Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month the Full Moon is in Pisces, your 12th House, on September 4th. The aspects involved all indicate either challenges or the need for course changes, which probably isn't much of a surprise, given how things have been going lately. First of all, the 12th House isn't typically where Rams are particularly comfortable, anyway, being it's kind of on the "woo-woo" side and Pisces typically go around singing "Kumbaya" while you're singing "Another One Bites the Dust." All this spiritual enlightenment and collective consciousness business isn't exactly high on your list of priorities, I'm sure, but that may be the exact reason why the Universe forces your attention to this area of your life at least once a year. So without further ado, here's what this lunation's aspects are going to mean to you. The Moon is quincunx Venus who's conveniently placed in your 5th House of creativity, ego, children, lovers, speculation and entertainment. The transit itself is quite pleasant, but that quincunx indicates an adjustment or course change is required at a spiritual level if you want to pursue it. In other words, if you're looking for your soul mate, you may have to change your tactics. This is especially true if the people you hang with socially aren't exactly the kind of person you'd commit to spend the rest of your life with. This is where the quote "If you keep on doing what you've always done you'll keep on getting what you've always got" comes into play. Remember that western song "Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places?" Think about it. This could also relate to pursuing your fondest dreams, no matter what they may be. Mercury is in your 7th House of relationships which will bode well for communicating with those close to you in a fair, balanced and harmonious manner. For this lunation, however, Mercury is squaring Mars, your Sign Ruler, who's swimming his way through Cancer, your 4th House of home environment. You undoubtedly know that Fire and aren't naturally compatible and thus Mars isn't particularly at his fiery best in that Sign, which may be a good thing. With these two planets in square, it looks as if there are going to be some lively discussions with family members and/or those with whom you have a one-on-one relationship. Since this is a Full Moon, which usually indicates a culmination, maybe it will at least bring some closure. Mars is opposite Pluto, who will come out of retrograde on the 10th. In the meantime this god of the Underworld is digging things up in your 10th House of career, reputation, public image and such. This could be affecting those around you or it may take a more personal direction, particularly if your birthday is on or around March 21. If you have any dirt to uncover, this will probably do it and it may stir up some trouble at home. Pluto is about transformations and could also be trying to remodel this particular area of your life. If you're deliberately trying to do something like change careers, this can work in your favor, though it probably won't be painless, regardless. Uranus, who's been hanging out in Pisces for a long, long time is opposite Saturn in your 6th House of work, health, service, and pets. Uranus loves to stir up all kinds of stuff such as unexpected events, disruptions, surprises, rebellions, and so forth, which can come quite easily from an emotional sign such as Pisces. If there's a planet that is antithetical to this kind of instability it has got to be Saturn, who is all about structure, responsibility, obligations, wisdom, patience, delays, and so forth. Since he's currently in your house of work I imagine that you're staying quite busy there and working your butt off. Remember that your 12th House contains various other elements other than all the woo-woo spiritual stuff; it also includes hidden enemies, self-undoing, institutions and confinement. So let's think about that one for a moment or so as there are numerous things there that you can probably relate to in one way or another. Is there anyone who might be trying to undermine you under the guise of being helpful? Do you have any self-defeating behaviors that can work against you? As far as institutions and confinement are concerned, if Saturn is manifesting as a health issue for you, then there is the possibility that it could result in missing work or, worst case, being in the hospital. Another possibility that hopefully doesn't apply to you is the fact that Saturn can also represent authority and that 12th House includes such lovely environs as jail; this is NOT the time to ignore outstanding parking tickets. At any rate, progressing at work on any projects you're working on is likely to be riddled with a plethora of disruptions, surprises, and various other annoyances that keep you from getting where you want. As a Full Moon you can always hope this means the culmination of these types of events, but only time will tell since a Full Moon may only mean the end of a phase and not an ending per se. Another possible hindrance to getting anywhere with your work is the fact that Saturn is also quincunx Neptune, another planet that is far from harmonious with Saturn. Neptune tends to dissolve and break down what he contacts while Saturn imposes structure on things. The King of the Deep is residing in Aquarius, where he's been for a long time, which represents your 11th House of groups, friends, coworkers, and goals. Neptune can bring inspiration, but he just as easily can bring delusions and illusions. Maybe you need to take a close look at what you're trying to accomplish and make sure your goals are realistic. Neptune is currently paired up with the asteroid, Chiron, and Jupiter, in a rather tight stellium, though it's gradually dissipating a bit; once the three of them come out of retrograde, however, they'll converge again. I seriously suspect this trio of being responsible for that swine flu pandemic a few months ago, which is supposed to ramp up again this