Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month the New Moon on the 13th occurs in Taurus, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs and pleasures, indicating something new is coming your way in that part of your life. This sounds all well and good, but I need to warn you that the most active planet for this lunation is retrograde (RX) Saturn, who isn't exactly renowned for his benevolence. Saturn is everyone's astrological watchdog who does everything in his cosmic power to make you responsible, to meet your obligations, structure your life in a productive way and institute the necessary delays for you to get all these things together. For starters, Saturn RX is trining the New Moon from Virgo, your 6th House of work, service, health and pets. While doing the backstroke, Saturn is trying to get your attention to restructure something in the house he's transiting. You may not see the need for this, but he does, so he'll relentless nag you until you take care of business. Saturn is known for his wisdom and has been for centuries, even millennia, so you're well-advised to get the wax out of your ears and listen. Unless your work, service to others and health is in absolutely perfect shape, there is something you need to restructure in this part of your life. You may not be aware of it, perhaps because you can't see the forest for the trees because you're so busy keeping up with your daily demands. At the end of the month when Saturn goes direct after his four and a half month stint going backwards, the realization will finally dawn and you'll have until the first week of September to get it taken care of. Also note that Saturn initially went retrograde while he was in Libra, your polar sign and 7th House of relationships. Therefore, it's very likely that you have one or more close relationships that also need to be restructured in some manner, so be sure to look at this part of your life as well. Relationships in the astrological context include your significant other, any friends or relatives with whom you interact on a regular basis, business partners, and professionals such as your accountant, tax advisor, hair stylist, attorney and so forth. Also included are your competitors and those people whom you know beyond a doubt are NOT your friend, a.k.a. open enemies. So these are areas to start looking at carefully toward the end of the month. Meanwhile, back to the New Moon, Saturn is also opposing both Jupiter and Uranus who are conjunct in Pisces, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, institutions, seclusion, confinement, self-undoing and hidden enemies. Jupiter is the ancient ruler of Pisces prior to the discovery of Neptune, so he's quite comfortable there where he's expanding your awareness and giving you a few things to ponder regarding this part of your life. In cahoots with Uranus, however, this is probably not all sunshine and roses. Uranus, planet of the unexpected, surprise events, rebellion, breaking away, innovation and sudden change is far from subtle and totally unpredictable. He has been stirring things up in this part of your life for quite a while. Since much of this particularly house lies outside your conscious mind, this could have caused a sense of restlessness for which you couldn't find a cause. With Jupiter in close proximity, this will be magnified. Note what's included in this house again and think about it. Weird or sudden insights, dreams, the need for breaking away with or without seclusion, self-defeating behavior and people trying to undermine you are all likely to be business as usual. It's little wonder that Saturn, who's antithetical to Uranus by nature, will be trying to stabilize some of this. If things at work have been rather grueling lately that is likely to be one of those things from which you'd like to break away. If you have any planets in Virgo there's a fairly good chance that Uranus is opposing them, or has been at some time during the past few years, which hasn't helped your sense of stability. This is likely to peak at this time, yet also provide some sudden and interesting insights. Saturn is also quincunx Neptune in Aquarius, your 11th House of friends, organizations, groups and goals. Neptune is also entirely different than Saturn. Neptune dissolves and dissipates while Saturn builds and imposes structure. A quincunx calls for an adjustment or course change, so these two planets can actually work well together under this particular aspect, especially if you're having trouble leaving something behind. In this case, Neptune can soften the edges and make it easy to restructure things, most likely your goals as they pertain to work, in a new direction. Other aspects include a trine from Mercury to Pluto which should facilitate information relating to your finances, needs and pleasures and your status, reputation or career. Pluto in that 10th House neighborhood will be working at unearthing anything that needs to be cleaned out or eliminated to make room for new opportunities. Tied into Venus, this will provide a few things to consider with regard to the financial side. Last but not least, Jupiter is squaring Venus, which represents a challenge of some description that could relate to either love, money or both and how it ties into your needs to expand your consciousness, if you will, and see beyond your daily grind. Defining this more explicitly is pretty impossible, but I suspect you'll be able to relate this to your unique situation without further editorializing on my part. The Full Moon on May 27th occurs in fellow Fire Sign, Sagittarius, your 9th House of legal matters, higher learning, travel to unfamiliar or foreign places, relocation, religion, politics, as well as your beliefs and