This month there will be a lot of action relative to your work/career as well as your health and relationships, starting with the New Moon on August 1, which occurs in Leo, your 6th House of work, health/fitness, and pets. This New Moon is particularly powerful because it is also a solar eclipse. A New Moon always has the Sun and Moon in conjunction, i.e. at the same zodiacal degree, but for an eclipse they're also at the same declination, meaning their height above the horizon. This gives it a lot more significance in that the effects will last for approximately six months, until it culminates with a Full Moon eclipse. Thus, you can expect something new to develop related to your work or health. If you've been wanting to make a change in this area of your life, this is a good time to do so, when you have this astrological energy to give you an extra helping hand, whether you want to change something about your job or begin a health and fitness program. This New Moon will be even more powerful if your birthday falls within a few days one way or another of February 28. Of particular interest is the fact that the asteroid, Vesta, ties into this New Moon with a square from her location in Taurus. Vesta influences such things as or dedication, service, or our need for rituals. In this context with the New Moon, what I see if a lot of resistance to changing your old way of doing things. Establishing a new routine will be even more challenging than usual, so commitment is more important than ever. The good news, particularly for those born around February 28th, is that Vesta is sextile your Natal Sun, which should offer an opportunity to make any adjustments a little more easily. Also influencing this New Moon is the fact that Mercury is in conjunction with the Sun/Moon pair. This will help facilitate any thoughts or information exchanges needed to get the ball rolling appropriately. That Mercury/Sun conjunction will continue until August 5th, providing some additional time to focus in on what you need to know. Also in effect during that time, however, is an opposition between Venus and Neptune. Venus is a nice, friendly planet which will be imbuing optimism and maybe even a bit of good fortune there in the work/health department. However, she's going to be waging an argument with dreamy Neptune over there in your 2nd House of finance, possessions, and pleasures. Neptune can bring us inspiration and fuels our dreams, but reality isn't a big part of all that. Thus, if you're thinking of changing jobs so you can make more money, think again, because your aspirations may not be realistic. Again, do the proper research so you know what's feasible. Since Neptune is your Sign Ruler, clearly this isn't something that comes naturally for a Pisces. You're dreamy by nature and as with all strong characteristics, it's your greatest strength and your greatest weakness. Thus, this tug-o-war with Venus is going to lean toward those dreams and possible illusions as opposed to reality. Be aware and compensate accordingly so as to avoid disappointment later. Helping this along will be the fact that Venus will trine Pluto from August 2 - 8. Pluto has snuck back into your 10th House of career and reputation after a brief sojourn in Capricorn, which will resume later this year. You never know where these planets will wind up when they go retrograde. At any rate, as the planet of transformation, this aspect could be very useful if what you're trying to do is find a new job or career. This will help you do a post-mortem on what you've been doing up until now and identify what may be more suitable. Pisces thrive on transcendence, or escaping the mundane, so if you've had a hum-drum, routine job lacking in all luster and excitement, chances are you're bored to tears and ready for something more stimulating. The trick is to find something reasonable that will pay the bills, yet answers the mail for satisfaction as well. Right. And people in Hell want ice water, but you won't know unless you try. During this same time Mars will oppose Uranus, which looks like some opposition to this change from someone close to you. Mars is in your 7th House of relationships while Uranus is in your 1st House of personality, where's he been for quite a while now; since March 2003, as I recall. Currently Uranus is in mutual reception with your buddy, Neptune, meaning these two planets are in the Sign the other rules, which increases their synergy. This will throw a lot of inspiration and dreams toward personal changes as well as a touch of rebellion and a need for change toward your dreams and spiritual values. That said, you're going to have some pretty clear ideas on what you want to do, but the people you're closest to may not agree. Mars in your 7th House implies contention anyway, and when it's linked up with the planet of change that's driving your personality right now, it's not rocket science to figure someone is going to give you a bad time. Now bear in mind that the 7th House includes all one-on-one relationships, so this troublemaker isn't necessarily your significant other. It could just as easily