Lunations and Long-Term Aspects This month's New Moon on the 13th is in Taurus, your 11th House of friends, groups, organizations and goals. If your birthday is within a day or so of July 16 this will have more impact which should bring an opportunity you way, the nature of which you can probably figure out by considering what else is going on with this lunation. The most active planet is clearly Saturn who's not only trining the New Moon, which of course comprises both the Sun and Moon, but three other planets as well, all of the outer, slower moving variety. Saturn is retrograde in Virgo, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and local trips. Saturn RX is about restructuring, which will apply to both your 3rd House and your 4th, since he first went retrograde in Libra back in January. So look for something that comprises those two parts of your life that needs to be reworked in some manner. When Saturn goes direct the end of this month you should have a good idea, if not before, then it will be time to start working on making the needed revisions. By September they should be in place, allowing you to move forward. Saturn is also opposing both Jupiter and Uranus, conjunct in fellow Water Sign, Pisces, your 9th House of beliefs and expectations, other cultures, higher learning, travel to unfamiliar places, relocation, religion and politics as well as your philosophy of life. Jupiter tends to expand, exaggerate or inflate what he touches and as the ruler of Sagittarius, the zodiacal 9th House, he's very comfortable in this environment. Thus, over the last several months, you have probably been experiencing a variety of things that relate to that 9th House. Being conjunct Uranus, who's also been in that neighborhood for quite a long time, will introduce his energy into the mix which will be a blend of the unconventional, perhaps a touch of rebellion as well as a plethora of disruptions and other unexpected events. With these two opposing Saturn, who's about order, discipline and responsibility, these distractions could easily compete with any efforts on your part at organization of anything. Perhaps what Saturn is all about is getting a handle on everything going on in that 9th House, at least this month. Last but not least, Saturn is quincunx Neptune in Aquarius, your 8th House of transformations, debt, shared resources, inheritances, death and sex (though some people include sex in the 5th with romance, children and entertainment, pending on your point of view.) Neptune and Saturn are quite antithetical with Neptune tending to dissolve and dissipate while Saturn strives to impose structure and restrictions. A quincunx, however, calls for an adjustment or change of course, so in that case these two could work fairly well together with Neptune softening the edges of anything that needs to be changed which will have an important impact on your life. So to recap what Saturn is up to, he's trying to restructure something that relates to your thoughts toward your neighbors and possibly siblings and how they affect your home environment, which is going to require a change in your beliefs and expectations which could be quite dramatic and will affect you in the long-term with new goals and perhaps friendships or even groups ties coming as a result. Another aspect accompanying this lunation includes Mercury trining Pluto. Mercury is also in Taurus, your house of goals, which bodes well for coming up with ideas as well as a plan to execute them. Pluto's trine, a nice friendly aspect, from your polar sign, Capricorn, which is your 7th House of close relationships, implies that someone close to you will either assist or motivate you in that regard. Pluto transiting your 7th House is going to do some serious remodeling in this part of your life. Remember that relationships in the astrological sense include not only your significant other but close friends and relatives with whom you associate on a regular basis, business partners, business professionals such as your tax advisor, accountant, attorney, hair dresser as well as competitors and those people whom you know without a doubt are not your friend. Pluto is going to help you sort out the ones worth keeping and the ones who should be eliminated. This transit is currently really grinding away on those of you with birthdays within a day one way or the other of June 27, since he is opposing your natal Sun. Jupiter is squaring Venus in Gemini, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, institutions, confinement, seclusion, self-undoing and hidden enemies. One thing to keep an eye on with Venus in the 12th is whether there are any females who are in reality hidden enemies. There may be someone who professes to be your friend, yet is trying to undermine you, so keep an eye out. Note that religion in 9th House, where Jupiter lies, and the 12th is spirituality, where Venus is positioned. Thus, if there's a conflict in this part of your life, it's time to give it some thought. One of my favorite sayings is that "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than standing in the garage makes you a car." This aspect will help you get these two areas in synch, thus providing more integrity to your beliefs. Clearly there's a lot going on with this lunation that is going to have long-term effects. The Full Moon on the 27th is in Sagittarius, your 6th House of work, health, service and pets. A Full Moon usually brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase and will be particularly noticeable for those of you born right around June 28 as it forms a quincunx with your Natal Sun, suggesting an adjustment or change of course. Saturn is still aspecting Neptune, Jupiter and Uranus, so everything noted about that for the New Moon is still in effect. Uranus, however, has gone into Aries, shifting that energy in what could be a rather interesting manner. Unpredictable Uranus in impulsive Aries; do the math. Aries is your 10th House of career, reputation, public image and status. "Status" is a somewhat vague term that encompasses a whole lot of territory. For starters, think of anything about you that's in the public record or might show