Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month the Full Moon, which usually indicates the culmination of something, is in Virgo, your 8th House of sex, death/ regeneration, other people's money, and transformations. If your birthday is within a few days of February 9 you're more likely to notice something significant. The New Moon on the 26th occurs in Aries, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, and short journeys. This implies that something new is coming your way in one of these venues. Either you'll hatch a new idea, learn something new, see something differently than before, meet a new neighbor or perhaps visit somewhere close to home that you've never been before. Also note that your 3rd House is where Venus will be retrograde this month. This implies subconscious thought activity relative to your relationships and values as well as your beliefs. If there's anything amiss in this area of your life, it's going to be rumbling around and seeking new structure or basis than you've relied on in the past.

From March 14 - 31 Saturn will be quincunx Jupiter. A quincunx usually indicates an adjustment or change in plans, a shift in direction from where you originally thought you were heading. It can also bring about a Catch-22 situation where none of the options are particularly enchanting. Jupiter is in your 1st House of personality and Saturn is also in your 8th, along with that Full Moon. Jupiter tends to expand what he touches and in your 1st House he could be stroking your ego and confidence, maybe even a bit too much. This contact with Saturn is likely to take care of any excesses in that area in short order. Saturn is the stern task-master of the zodiacal set that instills discipline, wisdom, and experience to us, whatever it takes. His visits to a given house seldom bring great rejoicing, though his lessons are usually valuable. Also note that Saturn is your ancient sign ruler, before the discovery of Uranus. The fact that he's retrograde makes it even more interesting, but that was covered at length last month so please refer to that for more information.

When you mix all of that together, it appears that something is going to come along that will make a difference in how you see the world. The 8th House comprises transformations, those experiences after which we're never quite the same again. They aren't necessarily earthshaking or dramatic, but they change us in some way. Jupiter is also associated with ethics, which could come into play here as well, particularly considering what Venus is up to concurrently. A major reassessment of some part of your life is coming and you can bet dollars to donuts that it will change you in some way.

Short-term Aspects

This month the houses with the most astrological traffic are your 2nd House of values, finance, possessions and pleasure and 3rd, as defined earlier. This implies a lot of mental activity as opposed to physical. The month starts out with Mercury throwing a quincunx to Saturn, a precursor regarding what to expect later in the month in the way of major shifts in perception. You will be very inclined to express yourself quite forcefully at that time, so if you find people backing away from you consider you may be coming on a bit too strong. On the 5th there are a couple possibilities as Mercury and Neptune form a conjunction. Mercury determines how we communicate and think whereas Neptune is dreamy, inspirational, intangible, and other-worldly. This astrological encounter could result in some major inspiration or some major illusions. Any ideas you may be developing could either evaporate entirely or explode in a burst of inspiration. Since both planets will be in your 1st House, you will reflect these characteristics in how you communicate, so again, if people are backing away from you, giving you that "deer in the headlight" look, or generally look confused, you are probably talking not only over their head but in another dimension.

On the 6th Venus goes retrograde in Aries, your aforementioned 3rd House. Venus RX tends to operate deep within our subconscious and this will be even more likely in your house of thoughts and ideas. Ruminations about your deepest values, your relationships, and even your standard of living as it relates to your income will be rumbling around beneath the surface.

Mercury goes into Pisces on the 8th, which will be a very natural transition after this encounter with Pisces' ruler, Neptune. On this same day Mars will have his encounter with Neptune, which could have the same result except this time it will be your drive and energy that either explodes in a brilliant flash or smothers beneath the proverbial wet blanket. Also on this day the Sun will oppose Saturn, so if you don't know by then what's going to evoke some significant changes in your life, you should get a few hints. The Sun is spending most of the month in Pisces, your 2nd House of finance, possessions, values, and pleasures, highlighting that area of your life. Saturn in your 8th House could be about debt, so this could bring a major confrontation with the reality of your checkbook balance, which could be scarier for some of you than a Stephen King movie.

The Full Moon a few days later on the 10th may be quite enlightening. Also on the 10th expect some insights and inspiration regarding your financial situation. It may be an increased awareness of past mistakes, an in-depth view into what is going on with your investments, or any number of things, but this will be a good day to spend some time figuring a few things out. On the 11th you may be more inclined than usual to be a bit conceited or over-confident, even though an idea that's a product of those behaviors may well present an opportunity of some description if you're paying attention. Expect the unexpected on the 12th when you may discover something about your finances that takes you entirely by surprise. This could go either way, i.e. either quite good or rather unfortunate, so be ready for anything. On the 13th members of the opposite sex may be getting on your last nerve, or it may simply be someone resisting your latest brainstorm.

On the 18th some news will break that will provide yet another hint of what's going on in your 8th House that is going to result in some major shifts in how you perceive the world. It's going to take months before all is said and done with this issue, whatever it is, but you should be getting a pretty good idea on what it might be by now unless you're in extreme denial or deliberately ignoring it. On the 19th watch your back, even though it may simply be a sudden awareness of being taken advantage of by someone you thought you could trust some time in the past. Insights into the past and perhaps rummaging through some old baggage will actually help develop a new opportunity for income of some description. The Sun goes into Aries on the 20th, bringing its light to your 3rd House of thoughts and so forth, which should be a good thing. There's nothing like have the light of day on those things we're trying to accomplish.

On the 21st more unexpected news is on the way, perhaps of a disruptive nature, is coming, though it may not necessarily be bad, just surprising. Insights into past mistakes or other unresolved issues is on the agenda for the 23rd. You may also suddenly realize once again that everyone who claims to be your friend isn't. There are people out there who undermine us, even unintentionally, and if there's anyone like that in your life you're likely to find them at this time. The New Moon on the 26th will initiate a new train of thought, or bring about some other 3rd House element as described above. The next day on the 27th more information will be forthcoming relative to that old baggage you're toting around or that individual who fits into the category of "with friends like that, who needs enemies." A considerable review of what constitutes a true friend will follow, either consciously or unconsciously, with a lot of black and white information coming your way on the 30th.

This month is going to be a busy one on the mental plane. As an Air Sign, this is familiar ground for you. You're logical by nature, yet can think outside the box and be very innovative, but most your decisions are made with your head as opposed to your heart. Some of these paradigms will come up for review over the course of March and into April as well as beyond. This is what growth and progress is all about, so keep attuned to what the Universe tosses your way and use it to progress as the Universe would have you do.