be a close friend or relative or business partner/associate. It certainly won't hurt to listen to what they have to say with an open mind, especially since you're prone to make emotional decisions that might bite you in the end. If you truly listen without being defensive, it will also help diffuse any contention, so shut up, sit tight, and listen, no matter how hard it may be. From August 10 - 24 Mars will square Pluto, which will bring that contention in your relationships to bear on your career and reputation. Again, it won't hurt to listen, particularly if you know the person cares about you and has your best interests at heart. If not, and it's just a power struggle of some sort, then you'd be more justified in dismissing it. Folded into this aspect will be the Sun opposing Neptune, which implies that someone close to you will help dispel any delusions you're hanging onto. Again, it will be in your best interest to listen up. This is not to say that your dreams aren't important or shouldn't be pursued, only that it never hurts to do so in a practical manner. From August 13 - 31, Venus and Mercury will be in a nice, cozy bear hug, which favors good communications, particularly in your relationships. This will help you listen graciously and with an open mind. The Full Moon occurs on August 16 in Aquarius, your 12th House of inspiration, spirituality, dreams, and hidden enemies. Since this lunation is also an eclipse, it will be closing out something that started in this part of your life last February while the New Moon this month is kicking off something new. If the past six months has been a bit rough, this should be cause for celebration. There are some interesting aspects associated with this Full Moon that will affect the character of this culmination. Once again, Neptune is in the game, conjoining the Moon. This tells me that whatever has been going on the past six months should have reaffirmed your dreams and spiritual nature. Also in effect is a nice, Grand Earth Trine that also provides a nice, stable ending. There are four planets in Virgo, three of which are participating in the Grand Trine. This is your 7th House of relationships and with Venus, Mercury and Saturn lined up over there and holding hands, at that, good communications and responsibility are quite apparent. Another apex is Jupiter, who's in your 11th House of groups, indicating an expansion in these activities was achieved, or perhaps simply your beliefs toward them, which could also include some ethical issues. The third apex is the asteroid, Vesta, who is also a party to the New Moon, as previously noted. In this context, she's in your 3rd House of thoughts and ideas with her influence of dedication, service, and rituals, which undoubtedly tie into the lessons learned over the past six months. Give them some conscious thought and internalize them in such a way that the experience, whatever it may have been, has appropriate meaning and will make you wiser in the future. The Sun will trine Pluto from August 17 - 26, which will shed some light on some of those career issues you need to examine, making it another useful aspect. During this time the Sun will slide from Leo to Virgo, bringing the focus from the effect of your current job on a career change to the effect on your relationships. Pluto is quite the forensic expert, so will undoubtedly have some heretofore unknown or hidden information for you to consider. More good stuff to help you make a sound decision. Tucked into this one time-wise is a trine between Jupiter and Saturn. As you recall, Jupiter has been cruising through your 11th House of groups, organizations, friends, hopes and wishes while Saturn is stabilizing your relationships. This could also mean that someone from one of your groups is about to move from that House to your 7th, meaning you'll develop a closer relationship with someone than you had in the past. A nice, harmonious trine implies this will be a good thing. The last week of August, that Mercury/Venus pair will square Pluto, which will probably bring up those discussions about a career change again with those close to you. These could result from a crisis or problem with your existing career with the solution one that you arrive at with the help of someone close to you. During this same time, the Sun will conjoin Saturn, highlighting responsibility in your relationships, which may further influence any impending decisions. The second New Moon this month is also in your 7th House of relationships, implying something new is developing in this part of your life. Needless to say this will be an eventful month with lots of conversations and considerations relative to your job and career. You'll be closing out something that's been evolving for the past six months and starting into a new cycle that focuses on your work. This is some pretty heavy stuff and Pisces can get pretty, well, "piscey," when they're stressed out. Thus, make sure you get adequate rest and get away from it all from time to time to do something you enjoy. This will clear your head and help you make some of those big decisions looming ahead.
