This month there are a couple of long-term aspects that will get your attention in one way or another.  These involve outer planets that move slowly and take their time influencing various parts of your life according to their house placement.  One of these that will be working some of these long-term projects is Pluto, who in January entered Capricorn, your Natural 11th House of groups, associations, friends, co-workers, and hopes and wishes.  Pluto moves so slowly, especially with all his retrograde (RX) cycles, that he won't leave Capricorn permanently until November 2024.  Thus, you may as well settle in for the long-haul.  Planetary transits, especially by Pluto, are only painful when there's work to be done that you ignore, deny, or simply refuse to face.  If there is anything worth digging up, Pluto, as the Zodiacal backhoe, will find it.  This can be quite a messy process, somewhat like exhuming a grave or digging up sewer lines, but when all is said and done and the dirt put back in place, the grass grows back and everything is just hunky-dorey.  At least this is the way it is when Pluto encounters a planet or a House cusp to grind on.  While traversing an entire House, it will be more like tearing up your entire yard, front and back, and re-landscaping every, last square foot.  Again, when all is said and done, things will be better off, but there will still be numerous months of dirt tracked in on the carpet to deal with in the mean time.

While Pluto is marching through your 11th House he is going to be forcing you to take some long, hard, serious looks at your group activities.  If you have a certain cluster of friends you hang with, any associations of which you're a member, a workgroup of any description, or anything that involves groups of people, you'll be finding out all sorts of dirty little secrets in the coming months and years.  This could be about the people as individuals or about the organization itself.  You'll be forced to consider why you are there and whether or not this is working for you or not.  If there is anything about it that doesn't quite do it for you, more than likely you'll realize that you need to decide whether or not to continue in that venue.  This can be a good thing as we frequently outgrow such activities and it's time to move on, but simply out of habit, or fear of hurting someone's feelings, or disappointing someone in authority, or any number of other excuses, we hang in there past the point of diminishing returns.

As you undoubtedly know, Pisceans thrive on transcending reality.  They get these thrills in a variety of ways, but get them, they do, or they can become very disillusioned and depressed.  Idealism often fuels these endeavors as well, setting them up even for eventual burn-out when this particular pinnacle is never reached by either them or those around them.  Another 11th House element is your hopes and wishes.  Have they been realistic?  Have they been tied into ulterior motives?    If you haven't attained them, why not?  Do you sabotage yourself in some way?  At any rate, these are the kind of questions Pluto will be throwing at you in one form or another for the next 16 1/2 years or so.  One thing to remember during this time is that Pluto rules fellow Water Sign, Scorpio, so there will probably be quite a bit that makes sense to you at a very basic level, which should be a good thing.

During May, Saturn will trine Pluto and thus combine their energies and raisons d'être.  Saturn is currently hanging out in Virgo, your 7th House of personal relationships.  These are not just significant other-type relationships, but all one-on-ones, including close friends and relatives as well as business partners and so forth.  Saturn is all about discipline, structure, and obligations and while he's trooping through Virgo, this will take on that Sign's meticulous, detail-oriented, hard-working flavor, which will last until July 2010.  Not quite as long a guest as Pluto, but hardly short-term, either.  When you take that all together, it means that Saturn will be working on your relationships to bring more structure and discipline to them, right down to the finest detail.  As they say, the devil's in the details, and it's the little things that make or break relationships.

As a Water Sign, Pisces are very emotionally driven.  They are sensitive and compassionate, sometimes to a fault, but if they ever get angry they can be incredibly vindictive and long-suffering in attaining their objectives.  Unfortunately, some Pisces get their ya-ya's by pulling other people's chains on a regular basis.  Thus, they can be quite a handful in a relationship.  I would even bet that the nursery rhyme that went "There was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead.  When she was good, she was very, very good, and when she was bad she was horrid" was written about a Pisces.  If you are a Pisces and have any inclination toward these tendencies, then Saturn is going to do his absolute level best to help you get past some of these behaviors that honk up your relationships.  Or, in the event it's not YOU that has a problem, it will allow you to see the kind of people you're hanging with through new eyes and give you the information you need to decide whether or not you're with the right people.

So, we have Pluto working on your group interactions and Saturn working on your relationships and during May these two are going to be working together.  It's important here to note that a trine is a harmonious aspect that will allow these two to interact in what should be a positive, comfortable manner.  Perhaps the lesson in this aspect will be to compare how you interact in a group setting versus how you interact with those closest to you.  Do they see the same person?  Would your groupies think you walk on water while those close to you think you invented water-boarding?  How does your sense of idealism affect these two venues?  Do you forgive flaws more readily in your associates than you do your loved ones?  With Virgo on your 7th House cusp, you may tend to be a bit of a nag and too perfectionistic about your relationships.  Now is a time to examine and contrast your behavior in different settings along with the problems you may experience that relate back to how you act.  During this month these will be some of the things you should consider.  Again, there is the hopes and wishes element of the 11th House.  Are your relationships part of these or contrary to their attainment?  Do you know what your cherished hopes and wishes really are?  Have you shared them with your significant other?  You're intuitive by nature, but not everyone else is.  Are you expecting them to just know what means a lot to you without telling them?  Again, give it some thought.

A complementary aspect that is also in effect all month will be Jupiter throwing a sextile to Uranus.  Jupiter is also in your House of groups, friends, associations and hopes & wishes.  Jupiter is usually generally lucky and expands or escalates what he touches.  A sextile usually brings an opportunity, and with Uranus involved it may be a surprise or unexpected in some manner.  Uranus is in Pisces, your 1st House of personality, so whatever this is, it will be about you and more than likely something you'll like.  Maybe your friends will give you something special or an organization will present you with an award of some type.  At any rate, it should be something good, perhaps even an opportunity to advance yourself in some way.  Don't confuse this with your job, however, your 6th House of work, health and pets will be hosting Mars from May 9th forward.  This should give you plenty of drive and energy in that regard, yet it could also indicate some aggression in that area.  You'll be more assertive than usual and it might set off others.  Guard you health as well.

Most of this month the Sun and Venus will be helping this process along by their presence in your 3rd House of thoughts, neighbors, and short journeys.  In other words, your mind should be active and of a positive bent, which will help you sort some of these things out in a clear manner.  The New Moon on May 5th should also bring along something like a new thought or insight that will help this process along.  Just for the record, the Full Moon on May 19 occurs in Scorpio, your 9th House of long-distance travel, legal matters and beliefs (which includes religion and politics), implying that something in this area of your life should culminate.

Mercury, the communication giant, will spend most of the month in Gemini, your 4th House of home environment.  This will enhance communications in this area of your life, which will come in handy if any of those relationship issues also reside with you under the same roof.  Note that between May 26 through June 19, however, Mercury will go into one of his obnoxious retrograde phases.  This tends to mess up communications in general, from cell phones and computers to human conversations.  It's a favorable time, however, to rethink, re-do, and re-plan.  Making progress during this time is usually futile, so it works best to simply make sure you have all your ducks in a row rather than try and move forward during that time.

All in all there's a lot going on this month for you.  Much of it is on the relationship front and there's a lot of fuel for personal introspection.  It's an excellent time for examining your fondest hopes and what really makes you tick.  You need a fairly steady diet of some form of excitement or transcendence, and if you're not getting what you need, it won't be a pretty sight.  If a Water Sign ever gets to the point where they're going under for the third time they inevitably try to take as many people with them as possible.  Everyone will be a lot happier if you settle on snorkeling instead.
