Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The New Moon this month on the 13th is in Taurus, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and familiar journeys.  If you birthday is within a day or so of March 14 look for something new in one of those areas.  Undoubtedly the most active planet in this lunation is Saturn who's retrograde in your polar sign, Virgo until the end of the month when he'll gratefully go direct.  Virgo is your 7th House of relationships which implies that some restructuring is in progress with regard to this part of your life.  Note that relationships in the astrological sense include your significant other, close friends and relatives with whom you interact on a regular basis, business partners and professionals such as your accountant, financial adviser, hair stylist, and so forth as well as anyone you know to be a competitor.  The New Moon is trining Saturn, suggesting that some new thoughts relative to your relationships, or perhaps one in particular, are possible though it could also mean that a stronger relationship with a sibling or neighbor is on the way.

Saturn is also opposing Jupiter and Uranus, both in your Sign, a fact you're probably acutely aware of if your birthday lies roughly between March 15 - 20.  Jupiter, your ancient Sign Ruler, inclines toward expanding what he touches, much as that triple chocolate caramel latte does for your midsection.  He also tends toward philosophical discussions and matters that involve ethics.  He's close enough to Uranus, planet of disruptions, sudden change, rebellion, breaking free and surprises that undoubtedly anything in that department is hard to miss.  With these two opposing Saturn, it's going to do some interesting things to your relationships, though the source of those big disruptions and so forth are quite likely to be either you directly or inadvertently by virtue of your personality.  One thing to look at carefully is the health or your relationships and whether any issues or challenges are somehow connected to your behavior.

Saturn is all about structure, responsibility, obligation, discipline, and authority; while retrograde, he works toward rebuilding such things as they relate to the house he's transiting and institutes as many delays as required in the process.  Saturn has been RX since mid-January, so if you've felt as if you've been stuck in the mud for the past four-plus months, this is likely to be the cause.  Also note that he went retrograde in Libra, your 8th House of transformations, shared resources, debt, inheritances, death and sex, so his efforts also relate to that part of your life, those lasting lessons after which you're a slightly different person.  This lunation is providing some extra impetus to discover and address these matters and shift them to a new phase of development, which will get fully implemented at the end of the month when Saturn goes direct.  The process of rebuilding will last until early September, after which true progress can begin. Thus, you may be stirring up a few things, consciously or otherwise, the results of which may cause a few problems, particularly at home, yet will ultimately allow you to identify those things that require your attention.

Saturn is quincunx Neptune, your Sign Ruler, who's in Aquarius, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, seclusion, dreams, institutions, self-undoing and hidden enemies.  A quincunx indicates an adjustment or change of course is called for, perhaps due to a Catch-22 situation.  Pisces rules the Zodiacal 12th House so this domain is of great important to you and where you find your greatest meaning in life.  Reality sucks to most Pisces and unless you escape its harshness from time to time you will not be very happy.  On the other hand, if you escape a bit too much, this will undoubtedly cause a few issues with those around you.  Thus, this is an area to take a very careful look at, as objectively as possible, to see if it's in the proper balance, one way or the other.

The trine between Mercury, also in your 3rd House of thoughts and so forth, and Pluto, in Capricorn, you 11th House of friends, groups, and goals, will further help you dig deeply enough to find the root causes to any challenges you're experiencing.  These are likely to relate to a general conflict with someone in your home environment who doesn't share your current philosophy of life.  Thus, the Universe is giving you a hand toward rectifying these issues and solving them in a peaceful and positive manner.

The Full Moon on May 27 is in Sagittarius, your 10th House of career, status, reputation and public image.  If your birthday is within a day or so of February 25, this will be more noticeable as it relates to a conflict of some sort.  A Full Moon typically denotes an ending or culmination or possibly a shift to a new phase whereas the New Moon brings something new into your life.  Saturn is still quincunx Neptune and opposing Jupiter and Uranus, as delineated above for the New Moon, but note that by this time Uranus has moved into Aries.  This is essentially Uranus on steroids and definitely kicks his unpredictability up a notch.  Aries is your 2nd House of possessions, finance, income, needs and pleasures, so something is likely to occur in that part of your life that further stirs up those relationship issues.  Pluto is squaring Uranus, which suggests that it's not going to be something new, but perhaps something that's been buried or hidden and requires attention so it can be resolved.  Pluto is quincunx the Sun, implying more adjustments are required on the homefront.

