Long-term Aspects and Lunations This month the Full Moon occurs on November 2 in Taurus, your 6th House of work, service, health and pets. Work in his respect includes not only your daily work, such as what you do in your job, but also those things that you do to occupy your time, particularly where you produce something, or also things you tend to or take care of or maintain. It also pertains to acts of service you provide, such as to a volunteer organization, though the organization itself is included in the 11th House of groups. It could even relate to something as simple as completing obedience training with your dog or some other event pertaining to your pets. One year when I had a New Moon in my 6th House, my cichlid fish had babies, which was a first time event for me, so you get the idea. More dramatically it could indicate a time when you leave a job or other project. I'm sure if you think along these lines you'll be able to identify how this lunation applies to you. As always the aspects accompanying a Full or New Moon further defines its influence. In this case, the most obvious one is a T-Square created by Mars in fellow Fire Sign, Leo, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, long-distance travel, other cultures and relocation. Sagittarius rules the Zodiacal 9th House, so these are things that have a lot of meaning for you and Mars is in that vicinity, providing energy and drive that could conceivably creative some conflicts with your work. Since a Full Moon by definition is an opposition between the Sun and the Moon, the Sun at this time is in Scorpio, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, inspiration, confinement, institutions, self-undoing, and hidden enemies. Mars is square the Sun as well, creating challenges in this area. The 12th is a bit of a woo-woo house that contains a confluence of unseen, intangible concepts, yet they can have a power influence in our lives. If Mars is stirring things up in your house of beliefs and expectations, it's not surprising that this will splash on how you feel about your work as well as things of a spiritual nature; your spiritual essence is going to manifest in your actions and your beliefs are going to drive both. Thus, if you've been experiencing what could be a vague dissatisfaction with regard to work or any other activities that fit the 6th House definition, this could be the root cause. Mercury conjunct the Sun is also part of the T-Square and thus pulling your thought process into the game. Perhaps you're feeling limited or confined by your work, causing you to give considerable thought to who and what you are. Mars can bring aggression and in your 9th can motivate you to defend your beliefs, expectations or other 9th house entities, such as politics and religion, in a direct or even combative manner. If your work and spiritual values aren't in synch with your core beliefs, then this conflict will be even more evident. Since this is a Full Moon, maybe it marks the resolution of such struggles, or perhaps it's the culmination of various events that have brought you to this particular platform. Another hard aspect to note for this lunation is a square between Pluto and Saturn. These two bad boys are in your 2nd and 11th Houses, respectively, where they have been messing with those things that you value versus those things that involve others. Pluto in the 2nd, which is a transit that is going to be in effect for literally years, will have a variety of effects on your possessions, finances, pleasures, needs, and personal values. Pluto's job as the Zodiacal roto-rooter is to unearth those things that have been buried, outlived their usefulness, or require rejuvenation. While this could be as simple as cleaning out the attic and garage, it could also pertain to old personal values you're holding onto, yet they no longer serve any useful purpose. Same goes for your financial situation; clearly in today's economy, investments perform differently than in the past so this may also be a call to rework your portfolio. This transit will be no more painful than you require it to be to take appropriate action. Saturn's function is to define boundaries, impose structure, enforce responsibilities and provide those hard lessons in life from which we gain wisdom. In your 11th House of groups, organizations, friends, hopes, wishes and goals, his job will be to bring more seriousness and perhaps discipline to this part of your life. If you've been haphazard at all about pursuing your goals in a methodical way, then Saturn is going to help you put that House in order. It's not rocket science to see that these two could easily have a very positive effect, though certainly not be considered a good time. This square will be in effect for several months, giving you plenty of opportunity to put things in order and get rid of things you no longer need. If your life has been too cluttered or old issues are taking up too much of your time, Pluto will take care of it, and if you need to balance your activities with others or your goals more effectively, then Saturn is your man. This should not be an onerous transit for you, though other signs are not so lucky. Another T-Square associated with the Full Moon comprises Venus and the Lunar Nodes. Venus just happens to be in your 11th House along with Saturn, indicating some pleasant interactions with those with whom you socialize on either a personal or professional level. The North Node is in your 2nd House along with Pluto, and indicates something coming into your life while the South Node is in your 8th House of transformations, which indicates something going out of your life. Pulling all these influences together yields pleasant experiences in your group interactions that will ultimately influence something coming into your house of finance (assuming more income though it could be something else you value) as you learn to let go of something else through a transformation process of some description. For example, maybe you'll have a profound spiritual experience with a group of some description after which you'll pay off all your debts (also an 8th House matter) and then embrace entirely new and different personal values. This is but one way this could show up, to give you an idea. It's worth noting that the North Node, awaiting something new in your house of possessions, is also sextile Uranus in your 4th House of home environment, pulling this venue into the mix. Uranus is the planet of surprises, unexpected events, rebellion, freedom and disruptions. He's been in our 4th House for quite a while and isn't leaving anytime soon. However, changes of some sort in your home life are going to provide an opportunity for financial benefit or to change your values, a change of course that will somehow trace back to favorable or profitable endeavors that involve others. Venus is also trine Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, both of whom are resident in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings, and short journeys. The one caution with Neptune in this house is that he can tend you toward being too idealistic and not seeing things as they really are. A trine, however, can be more on the inspirational side, so perhaps an experience within your social circle will provide you with some form of enlightenment. The trine to Chiron could provide the balm for getting past a disappointment or other painful experience such that you can move on, unencumbered. All in all, there is really nothing about this Full Moon that should hit you like a train. More likely it will come and go unnoticed, which is a nice break once in a while. As noted earlier, there are a few signs who will definitely remember this Full Moon and not in a particularly affectionate manner. The New Moon on November 16 occurs in Scorpio, your 12th House of all those woo-woo things described above. This could also bring pleasant experiences your way in the form of inspiration, enlightenment or new visions for the future. The New Moon is squaring Neptune and Chiron, however, so this implies some spiritual conflicts. The New Moon could signify some new esoteric knowledge you discover that isn't quite in synch with your current thoughts or presents a challenge of some sort. Again, this is unlikely to be earth-shattering, but will present some mental activity with regard to your higher self. Mars is still in your 9th House of beliefs and he's squaring Venus in the 12th, again suggesting some conflicts related to your beliefs. This is as good of place as any to remind you that your spirituality resides in your 12th House whereas religion is in the 9th. This could well be a time of questioning your religious affiliations if they do not promote those things that you have experienced on the spiritual level. There's a Sextile Pattern that ties the New Moon, North Node, and Uranus together in a closed loop of opportunity. In a nutshell, the New Moon is bringing something new to your spiritual side which will create opportunities for finding a new direction, particularly as they relate to your personal values, which in turn will provide opportunities for change within your home environment. This is not to say that you'll run off and join the Hare Krishnas or Mormons, but you never know.
