Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month the Full Moon on the 4th is in Aries, your 8th House of transformations which includes such things as sex, death and shared resources. This is the House that represents events and experiences that come into your life after which you are not the same person and thus make a difference in who and what you are. Death in this context includes not only physical death but the figurative variety, where you give something up that is worn out our outlived its usefulness so that it can be reborn or replaced by something new. This is also the House of shared resources, which can also translate as debt. Since a Full Moon is by definition an opposition between the Sun and Moon, each is in a different house. With the Moon in the 8th, that places the Sun in the 2nd, and opposing houses have various similarities where one involves you at a personal level and the other related to your interactions with others. The 2/8 polarity is often referred to as The Axis of Desire. This can be of the physical variety where we find pleasure and it can also involve other material possessions. The 2nd House includes your finances, how you earn your living, your personal values, needs, comforts, and so forth. With the Sun in that house most of this month, there will naturally be an emphasis on that part of your life. If you think back, this may be the time of year that you tend to make major purchases, those that require credit or a loan. Since a Full Moon indicates a culmination, this implies the completion of a process or decision that will relate to both of these areas, perhaps something you've been considering or working on for a while now. As always the Full Moon has various aspects associated with it that further indicate how it will manifest in your life. One aspect pattern stands out, a Yod, or Finger of God, that involves Mars, Mercury and Neptune. Mars, which provides us with drive and energy, is in Cancer, your 11th House of friends, organizations, groups, coworkers, as well as your goals, hopes and wishes. These are the goals and such that you can't accomplish entirely on your own, but involve some degree of interaction or possibly even cooperation from others in order to achieve, even though they may only benefit you. Mars is sextile Mercury, your Sign Ruler, who is happily residing in Virgo where he's enhancing and stimulating your ability to work and communicate. A sextile is a friendly aspect that usually manifests as an opportunity, so this implies moving toward one or more of those goals should be progressing well. To complete the Yod, Mars and Mercury are each quincunx Neptune in your 6th House of work and health. The quincunx typically indicates the need for an adjustment or change of course. Virgo rules the zodiacal 6th House, making this an important and comfortable domain for you. Neptune influences your dreams, inspiration, and enlightenment, though he can also have a blurring effect or even dissolve what he touches. Rose-colored glasses are another thing he's been known to distribute. However, in the context of this Yod, it looks as if something you've been working for that means a lot to you is coming within reach, provided you make a few tweaks to your approach. Work includes your day job but also any other projects you're pursuing. Virgos are usually good with their hands and enjoy keeping busy in one way or another, seeming to express the adage "Idle hands are the devil's workshop." Neptune isn't particularly compatible with tangible accomplishments, however, so this may be something less materialistic. Undoubtedly you have some idea what it might be so I won't even try to name all the possibilities. Whatever it is, it looks as if the Universe is favoring you at this time. There are a few aspects that are more challenging, so I may as well get them out of the way right now. I know Virgos tend to be practical so you're going to want that information as well. Even if Neptune is offering a special on those rose-colored glasses, they usually don't fit Earth Signs as well as others. On challenge out there is an opposition between your Sign Ruler, Mercury, and Uranus, planet of the unexpected, sudden change, innovation and rebellion, to name a few. Uranus is in your 7th House of relationships where he's been stirring things up in the part of your life for quite a while now, so long that it has probably begun to feel like the norm. The 7th House includes close friends and relatives, your significant other, open enemies, those with whom you have a one-on-one relationship, and cliental, if you're a business owner. This aspect indicates that you're going to see some opposition from these folks regarding your ideas and where you want to go with them. These will require negotiations to resolve, but won't necessarily be show-stoppers. This could very well be useful feedback that will help you refine your ideas in a positive way, even though I know that Virgos much rather dish out criticism than receive it. Admit that you're not perfect, at least to yourself, and listen to what these people have to say because there's a good chance that they have some very valid points. Saturn has been in your 1st House for a while, which tends to be a bit of a grinding experience, especially as he makes his way across your Natal Sun. If your birthday is right around September 20 you will be feeling it now. Saturn can institute delays, restrictions, remind you of your obligations and responsibilities, and also represent authority figures. He also assists with your personal ambitions, however, and gives you the perseverance and patience to move forward in a steady, methodical way. He's squaring Pluto, however, who's occupying your 5th House of creativity, ego expression, children, and romantic interests; entertainment and speculation are also included. This is generally a pretty pleasant House and having Pluto there isn't going to be very comfortable, as a rule. Pluto rules the zodiacal 8th House, the house of transformation noted earlier where this lunation is taking place, so this ties in with that in its own subtle way. The implication is that whatever you're trying to accomplish may be hitting a wall, no matter how much work you put into it. Pluto can represent power struggles, but this may be an internal struggle with yourself as opposed to others, though your kids and lovers are included in the 5th. Thus, they could be the obstacle, but more likely you're refusing to let go of something in this area, maybe even your pride, and it is holding you back in some way. Maybe what you're trying to do is outdated and requires a complete renovation. Again, you should recognize what this is without me attempting to name all the possibilities, which would be impossible. Give this serious thought because it's an obstacle you need to overcome. The good news is that Saturn is also trine the North Node, which is also in your 5th House, and indicates something new coming into your life. This indicates that you'll identify that obstacle and effectively move forward. Other harmonious aspects out there include a trine between Mars and Uranus which makes the energy exchange between these two flow easily. One caution, however, that these two planets both wield energy that can be hard to control and when they get together the result isn't always positive if you're not paying attention. This is where you need to really keep your eyes open. This has something to do with those group associations or possibly your goals and someone you're close to. Maybe a close friend will introduce you to someone else that