Pluto is also opposing Venus, who by this time is in Cancer, your 5th House of creativity, romance, children, ego definition, entertainment and speculation.  Since Pisces need to escape on a regular basis, this is typically a good place to do so.  Mercury is sextile Venus, a soft aspects that usually denotes a chance or opportunity and implies some good ideas are on the way for enjoying yourself.  Pluto, however, isn't going to making this as easy as it may sound.  He's in your 11th House, noted earlier as comprising your friends, organizations, groups and goals, where he is unearthing any unresolved issues in that part of your life and clearing the way for growth, similar to clearing out all the weeds from that back lot, which will allow you to put in a proper garden.

Pluto's opposition to Venus in your house of personal pleasantries certainly doesn't sound very friendly, as indeed it's probably not.  Oppositions are known as hard aspects and typically set up a choice that won't necessarily be easy.  Venus rules both relationships and finances which implies generally favorable things for enjoying yourself, but Pluto is going to be beckoning you to take care of business in that back lot.  Thus, you are going to have to either choose or balance these two parts of your life as too much of one or the other is not in your ultimate best interest, though the temptation to enjoy yourself is going to be strong.  However, a few months down the road you're going to wish you put in that garden, at least figuratively.  Thus, you have your work cut out for you with both these lunations and as Larry the Cable Guy says so eloquently, "Git 'r' dun."

Short-term Aspects

May 2:  Someone close to you may implicitly or explicitly indicate the need for an adjustment or change of course.  You'd do well to pay attention, no matter how subtle the indication may be.

May 3:  An excellent day to examine your goals.  Pay close attention to any that may be no longer relevant or outdated that you'd do well to scrap and thus make more room for something new.  The same goes for any organizational ties or friends who no longer serve your purposes in a constructive manner.

May 4:  A thought, conversation or news item may represent a problem that relates to your job, service or health with a slight possibility that it involves a pet.

May 7:  A favorable day for interactions with the opposite sex at home and work.

May 10:  Mercury goes direct, allowing things electronic and mechanical to return to normal function.

May 13:  New Moon today as described above.

May 17:  You may want to do something for yourself that won't be viewed very favorably by those on the homefront, particularly the keeper of the checkbook.  Talk about it openly and you're likely to come to a good compromise.

May 18:  A conflict between one or more relationships and your home environment is likely, or perhaps a conflict with someone in your home environment.  Inspiration for dealing with it is possible, but make sure it passes a reality check for helping rebuild the relevant relationship(s) as required.

May 19:  Confusion or the inability to see things clearly is highly likely.  If possible, avoid making any major decisions.  It's favorable, however, for examining and/or reworking your goals or assessing your group activities.  A disruption or unexpected event at home is likely, possibly related to money.

May 20:  A favorable time to coming up with some innovative ideas or doing something spontaneous with a neighbor or sibling.  Venus goes into Cancer, bringing her blessings to your ego definition, creativity, children, romantic life, entertainment for speculation activities.

May 21:  The Sun goes into Gemini, bringing light and focus to your home environment.

May 22:  You may want to do something major that hits a definite wall with someone close to you.

May 23:  Expect a conflict between something you'd like to do versus figuratively cleaning up that back lot.

May 25:  Adjustments that relate to reworking your goals or group associations and your home life will be required today.

May 27:  Full Moon in Sagittarius as described above.

May 28:  Uranus goes into Aries so brace yourself for the energy shift.

May 30:  Saturn comes out of retrograde, allowing any subconscious rumblings related to reworking one or more relationships to surface so that work in earnest in this part of your life can begin.
