Long-term Aspects and Lunations This month the Full Moon is in Pisces, your 4th House which comprises your home environment including your home itself and everyone in it; i.e. anything that contributes to that environment. A Full Moon usually brings an ending or culmination of one phase as it shifts to another, which is probably the case with this one since its character ties in closely with the New Moon later in the month. Expect various changes in direction and opposing forces. For example, there's an opposition between Uranus, also in your 4th House, and Saturn, who's transiting your 10th House of career, public image and reputation. It doesn't take much for these two parts of your life to be pulling against one another and these two antithetical planets are going to exacerbate that even further. Uranus is the planet of change, sudden events, surprises, disruptions, and rebellion. This probably sounds familiar since Uranus has been in this particular house since March 2003 so a somewhat chaotic atmosphere has probably become the household norm. Saturn is the planet who imposes boundaries and structure, discipline, authority and reminds us of our obligations. It certainly isn't rocket science that this is substantially different than Uranus which will serve to make these opposing forces fairly easy to identify. Saturn will be associated with issues related to your career and reputation which are going to be working against whatever you have going on at home or vice versa. Another opposition that's a bit wide in orb, but worth noting is one between Pluto and Mars. These two can be bad boys so should be watched. Pluto is in Capricorn, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, pleasures and needs while Mars is in Cancer, your 8th House of other people's resources, transformations, sex, and death. Pluto can be about power and he also is known to unearth and exhume issues that have been buried prior to proper resolution. Thus, if you have any hidden dirt associated with your finances, he'll be digging it up. Mars also packs a lot of energy but his is more about drive, assertion, and initiating activities. He can be aggressive as well so that energy can have an edge to it. Mars in the 8th is one of those placements where you do well to take it easy, consider your actions carefully and don't take any unnecessary chances, including the use of sharp objects as well as driving or any sports you pursue. It's all about energy that is difficult to control, though the Water Sign, Cancer, does put a bit of a damper on it, which in this case is a good thing. However, if you've ever crashed and burned water skiing, you know that water isn't necessary a soft place to land. Bottom line: Be Careful! Another less than friendly aspect out there is a square between Mars and Mercury. Mars, as just noted, is in your 8th and Mercury is in you 11th of friends, groups, organizations, and hopes and wishes. Mercury is about news and ideas, but also about transportation, so the implication is that some activity related to a group or organization, or perhaps simple with your friends, could present a problem or two. At any rate, if you're involved in some group excursion or something, be extra careful. There might also be problems finding funding for that type of activity. However it plays out, it doesn't look like a cakewalk. There are two quincunxes tied into this Full Moon that you need to think about. A quincunx is also known as an inconjunct for reasons too complex to explain here. It's an aspect that is somewhere between hard and soft which typically indicates the need for a change of course or adjustment. There are a lot of them out there these days so it would do well to understand that very few things are engraved in stone these days. The first one is between the New Moon and Venus, who's in your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, legal matters, higher education, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation. Sagittarius rules the Zodiacal 9th House so these things ought to feel familiar and comfortable like an old pair of shoes. Venus in this particular venue is rather pleasant, since she typically delivers good fortune. This indicates that a positive change of course related to your home environment and one or more of these 9th House items is in order. Beliefs and expectations are one of the residents and they, of course, relate to your attitude, so maybe something will occur that will make you feel better about your home situation. The other quincunx is between Saturn and Neptune. As noted earlier, Saturn and Uranus are antithetical, but Saturn and Neptune are also diametrically opposed in a variety of ways. While Saturn is about structure and boundaries, Neptune tends to dissolve what he touches and break down boundaries. You can think of this as building sandcastles which the incoming tide effortlessly flattens. Saturn is in your 10th House of career and reputation and Neptune is in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors, and short journeys. This implies that anything you had in mind for your career is likely to suffer some significant damage, that any ideas you've been pursuing are likely to vanish before your very eyes. Don't forget that Neptune has two traveling companions there in Aquarius and the stellium is pretty suspect in my book. The others are Jupiter and the asteroid, Chiron, and thus with Neptune, who functions as a astrological solvent or surfactant, we have Jupiter further inflating and expanding that activity while Chiron lies in wait to injure you in some way. Many have noticed how many illnesses and other afflictions there have been the past month or so and inevitably this trio has been involved. They are not a good combination and this is one of the times when your Sign Ruler, Jupiter, is not helping as he usually does since to inflate something that doesn't have a firm foundation or has disappointment and injury inherent in it will not end well. Thus, if you're trying to further your career and have some definite ideas on how you plan to do that, this may be trying to tell you that you're not on the right tract. Bear in mind, also, that Mercury goes retrograde on the 7th, which is a sure sign to start rethinking anything you have in work. In its most positive manifestation Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron could conceivably bring a tremendous dream come true that dissolves a life-long disappointment of some description, but somehow the odds of that don't quite make it on the radar. Maybe that's because I'm a gloom 'n' doom Cappy, but we shall see. The New Moon on the 18th has numerous aspects that are not exactly fortuitous as well. For starters, the New Moon itself, which by definition is a conjunction between the Sun and Moon, is in Virgo, your 10th House of career and reputation. This indicates that something new or a new phase of development, is coming to this part of your life. Saturn, which I described earlier as the ruler of structure, discipline, authority, responsibility and delays, is conjunct the New Moon and Mercury, who at that time is retrograde, is there as well. In a nutshell this alone says that a new phase of seriousness, responsibility and structure is required in this part of your life and that you