up in the newspaper. For example, having your first child or having the last one leave home; getting married or divorced; opening or closing a business; being promoted or fired; receiving an award or being arrested, etc., etc. Any of these events become part of your public image, so with Uranus in your 10th you can expect all sorts of surprises in this part of your life. Mars is opposing Neptune which looks as if it could have some financial implications. Neptune can bring inspiration or delusions so bears watching. He can provide wonderful excursions into Fantasyland, but be sure you don't mistake it for reality. In your 8th House of transformations, this can open up wonderful, inspiring vistas, but since this is also the house of debt he can also delude you into thinking you can afford something you can't. Mars in your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs and pleasures can be impulsive, want to move forward immediately, or can even be a bit destructive. So keep a close eye on your finances. This is not to say not to buy anything that requires a loan, only to make sure you're seeing all the facts and thinking clearly when you do, especially in view of the fact that the economy these days is rather questionable, to say the least. Venus is opposing Pluto by a fairly wide orb, but worth mentioning, especially with Venus in your sign. If your birthday is between June 25 - July 3 you may notice this more as it will pull in your Natal Sun. Venus in your 1st House is a very nice transit which will draw others to you in a favorable way. Even your physical appearance will be enhanced, so enjoy it while it lasts. It can also bring some luck your way with regard to love or money. With Pluto in your 7th of relationships, there's a strong potential for considerable passion, but make sure it's with the right person and not destructive or a power struggle. It may even be a time when you care enough about yourself to rid yourself of someone who isn't good for you or is holding you back. Remember that your happiness is as important as anyone else's. The Sun is quincunx Pluto, suggesting an inspired adjustment or change of course, particularly with regard to your close relationships. Don't forget that relationships covers a pretty broad area and before you panic, this could mean no more than you need to change your hair stylist, not disrupt your entire life. However, if you've been struggling with any people in your life who are making you miserable, this definitely will help you find the needed insights to make a few changes. Mercury is sextile Venus which will also help you define some beneficial personal goals. Daily and Short-term Aspects May 2: This is a favorable day to ponder what is going on in your life and think about anything you'd like to change or improve. May 3: If there is someone close to you with whom you share any goals, find some time today to get together and discuss them. This could particularly pertain to relationship goals. Meeting up with friends is also favored and could result in a casual friendship deepening. May 4: Financial goals are emphasized today. If you haven't addressed them explicitly, now is the time to do so. Be wary of impulsive spending, however. May 7: Interactions with the opposite sex should go well today. If possible, treat yourself in some manner to something you enjoy or find inspirational, such as enjoying nature. May 10: Mercury goes direct today, allowing electronic and mechanical devices to function properly. Moving forward with your goals can also happen more effectively. May 13: New Moon today as described above. May 17: If your conscious beliefs aren't in harmony with your spiritual nature, this is a favorable time to figure out why and determine your best course of action. Cognitive dissonance, which results from this type of disparity, can hold you back and drain your energy for progressing at a personal level. May 18: If there's a female out there trying to undermine you, it may become apparent today and cause you to give some serious thought to the situation. If someone is trying to deceive you, make sure you figure out how you allowed that to happen so you can avoid doing it again. Being too friendly or trusting can often bite you. May 19: Seeing your friends and various others in the full light of day is possible at this time, perhaps due to some unexpected action on their part that shows their true colors. Take some time to consciously assess these people and what lessons there are to learn from them. Remember that no life is ever wasted, you can always serve as a bad example. May 20: Something unexpected will give you plenty to think about today. Give it serious consideration as it can have a long-term effect on how you see things. May 21: The Sun goes into Gemini which will bring attention and focus to your spiritual side. If there are any hidden enemies or self-defeating habits holding you back, now is the time to see them more clearly. May 22: Find some quiet time today to ponder a few things that have been on your mind lately. Some of your beliefs are trying to shift and expand but need some conscious thought to help them develop properly. May 23: If there is anyone who is trying to control you now is a favorable time to talk about it with them. Deepening a relationship is very possible at this time as well as the likelihood for finding out something you didn't know about them. If there is anyone you need to eliminate from your life, you may discover that as well. May 25: Continue to ponder anyone who no longer serves a useful purpose in your life whom you have the option of eliminating. If you can't be rid of them, at least consider how the relationship can be improved. May 27: Full Moon today in Sagittarius as described above. May 28: Uranus goes into Aries today so be on the lookout for the unexpected with regard to your career, reputation or public image. May 30: Saturn goes direct after over four months of retrograde motion. Now is when you can start pulling your thoughts together and moving forward to rebuild or remodel some part of your life. This will take several months, but should be complete by the first week in September. |
