Long-term Aspects and Lunations

The New Moon this month on the 13th occurs in Taurus, your 6th House of work, health, service and pets which should bring something new your way in one of those departments.  If your birthday is within a day or so of December 15 then this lunation with quincunx your Natal Sun, giving it more punch that implies a change of direction or adjustment.  The New Moon is trining retrograde Saturn in Virgo, your 10th House of career, status and reputation.  Saturn RX typically denotes a part of your life that requires some restructuring, but you also need to note that Saturn is not only in Virgo but started the backstroke in Libra, your 11th House of groups, friends, networking and goals.  Obviously all these houses tie together quite nicely with regard to work and career.

Saturn is very active in this lunation, the planet who is a wise but not always a particularly kind or patient mentor.  He's famous for instituting delays, especially while RX, with his primary keyword "structure."  He's all about responsibility, obligations, boundaries, conservatism, authority and discipline.  He's the wisdom of the ages packaged as what can be hard lessons.  For those of you born around December 20, you're experiencing a Saturn square, which is typically less than enchanting.  Nevertheless, if we heed his promptings, we are typically much better off.  The trine he's making to the New Moon implies that you should rework your career goals and perhaps your networking approach to bring about some new developments in the job or service department.  Note also that Saturn rules Capricorn, your 2nd House of possessions, income, finances, needs and pleasures.

However, restructuring is not the only message Saturn's transmitting.  He's also opposing Jupiter and Uranus, both in Pisces, your 4th House of home environment.   Jupiter, your sign ruler, is all about expansion, particularly on the mental plane, though in Pisces it will be more spiritual and tending toward transcendence.  This isn't a bad combination with Sagittarius' love for philosophical discussions and it's also worth noting that anciently Jupiter rules Pisces, giving him dignity and thus comfort in this locale.  The conjunction with Uranus, however, may not be especially advantageous.  Uranus is all about disruptions, the unexpected, rebellion, freedom, breaking away and innovation.  It doesn't take much to see that an opposition between him and Saturn is very polarized, thus suggesting a tug-o-war between home and something fairly major going on there versus establishing what could be a new career or status.

Status is a simple word with complex implications.  A change of status can be anything from becoming a parent for the first time to opening a business.  Just about anything that involves a title or label relates to status in the astrological sense.  If you get promoted or fired, receive an award or get arrested, graduate from school or drop out, married or divorced, any of these are status changes, so maintain keep that in mind as you consider what needs to be structured in your life, because it may not be your career if that particular part of your life is established.  For the Archers that I know personally this is definitely not the case, but obviously I don't have enough data points to make some sweeping generalization about the status of all y'all, as they say here in Texas.  While the dictionary doesn't admit it, I suspect that that word "sage" (not the herb, smartass) originally had something to do with Sagittarius, so put it to good use and figure it out.

And Saturn isn't done yet.  He is also quincunx Neptune.  Neptune and Saturn aren't particularly compatible, either.  Saturn builds and Neptune dissolves; Saturn defines boundaries and Neptune eliminates them.  This King of the Deep is in Aquarius, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and short trips.  A quincunx requires a change of course or adjustment, as noted earlier, and in that particular configuration this probably isn't a bad thing.  As a Mutable Sign you're pretty good with adapting to change, particularly compared to the Fixed Signs, but nonetheless, there are still challenges to letting go of established patterns and stepping out into the great unknown.  Thus, if Neptune provides some inspiration this could be very useful as far as restructuring or rebuilding is concerned.  Neptune can bring enlightenment but also delusion, so just make sure you're not employing too much optimism.

That does it for Saturn with only a couple other aspects to consider.  Pluto in Capricorn, that 2nd House of income and finance, is also retrograde where he's digging up the past and anything else that's hidden which should be cleaned out to make room for something new, sort of like cleaning out the garage or attic.  Face it, if you bought a brand new Mercedes you wouldn't put it in that dirty old garage now, would you?  He is in a nice, friendly trine to Mercury in Taurus, your 6th House where the lunation is taking place.  This will give you further help on the mental plane, where you operate very well, anyway, toward dissecting the past, doing some forensic analysis on your financial situation and anything you can do to improve things in that part of your life.  All in all, IMHO, this looks like a rather positive lunation for you.

The Full Moon on May 27th is in your Sign and will be directly on your Natal Sun if your birthday is within a day or so of November 29th.  Saturn's aspects to Neptune, Jupiter and Uranus haven't changed and thus still apply as noted for the New Moon with one slight exception, which is the fact that Uranus is in Aries as opposed to Pisces.  Even if you have a very rudimentary knowledge of astrology you certainly know that there is a tremendous difference between Pisces' and Aries' energy.  Pisces tends to be dreamy, peaceful and inspiration while Aries is all about moving forward to the tune of "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"  Thus, Uranus' somewhat unstable energy in that environment is something to keep an eye on.  On the other hand, if you've been doing too much daydreaming lately, maybe it's time to "git 'r' dun."  Aries, by the way, is a fellow Fire Sign and your 5th House of ego development, creativity, children, entertainment, romance and speculation, so expect to see that dust cloud in one of those venues.  Note that Pluto is squaring Uranus, which will throw some conflict from the roots of your financial situation in the mix as well.

Neptune is also opposing Mars in Leo for the Full Moon, providing even more fiery energy.  Leo is your 9th House, which Sagittarius rules zodiacally, and a place where you're very much at home.  I'm sure you know, but as a reminder, this includes higher learning, other cultures, legal matters, relocation, travel to unfamiliar places, as well as your beliefs and expectations.  Mars isn't subtle and is all about action, which will be particularly motivational for those of you born right around December 16.  Thus, if you have something going on in one of those areas, which for a Sag is about as intelligent as asking whether the Pope is Catholic, you will want to take action and won't care who or what's in your way to do so.

Pluto is still grinding away in that 2nd House of finance, possessions, needs and pleasures and opposing Venus in Cancer, your 8th House of transformations, inheritances, debt, shared resources, sex and death.  (Sex can also be placed in the 5th House of romance and entertainment, so you can decide where it fits best for you.)  The 8th is where intense and life-changing experiences take place and is ruled zodiacally by Pluto, giving this a bit more punch.  Venus rules both money and love, so you can see which fits best for your particular circumstances.  In its simplest form this will push for some deep introspection and understanding toward these areas of your life.  For Archers, Venus rules your 6th House of work and 11th House of friends and goals, so you can tie them in as well.  Mercury in your 6th House of work and health is sextile Venus, which implies good news, probably about money, so cross your fingers.

The Sun is quincunx Pluto from your polar sign, Gemini, which suggests an adjustment or change of course with regard to a close relationship.  This can be a significant other, business partner, or as simple as changing your accountant, financial advisor, or hairdresser.  And that pretty well sums it up for this month's lunations.