will have a very useful effect, i.e. help you do some networking, or maybe someone will surprise you in some manner that will also have a positive influence on pursuing your goals or getting into the right circle. This is a time to reach out to others, socialize, and network as much as possible. This will receive additional assistance from the fact that Venus is also in your 1st House, which will add to your charm and ability to be well-received by others. Venus is quincunx Jupiter, also in that 6th House of work. This implies more adjustments are needed, but both of these planets are generally friendly so these shouldn't be unpleasant. Jupiter is usually associated with expansion and luck so in your 6th House I'd keep an eye out for something coming along where you can advance yourself and show your stuff in a positive way that could ultimately take you in a slight different direction. And that pretty well does it for the Full Moon. The New Moon on October 18 falls in Libra, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, personal values, needs, pleasures and so forth, as noted earlier. A New Moon brings something new or a new phase of something into your life. As always there are a few challenges, but overall there are numerous positive aspects associated with this lunation. Saturn and Pluto are still trying to tell you something regarding a transformation in the creativity or ego area, unless that is still that kid or lover pushing back, though I think that is less likely than something you're simply supposed to recognize and change as far as letting go of something so you can move forward. Mars and Pluto, traditionally two bad boys as planets go, are quincunx, calling for yet another adjustment or change of course that has shades of self-undoing if you don't. Mars at this time has gone into Leo, your 12th House of enlightenment, dreams, inspiration, confinement, hidden enemies, and institutions. While this could stimulate your imagination, which would be good, there are just enough things in that 12th House that can spell problems that I suggest you watch your back as well as examine your own actions to see if you're sabotaging yourself in any manner by refusing to change direction. Pluto with whatever he's trying to accomplish with regard to your creativity, ego expression, speculation, kids or lovers is not playing silly games so you need to look at that carefully and figure out what it is you're supposed to be doing. Saturn is pointing in that direction, also, and these three planets are not to be trifled with when they get together like that. The New Moon is square the North Node, which is another caution flag. Where ever you're supposed to be going could be jeopardized by whatever this new thing in the financial area happens to be, or include a major obstacles to overcome before you can get there. The New Moon is interacting with Neptune in a positive way, once again indicating some inspiration or dream related to work could be bringing good fortune your way. Uranus is involved, also, with another quincunx, once again indicating that some course changes are called for, perhaps in the relationship area. Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, consider the full scope of the 7th House at this point. If there is a close friend or relative or even your significant other who's pushing for a change of course, you need to listen. On the other hand, this could be someone on the business side of things as well. If whatever you're trying to do is not progressing, maybe what you need to do is change something there. Give it plenty of thought. That change seems to relate to an opportunity to bring something into your life, so if various speedbumps keep appearing, look for their source, whether it's something you're not seeing within yourself or with those around you. And that ought to give you a few things to think about regarding the New Moon. Short Term Aspects October 1: The months starts out with a Yod between Mars, Mercury and the asteroid, Chiron. This could represent a disappointment of some description that relates to your job though there are enough opportunities and changes coming your way this month that its effect should be easily overcome. Also be wary at this time that your pursuits aren't damaging to someone or something else that relates to work, as this could bite you later. October 4: The Full Moon occurs today as noted above. October 8 - 9: Expect some serious ideas or information that relates to your personal responsibilities or ambitions. Someone close to you may surprise you in some way, which may or may not be related to daydreaming about work or something you'd like to do or build. Mercury goes into Libra on the 9th, which will help you gather information and think of ways to manage your finances better or even find more time to relax. October 10: A monetary award or bonus at work or some other benefit is likely today. It may simply be a chance to put in some overtime that helps your next paycheck, but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. If you're considering a speculative investment of some sort, you may have a difficult time finding information. There's a good chance there's something you need to know that they're trying to hide, so persist in your search. October 12 - 13: Hard work coupled with drive and energy will work well for you today toward moving closer to something you want. The more you want it, the harder you'll work, which will be a winning combination. October 14 - 15: Venus goes into Libra on the 14th, which should bode well for your finances and/or obtaining something you want. Pluto, however, may throw out a speedbump or two by revealing something from your past that you'd either forgotten or wanted to keep hidden. October 16: Mars goes into Leo on the 16th, which will bring more energy and drive to your imagination. Someone close to you is going to throw a surprise or two your way that will require a few tweaks to those financial plans or your desire to acquire something. Not to worry, you'll be filled with inspiration on how to get around it. October 18: New Moon today as described above. October 20: Don't stay so busy today that you don't have some time to think because you're likely to come up with an idea that will be very beneficial with respect to your work, one of your projects, and your income. October 23 - 24: The Sun goes into Scorpio, your 3rd House, on the 23rd, bringing his emphasis to your thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings, and short journeys. On the 24th look for some serious creative energy that can go as deep as you need it to go to figure out how to accomplish something. More unexpected input from someone close to you may result in a few adjustments, but there's enough inspiration out there with regard to your work or projects that this shouldn't be a bad thing. October 28: Mercury goes into Scorpio, further enhancing your thoughts and ideas and all those other 3rd House things. More money making ideas of a beneficial nature are out there as well. Gain, your ability to dig as deep as necessary is enhanced. Give it all you've got and you should find what you're looking for. October 29: Saturn goes into Libra, bringing his hard work and perseverance to assist in your financial endeavors. This may not be an easy time, but it will be a time when you can build your foundation in this area in a steady and solid manner. Be careful who you talk to about your ideas at this time, however, as someone may try to steal or undermine them in some way. Hush is the word. What does the coming year hold for you?
