Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon on the 13th is in your sign of Taurus and will have the most noticeable affect on those of you with birthdays within a few days of May 14. It will have even more influence on those folks because it will be part of your Solar Return and thus be with you all year long, bringing various new things into your life, most likely in the area of your 5th House which comprises your ego definition, creativity, children, romantic interests, entertainment and speculation. Other Bulls will see these influences primarily for this month. Saturn is extremely active for this lunation over there in your 5th House as described above. He is retrograde, but gratefully will pull out of that at the end of the month. He's been grinding back and forth between Virgo and Libra which will also affect your 6th House of work, health, service and pets. Saturn RX tends to bring an issue to your attention that needs to be restructured, though you may not be aware of it consciously until he goes direct, though, as stated, that will be the end of the month. For those of you with birthdays around May 19, Saturn will be trining your Natal Sun which should have a very positive effect. Saturn has a bit of a bad reputation as a malefic, but once you get on the other side of his sometimes difficult lessons, you are better off unless you fight against it in typical stubborn Taurean fashion. Yes, you are the poster child for a Fixed Sign, and often resist change to the point of it not being in your best interest. Admit it, you know it's true. At any rate, Saturn is coming at you from a variety of directions this month, perhaps as a bit of a birthday present. Other than aspecting the New Moon he is also opposing Jupiter and Uranus, both of whom are in Pisces, your 11th House of friends, groups, organizations, and goals. An opposition stirs up a tug-o-war of some description where one situation or concept is up against another. The good news for Bulls is that you are in the driver's seat on this one and if you handle it properly it will definitely benefit you in numerous ways. The implications are that something unexpected and too big or important to miss will present you with an opportunity to make a few changes with regard to something in that 5th House of ego, children, romance and so forth. This looks like a choice between friends or other group activities and someone or something closer to your heart, which will benefit from rearranging your priorities in some way, which Saturn is trying to bring to your attention. Saturn is also quincunx Neptune who's in your 10th House of reputation, status, public image and career. Neptune can inspire and Neptune can deceive. He can also dissolve and fog the facts, which isn't always bad, but needs to be monitored to assure he's not leaving you astray. A quincunx is an aspect that indicates a change of course or adjustment is needed, sometimes due to a Catch-22 situation. Again, this points to all that business noted above that ultimately points toward adjusting your priorities. Saturn is all about responsibility, obligations, wisdom and maturity, so if you've been less that on top of things in that 5th House, perhaps due to delusions relative to the importance of your career or even your personal reputation, it's time to see things as they really are and make the necessary changes. Venus is in your 2nd House of income, possessions, finance, pleasures and needs, which is clearly a nice place for your Sign Ruler. Bulls like everything in that house a lot, particularly since Taurus owns this house at the Zodiacal level. This should bring good things your way in this part of your life; your self-worth is in that area as well. Venus is squaring Jupiter, something that isn't horribly ominous since both are benefic planets. However, these two together can sometimes provide a bit too much ego or self-confidence, so be careful about going overboard with either your 2nd House of possessions and such and also your group activities or friends. In other words, if you and your buddies decide to do something like go to Vegas, while you may have a fairly good chance of having good luck, don't get cocky or show off unless you want it to bite you. Mercury is trining Pluto for this lunation as well. Thank heavens by this time Mercury is no longer retrograde. Mercury is in Taurus as well, so this will enhance your thinking ability and bring information your way quite readily. The trine to Pluto will help unearth information relative to past beliefs and experiences that have a bearing on your personally. Pluto is retrograde which equates to being the Zodiacal Roto-rooter in fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, relocation, religion, politics and other cultures as well as travel to unfamiliar places. There is something in that part of your life that you have been ignoring or possibly simply unaware of that Pluto is trying to rectify. This trine should be very beneficial for bringing whatever it is to your attention in a favorable way, so pay attention. The Full Moon on the 27th is in Sagittarius, your 8th House of transformations. A Full Moon usually brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase. In your 8th House this implies that something that has been building up and developing for the last month or perhaps longer has reached a conclusion or shifted to a new phase. This House includes intense experiences that affect you at the core as well as such things as shared resources, death, inheritances, and some place sex in this house as well, though anciently that was in the 5th House of romance, children and fun generally. You can place it where it fits best for you, which I suspect for most Bulls lies in the 5th. Venus is stimulating your thoughts about love and or money, which should be beneficial. The Love Goddess is also opposing Pluto, however, which implies some deep ruminations about your past beliefs and expectations in that area are up for review. That long-term Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter stuff is still in force, except Uranus has moved into Aries by the Full Moon, changing his energy to be less spiritual and more direct, perhaps even aggressive. This also puts him in your 12th House so watch for big changes or surprises with regard to possible enlightenment on the positive side and hidden enemies or self-undoing on the negative. Remember that hospitals, institutions and prisons are in that venue as well. Expect a lot of action on the home front, which is going to be pulling against that career and reputation situation. Neptune in that house implies involvement with such things as the shipping industry, oil, hospitals, institutions and possibly even prisons. If those sound familiar with the 12th House that's because Neptune rules the Zodiacal 12th House and has an affinity for such things. In your case, he rules your 11th house of friends, which implies you like to escape and have fun with them or any organizations you're associated with. Just by the way, Neptune also rules alcohol, if that has any relevance. Daily and Short-term Aspects May 2: Responsibilities with regard to your children or perhaps even to yourself will call for an adjustment or change of course with either your career or reputation. May 3: A good day for some quiet time to ponder your beliefs and how they affect any current situations that have your troubled. May 4: A situation at home will conflict with your personal viewpoint or opinion and could cause a conflict. Neither of you is likely to budge, but try to at least understand the other parties point of view, even if you don't agree. May 7: A good day for enjoying members of the opposite sex. It's also a favorable day for finding bargains for household items. Remember that Mercury is still retrograde until the 10th, however, so don't buy anything electronic or mechanical until after then. May 10: Mercury goes direct, which should get things moving and more smoothly than they've been the last few weeks. May 13: New Moon in Taurus as described above. May 17: Let your natural Taurean frugality rule today. If you have a major goal in mind, it's likely to be more expensive than you expect, so do the math before shipping out your checkbook or plastic. May 18: Expenditures may arise that you don't like but are required due to responsibility toward your children. This isn't a good day for any speculations, either. Deception is possible, so don't believe everything you see or hear. Listen to your head and you're likely to take the correct course. May 19: Another day to be wary of anything that isn't on solid ground. If you do something foolish it's likely to bite you hard. Another good day to ponder past beliefs and whether any of them should be updated. An unexpected bill or expenditure is likely to show up. May 20: Your Sign Ruler, Venus goes into Cancer, which will enhance your thoughts and ideas about love and money. Watch for an unexpected opportunity today. May 21: The Sun leaves your Sign for Gemini, bringing his light and emphasis to your 2nd House of possessions, finances and pleasures. May 22: Expanding your activities with your friends or a group, possibly even your goals, isn't going to set too well with your responsibilities, particularly to your children or romantic interest.
