Long Term Aspects

There are three long-term aspects out there this month that you need to keep in the back of your mind. The first one is that Saturn - Uranus opposition, which will be in effect until mid-March. These two are about as incompatible as planets can get, except possibly for Mars and Neptune. Saturn is all about stability, structure, responsibility and obligations while Uranus is all about change, rebellion, surprises and disruptions, making them worthy opponents. If you were forced to choose sides, no doubt Aries would go with the latter, but the planets don't always give you that option. Saturn is currently in your 6th House of work, health and pets. This is more than likely making you feel pretty weighted down with the daily crap of making a living and bringing home a paycheck. As if that's not bad enough, there's more.

Saturn is currently retrograde, meaning he's up to something. When he's RX he tends to encapsulate something that needs rebuilding which usually comes in the form of one of your natal planets with whom he's making contact. Since I can't possibly know where all my readers' natal planets are, the only one we'll talk about is the Sun and that applies most heavily to those of you whose birthday is between April 4 - 11. If you're one of those folks, he's going to give be gradually taking you from one plan to another as far as work is concerned. You may think you're doing one thing in the long-haul, but he's probably got something else in mind. This is also going to be influenced significantly by Uranus, who's stirring things up over there in your 12th House of inspiration, dreams, spirituality and hidden enemies. If you're dissatisfied or frustrated with work and your Aries independence is chomping at the bit, you can pretty well figure out where this is going. Those two will be doing the tango until mid-March, when Uranus will drop out of the picture, but Saturn will keep nagging at your subconscious until mid-May if there's anything about your work that's not quite right. There's also a chance this will relate to your health, so if you're ignoring something in that area, you can expect that will end about the same time. Come mid-May you'll have a good idea what needs to be done and if you get your act together, by the end of August you'll have something new and improved all ready to go. It won't necessarily be easy, but then Aries tend to thrive on a good challenge.

Another long-term aspect to think about is that Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on February 9. It may seem to come and go quickly but the effects could hang around as long as six months. Leo is your 5th House of children, romance, entertainment, creativity, speculation, and ego. This lunar eclipse is the companion to the solar eclipse that occurred in Aquarius, your 11th House of groups, associations, friends, hopes & wishes on January 25. If you're a March Aries, then this is quite likely to have stirred things up in that area, possibly giving you a friendly shove toward involvement in a different group and perhaps motivating you to deepen a relationship of some description. The solar eclipse was the event/action side and the lunar eclipse this month is the emotional/internal absorption side. Take another look at those 5th House elements and see which one fits your situation, then consider if anything unusual or possibly even outstanding has occurred in that area in the last few weeks. The solar eclipse part can be in effect for as long as a year, the lunar for six months, so keep an eye on those areas and see what develops. Eclipses call attention to things in a less than subtle manner. If there's anything you've been sweeping under the rug, then be prepared for it to come out like a West Texas dust devil.

Last but far from least in the long-term department is Pluto, who's now settling into Capricorn, your 10th House of career and reputation. Pluto will have the strongest affect this month on Rams whose birthday lies between March 22 - 24. While Saturn is stirring things up at work, Pluto will be forcing you to take a good, hard look at your career goals and ambitions as well as your reputation. Career as represented by the 10th House is what you'll be known and remembered for, the mark you leave on the world, whereas your 6th House where Saturn is hard at work, relates to your day job. If you don't understand the difference, ask any artist, actor, writer, and numerous astrologers and they'll tell you in no uncertain terms. However, the Universe, in its ultimate wisdom, is working on both areas for you so that you can somehow bring the two together and have the satisfaction you crave for all those hours you spend earning a paycheck. If your birthday is later, your day is coming, but probably not for a while. Nonetheless, it's a good exercise to think about how you spend your time versus how you'd spend it if you didn't need that paycheck.

These are the biggies going on in the background these days that will be in force for quite a while. It's good to be aware of them and use them for a compass of where you're going. The daily aspects will usually support them and stir up the events and thoughts required to keep you on the right path, but if you're a willing partner and understand what's going on, it makes it all the easier.