also need to be rethinking and re-planning some aspect related to it. Opposing these four entities is Uranus, planet of disruptions, the unexpected, surprises, rebellion and for the sake of at least trying to be optimistic, innovation. Thus, any attempts to impose some structure or boundaries on your career are going to be met with opposition that attempts to tear things down as quickly as you can build them up. Pluto is squaring them from your 2nd House of finances and possessions, making it sound as if your income is going to be affected by all this as well. If your spending habits have been less frugal than they should be, this could also be a wakeup call to be more conservative. Neptune is still quincunx Saturn as was the case for the Full Moon and now that the Sun and Moon are in that same degree he's throwing his delusionary vibes on them as well, though on the positive side this could also be inspiration. A course change or adjustment is required, one way or the other regarding your thoughts on the matter, so whatever you've been considering in the past is up for review based on new circumstances. Neptune is also opposite Venus in your 9th. These two can be a nice combination in some cases, for example where you meet the love of your dreams, but this throws a bit of a yellow or even red flag. The most important thing you can do relative to this one is to make sure your thoughts, ideas, and actions are based on reality. Illusions, incorrect information, and an inability to think clearly or concentrate could easily influence your usually solid thought processes so don't make any important decisions or break out the checkbook or plastic unless everything is based on cold, hard fact in the harsh light of day. There is one, lone trine accompanying the New Moon and that is between Pluto and Venus. This aspect can help you unearth any false or unsound beliefs relative to your spending habits, how you differentiate between needs and wants, of decide if you can really afford that trip abroad or should relocate across the country. Also remember Mercury is retrograde between September 7 - 28. Purchasing any mechanical or electronic during this time is extremely ill-advised. Mercury rules movement of any sort and Mercury RX affects that in a plethora of ways. When you buy something, you essentially create a birth chart for that item and if it has Mercury RX chances are good that it's not going to function properly. Put off any planned purchases until mid-October, if possible, and if not seriously consider renting something until that time as an alternative. It will pay for itself in the long-run. Daily and Short-term Aspects September 1 - 3: If you're on a planning committee for a group or organization or simply trying to put together an outing for you and your friends, the ideas you come up with today are likely to be a bit exaggerated. No matter how good and exciting they may sound they're probably a big grander than necessary or practical. No matter how much you believe in them, the budget or an authority figure is going to shut you down in a less than friendly way. Surprises or disruptions at home are going to impact your beliefs and expectations in some manner as well. September 4: Full Moon today as described above. September 7: Mercury goes retrograde today through the 28th. Mark your calendar accordingly and don't buy anything during that time with moving parts or electronics. On the positive side, now is a favorable time to rethink, reconsider, research, and re-plan. September 8 - 10: Take a close look at your finances today and you'll be surprised what you discover. If you haven't been using a budget it's an excellent time to put one together. Be prepared to ditch any preconceived notions that aren't accurate. If you're thinking of doing something like refinance your home or some other big step that involves a loan you especially need to read the fine print and make sure you've done the math correctly. Seeing something you missed before related to your career ambitions may help you decide. On the 10th Pluto comes out of his month's long retrograde period, driving various insights and realizations about something that's been hidden away to the surface. September 11: Now is a time when your beliefs are evolving and developing as new ideas and thoughts take you places you haven't been before. Expect to make a course change as a new goal comes into view. Listen to your friends and associates at this time as some new ideas may come your way from that direction as well. September 12 - 14: If you've been entertaining any thoughts that are a bit shy on reality, your boss or someone else in authority will set you straight. This includes keeping an eye on your speedometer as well. September 15: Home and career will mix as well as oil and water today. Questioning old beliefs based on new information is also on the agenda, especially if anything wasn't based on facts. More adjustments, perhaps about how you feel about your home life, will be vying for your attention. September 16 - 17: Annoyances related to your career or someone who influences it may shatter a few beliefs or expectations today. Think of your life as an ongoing reality show. A clearer view of this part of your life may evolve from some unexpected events on the home front. News from a friend or organization will unearth some financial issues or relate to some other possession in some way. Who's in charge will be readily apparent today as well. If you think it's you make sure that those around you agree. September 18: New Moon today as described above. Mercury backs into Virgo, your 10th House of career, helping to rethink some of those issues in that part of your life. September 19 - 21: Annoyances related to seeing things more clearly in your career are apparent today. A lightbulb may come on in your head, however, that help you see the path ahead better than before. Financial forensics paired with optimistic thoughts are coming your way if you take off the rose-colored glasses. No matter how much they like you careerwise doesn't mean they'll like you at the bank, however. Be sure you're doing the right thing before you dish out any money on investments. September 22 - 23: The Sun goes into Libra today, your 11th House of groups, organizations, associations, hopes and wishes. This will bring emphasis and light to this part of your life for the coming month. Ideas related to your career or communicating with authority figures related to it is favored provided you're professional and have your ducks in a row. It will be remembered, so make it good. Your bank account probably isn't going to agree with something you want to do. Home and career won't be friendly toward each other today, either. If you didn't take off those rose-colored glasses yet, don't procrastinate any further. September 25 - 30: Big thoughts that require big money need to be scaled down to a realistic level. Unless I'm mistaken, you're not GM and the government isn't going to bail you out anytime soon. They're expecting you to bail THEM out. On the other hand, once Mercury goes direct on the 28th networking could be beneficial so give it a try. Opportunities are out there if you present a solid, factual case to the right people. Thinking of moving? Where's a good place for you? |
