Long-term Aspects and Lunations

The Full Moon this month is on May 8th in Scorpio, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, institutions, confinement and hidden enemies. Expect this to bring some adjustments to your thinking about the stability in your life, particularly as it pertains to your career, and how best to move forward. Thoughts and ideas on a plane that is somewhat unfamiliar to you are also out there for most of the month as Jupiter, Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, maintain a close triple conjunction in your 3rd House. Brainstorms and inspiration will be occupying your mind a lot and it's important that you take a hard look at what develops. Bear in mind that it might be a bit outside the realm of your usual ruminations and possibly outside reality as well, but still pay close attention to what lies beneath the surface. Over-confidence is another pitfall to watch out for, although it's also possible that a bit of luck may come your way, particularly if you birthday lies roughly between December 14 - 19. The most interesting element in this configuration is Chiron, the wounded healer. Chiron influences the various physical, emotional and mental injuries we sustain from which we extract the lessons and then use our hard-earned wisdom to comfort others in similar situations. The general theme can thus translate into a very charitable one during which you should take a good look at how you give back to society.

Another theme of this lunation will be career and job issues. If you aren't satisfied with your current employment it's time to give that some serious thought along with what it will take to fix it. Yet another is centered on relationships, specifically those of a romantic nature or perhaps involving your children. Anything that has been ignored, buried, or kept secret will be vying for attention, which you should heed. When we feel threatened or insecure in a relationship, we tend to hang on tighter, which usually serves the opposite purpose and drives the person further from us. Relationships comprise the essence of the individuals involved and as these people evolve, the relationship will change. Anything that isn't moving forward is actually regressing, so it's best to keep up or you may be trampled. Address any issues of this description candidly and honestly such that they can be properly resolved, whatever it takes. Most of the month Mars and Venus will be in conjunction in Aries, which is going to further stir up those relationship issues.

Saturn goes direct at last on May 16 after spending four and a half months pedaling backwards. This has been taking place in your 10th House of career and reputation, further implying that something in that part of your life needed some restructuring. Around this time, particularly with the help of that Full Moon, you'll be figuring this out and then have the next few months to implement whatever you decide needs to be done. The cosmos is just full of practical jokes, however, because ten days before Saturn goes direct Mercury goes retrograde. This won't help your forward thought processes any though in all fairness it is useful for rethinking and replanning, which may be exactly what you need to be doing. Just remember not to buy anything electronic or mechanical during that time, particularly a house or car.

The New Moon is on May 24 in Gemini and if your birthday is within a few days of November 25th this will surely stir up some relationship matters for you to deal with. Deep insights are possible if you pay attention, which will help you to resolve a few things, though a few adjustments in your previous take on things will be required.

Daily and Short-term Aspects

Between May 1 - 9 Venus and Pluto will be squared off, which will probably stir up something that will launch those relationship discussions. Something good is on the horizon at work around the 5th, though either your love interest or your children will interfere with something going on with your career and necessitate a few adjustments. On the 16th the Sun will be squaring that Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron stellium in your 3rd House of thoughts, which is going to throw you into philosophical mode over something. Sagittarians love this sort of stimulation, however, so you'll be in your element. There's a good chance this is going to relate to work, so accept the challenge graciously and show them how capable you are.

On May 18th the Sun and Mercury will be in conjunction. Remember that Mercury will be retrograde at this time, so this is telling you to rethink or redo something that is probably going to not only also relate to work but to you, personally, as well. Lots of decisions are vying for attention these days so be on the lookout for answers. May 20th will be an interesting day as well. Today is not a good day to make any key decisions. You're likely to be confused easily and watch out for deception as well. You may think you're coming up with some exceptionally brilliant ideas, but in reality they're not going to hold water. That same day a change of direction may be required in your career due to speculations, your love life or kids. This won't necessarily be a problem but could come about from an onslaught of creativity that sets you on a path in a different direction. Something unexpected will come up at home on the 21st which will actually give you some ideas on how to get things straightened out at work or regarding that project you're working on these days.

A Catch-22 situation that relates to your finances or values as well as a relationship is on the agenda for the 23rd. If you're following directions about those relationship issues, this may be the date when you really start to figure out what the problem is and get down to business; remember that the following day, i.e. the 24th, that New Moon will happen. On the 26th Mars will sextile that 3rd House stellium, which is going to throw a whole bunch of creative energy and drive to take action in that direction. This should be a good thing, because opportunities are out there, but remember to be wary of deception or ideas that transcend reality. Over-confidence in these delusions could make you look pretty silly if you don't handle it in a sensible manner.

There's a lot of relationship energy out there this month along with a lot of mental action. Sagittarians love this sort of thing so you will be in your element. Just make sure that you don't get so excited about something that you fail to give it a reality check. There's a lot of inspiration out there, but also the tendency to get carried away, which will turn around and bite you in a rather vicious manner if you're not careful. Don't put off resolving those relationship issues any longer. The Cosmos is lending you a hand to identify them and once you do that you're well-advised to take care of business so you can move on. You'll be glad you did.