Short Term/Daily Aspects

Venus goes into Aries on February 3, which will do wonders for your natural charm. You'll be on better than usual behavior and others will find you more attractive. If you have anything you need to do that can benefit from this planetary gift, then have at it. Mars, your Sign Ruler, goes into Aquarius on February 4th. Aquarius, as noted earlier, is your 11th House of groups, associations, friends, and so forth. This will bring a lot of energy to this venue and if you've changed your associations at all in the last little while, this will give you plenty of drive to find your place therein. Just don't come on too strong as you make your entrance or you might not like the result. Around that same time, your natural charm and abilities may be stirring up some trouble in the career department if you're considered threatening to some of the lesser individuals. Be prepared for a power play by someone, or to find out something that you didn't know before that someone tries to use against you. This influence will be strongest around the 5th, so be on the lookout.

On the 7th, don't believe everything your coworkers or friends tell you because there's a high probability it's not entirely true. The deception will be annoying, particularly if you fall for it, so don't believe everything you see or hear. Some competition is mustering their forces, but remember to not get mad; get even. Now is the time to really turn on that charm. About this same time, expect something to come up with your coworkers or regarding a project you're working on that is going to require a new approach. A Catch-22 situation will arise that will necessitate a change of plan. This is all a part of that work being done by Saturn, so pay attention if you need a clue what's going on in that area. On the 9th expect the unexpected as someone or something gives you a big "Aha!" moment. This is about the same time that the lunar eclipse occurs, which will draw attention to something related to your creativity, ego, children, or recreational activities. This should be something of a favorable nature, so keep an eye out.

However, a few days later on the 11th, some competition or other conflict is going to arise with your coworkers that will give you even more to think about regarding that day job. Watch your back during this time frame, also, as if there's anyone who pretends to be your friend, but really isn't, they're likely to do something at this time to undermine you. This could come via deception or inaccurate information that someone gives you, trying to make you look foolish. Nonetheless, the truth will come out quickly and if you handle it properly it will work to your advantage, particularly as more information surfaces shortly thereafter. Opportunity are out there, particularly as you harness that charm for all it's worth. Just remember to keep it in line and not let it slip into over-confidence. A little humility can go a long way if properly applied. A huge burst of energy and activity is coming on the 17th, so put it to good use.

The Sun goes into Pisces, your 12th House, on the 18th. This same day Venus will sextile your buddy, Mars, which will make you quite formidable, particularly with the opposite sex. If you're trying to charm someone into doing you a favor, now is the time, and it's also good for pursuing any hopes and wishes you have bouncing around out there. A speedbump or two will come along regarding your work and that Saturn issue that's ruminating away, but consider it more useful information relative to your long-term goals. On the 20th expect a disruption you hadn't planned for, but finding a solution that no one else could imagine is favored the next day, which will bring an opportunity your way. A major announcement of some sort is coming on the 24th, so keep your antennae deployed for that.

The New Moon on the 25th is in your 12th House of inspiration, spirituality, dreams, and hidden enemies. Something new will be coming your way from there. Expressing yourself clearly and with enough charm to sell ice to Eskimos will be yours that same day, and may or may not be connected. On the 27th your Sign Ruler, Mars, will be irritating Pluto, so whoever it is stirring things up, either a friend or coworker, will be up to something that will have some bearing on your career aspirations. They'll try to be covert, but within a day you'll find out what it is so you can execute some damage control. All of this will give you even more to think about regarding those work issues noted in the long-term aspect category. Remember, if you're not enjoying yourself and the various challenges around you, then Saturn is trying to take you by the hand and lead you somewhere else.

Your best bet is to keep a close eye on what's going on around you and put the pieces together, one by one, then decide if you like the picture or want to pursue something different. Your Solar Return is just around the corner, so as you ease into a new cycle you can bet that something is going to be different in the coming year and it's largely up to you what that is.