winter. Bear in mind that the stellium will be very tight again in the December timeframe. At any rate, this trio probably isn't exactly helping you to get anything constructive done with regard to your goals and as far as your friends and any organizations are concerned, you probably spend a lot of time brainstorming and/or drinking but not doing much else. Therefore, if you want to get anything done it is probably time that you made a few adjustments. You ought to be able to figure it out from there. So thus shines this months' Full Moon. The New Moon on the 18th occurs in Virgo, your aforementioned 6th House of work, health and pets. We talked a bit about Saturn earlier and its opposition to Uranus and quincunx with Neptune and all of this is being highlighted even further by the New Moon. Thus, if this is something that you had hoped would end, it doesn't appear to be the case, but rather it's moving into a new phase and now it's on steroids. Thus, your best bet is to reread the above as the way it's going to be this month and put together your battle plan. Especially note that Mercury, which is tied into all this, is retrograde, implying that something needs to be reviewed and redone. Less than enchanting news, I know, but better than having it bite you later. One favorable aspect with the New Moon, or at least somewhat so, is a trine between Venus in your 5th House of creativity, kids, romance, and so forth with Pluto in your House of career and reputation. This could mean anything from romantic involvement with your boss to using your creativity to take advantage of all the corporate renovations in effect. Or maybe it's good for teaching your children a bit about what happens if they don't follow the rules. A less favorable aspect is Venus opposite Neptune, which could set you up for some illusions, deceptions or delusions about one of your kids or lovers. Fortunately, Venus moves quickly so whatever that happens to be about should be finished by next month. Short Term/Daily Aspects September 1 - 3: Your group interactions are going to be more demanding than usual and thus interfering with your homelife and relationships. It's going to be difficult to come to agreement with those you're close to as you're going to be seeing the worth through two entirely separate knotholes. Hard though it may be, try to listen at least as much as you talk and try to understand, even if you don't agree. Your reaction to some of this may take you by surprise and hit you at a deeper level than you usually operate. September 7: Mercury goes retrograde which is going to call your attention to some relationship issues that need to be readdressed. September 8 - 10: Activities you enjoy are going to take a hit if you want to advance your career or reputation and this is probably not going to be pretty. You can just about count on it stirring up some trouble at home, which will be especially annoying. Pluto goes direct on the 10th, which, if you're lucky, will see an end to the digging career-wise and start you on the path to recovery. You can always hope. September 11: Dialogs with those close to you about your goals or perhaps how you spend your time socializing or whatever is going to be coming from two entirely different sides. Your attitude toward work, how much you believe in your goals, and the amount of time you spend socializing with coworkers are going to call for some adjustments. Conversations with those close to you, particularly your kids or romantic interests, are going to a bit tense. September 12 - 14: More adjustments related to work that involve your boss and coworkers are required. You relationships with some of these people may not be what you thought. Mercury retrograde is nudging you to rethink a few things in that regard. September 15: Changes at a deeper level than you usually care to travel will be on your mind today, perhaps due to a situation at work. What you enjoy doing is in a tug-o-war with work or other projects. It's time to rethink what means the most to you and whether or not your priorities reflect the same order. September 16 - 17: Relationships versus your work responsibilities are not a pretty sight. Make sure that what you're working for is real and not an illusion created by others who can benefit from your hard work while they sit back and relax. Think about what you really want out of life and whether that's where you're headed. If you assert yourself, anyone with any degree of authority over you is likely to make a fuss. September 18: Mercury retreats into Virgo today, stimulating your thoughts about what needs redoing at work, whether it's a specific project or simply your attitude. September 19 - 20: Work and relationships are still not compatible. Today is a good one to think about why and whether it's worth it. Another consideration is whether work has interfered with your relationships in the past. Which do you love more? Do you know? Venus goes into Virgo today, which will at least make conversations in the workplace a bit more civil. Maybe. September 21: Lively conversations with the folks at home continue. Conversations with members of the opposite sex will still be a bit scratchy. September 22 - 23: The Sun goes into Libra, your polar sign, today. This will help everyone see things in a fairer perspective. Thoughts and ideas and conversations pertaining to work and projects will be thick today. You may face off with someone on a power trip at work which will bring your thoughts back to whether you're really where you belong at this stage of your life. Look at some of your goals, use whatever inspiration comes your way, then give it a sanity check. September 24 - 30: Keep looking at your goals and expand upon them in a practical way. Those close to you may not be very supportive, but don't let that deter you from where you need to go. Opportunities for communicating more clearly with those at home are out there, so put them to good use. What's in store for you in 2009? Find out with a Solar Return Report!