expectations. A Full Moon typically brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase, so look for such in this part of your life. If your birthday is within a day or so of March 27 this will be a fortuitous lunation that should benefit you in some way. If things have felt "stuck" lately, it more than likely has to do with the fact that Saturn has been retrograde since January and Mercury since April 18, neither of which is conducive to forward progress. Both end this month, which should prove favorable in and of itself. Saturn's aspects to Neptune, Jupiter and Uranus are the same as for the New Moon with the exception that by this time Uranus has moved into your sign. This will get all those disruptions and so forth out in the open, maybe too much so, since they're now going to be largely personal or perhaps even caused by your actions, which are often impulsive if you're a typical Aries. It will also exacerbate any sense of rebellion you may be experiencing. In other words, all those ruminations that have been years in the making are going to break loose and you will start taking action on them, particularly when Uranus starts moving in on your Natal Sun. This could take a long time, depending on when your birthday is, but if you're in the first few degrees of Aries, hold on to your hat because it's on its way. Thus, with this change, Saturn's efforts to rework something with regard to your occupation could get a real run for the money. Pluto is quincunx the Sun in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and travel to familiar places. Pluto, as you recall, is doing the roto-rooter routine in your 10th House of career, reputation and status. Your thoughts about this situation are going to effect a change of course or direction as a result. Pluto is also stimulating Uranus, but it's likely to also represent a challenge or crisis if you want to break away or rebel. Venus in your 4th House of home environment is opposing Pluto, suggesting a conflict between home and career of some sort. Mercury is sextile Venus, however, an aspect that typically brings an opportunity which is likely to be of a financial nature. Your Sign Ruler, Mars, is in fellow Fire Sign, Leo, where he's opposing Neptune. Neptune is in your house of friends and goals, but hasn't been exactly helpful as far as defining and achieving them. Mars, on the other hand in your 5th House of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation, is raring to go. Needless to say Mars should win this argument quite easily and combined with Saturn's restructuring, may help you define some new goals as well as a plan regarding how to get there. Short Term/Daily Aspects May 2: This is the time to look carefully at your long-term goals and what you need to do to make them reality. A change of course is required and it's time to figure out what that might be. May 3: Watch for information relative to your finances which may help with that remodeling project going on with your career, status or reputation. May 4: Hang onto your wallet today and avoid speculations. There's a high probability that something is going to cost you some money, perhaps a child, indulging yourself in some way or a bad bet. May 7: Interactions with the opposite sex should go well today. Harness your creativity to come up with some money making ideas while the astrological climate favors it. May 10: Mercury comes out of retrograde, allowing electronic and mechanical devices to function properly. May 13: New Moon today as described above. May 17: What are your deepest feelings about love and money? Which do you need more? What part of yourself have you been neglecting that is definitely not in your best interest? Think about it today, hard. May 18: What's going on at work that you need to be thinking about? Don't ignore it, it's important for planning your future goals. The way to restructure something related to your job that will have financial benefits is trying to get your attention. May 19: Make sure you're dealing with all the facts today or at least the feasibility of anything you plan to do. Identifying any pitfalls won't be a bad thing but will allow you to take the proper steps to avoid them. Research is favored today which will help you find information that was previously hidden or unavailable. Find some quiet time today to consider everything going on around you and what's in your best interest, not everyone else's. May 20: Inspiration and innovation that will benefit your finances, possessions or personal life is available today if you take the time to flush it out of the shadows. Venus goes into Cancer today, bringing her blessings to your 4th House of home environment. May 21: The Sun goes into Gemini, which will stimulate your thoughts and ideas in a positive way, making the path ahead clearer than it's been. May 22: Keep thinking about what you really want and need and how your job or work may be keeping you from it. Saturn is busily trying to help you rework things in this area, so listen up. May 23: Watch for a conflict between your home and career or status and some transformational insights into what the problem really is. May 25: Another good day for a course change or adjustment to your current path. Your thinking should be clear and able to delve deeply into the situation to find a solution. May 27: Full Moon in Sagittarius as described above. May 28: Uranus goes into Aries which is going to have a strong influence on any inclination you may have to rebel or break free from stifling circumstances. May 30: Saturn goes direct after more than four months of retrograde motion. From this point on you should start to see what needs to be restructured as far as your job is concerned as well as your close relationships. |
