercury and Mars. If all else has gone as well as expected, this looks like a great time to celebrate your victory. If perchance you messed up and it didn't work out, it's still a good time to get together with some friends to drown your sorrows and then do a post-mortem on what went wrong so you can do better next time. At any rate, this month should be far from boring and will include some very interesting endings and new beginnings. Make them count for all they're worth.
