Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the Full Moon occurs in your 2nd House of finances, possessions, pleasures, personal values and needs, indicating a culmination of something in that area of your life. There are some interesting aspects giving this lunation its character that may lend a clue regarding what you can expect from it. Most obvious is a Yod, or Finger of God, that has Mars and Mercury at the base and Neptune, you Sign Ruler, at the eye. To give you an overview of what comprise a yod and thus some understanding of its effect, the base consists of a sextile, which usually indicates an opportunity, and the base is connected to the eye with two quincunxes, which usually means an adjustment or change of course is required that will take you to whatever awaits at the eye. So, with that in mind, let's see what's up for you Fishies. Mars is in fellow Water Sign, Cancer, your 5th House of ego, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. Mars isn't particularly at home in Cancer, which tends to dampen his fiery nature a bit. Nonetheless, his energy has been there, which should have stirred up a few things in that area of your life. Mercury is in Virgo, your 7th House of relationships, which includes close friends and relatives, significant others, business partners and if you're in business for yourself, your cliental. Mercury facilitates communications as well as our thoughts an ideas and rules transportation but with this placement the emphasis has probably been on increased communications with those close to you. With the sextile to Mars, the topics of these conversations or exchanges by whatever media you may have employed were probably centered on those 5th House issues noted above, such as creative endeavors, kids, romance or means of enjoying yourself. In the stressful environment you probably exist in today like most others I sincerely hope that this brings some pleasant experiences your way. It certainly looks friendly, even though that is not a word usually associated with Mars, which can bring confrontations as well. But hopefully with a soft aspect like a sextile and hailing from a generally pleasant house where Mars is largely subdued, that will be the case. So that is the foundation of this yod. The two quincunxes tie the base to Neptune who's in Aquarius, your 12th House of enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, transcendence, institutions, confinement, hidden enemies and, of all things, large animals. Neptune has been in that vicinity for a long, long time so his presence there, enhancing your imagination and such, is nothing new by any means. This should have been very comfortable for you Pisces, not only since it's your Sign Ruler but also because his placement in the 12th House is rather fitting as well; as you probably know, Pisces is the 12th house of the zodiac and thus where you consider home. You live for this sort of stuff, at least the positive side, and thrive on new experiences, new insights, esoteric subjects, and anything that helps you escape from a boring, mundane existence saturated with far too much reality. I'm with you there, folks, since reality these days is often not a pretty sight. And while one thing that Pisces need to be cautious about is not being in touch with reality, in this particular case it looks as if the Universe is actually encouraging you to get back in touch with your dreams, though perhaps they've had to undergo a few revisions. Mars is also forming a trine to Uranus, further emphasizing some creative energy or stimulation in that 5th House. If your birthday is right around March 14, this will have even more punch since Uranus is conjunct your Natal Sun, which is probably stirring things up quite a bit. If you haven't exactly felt like yourself lately or others have been pointing this out with the added possibility that you've even gotten yourself in trouble in some way, this would be the cause. Uranus could definitely incite you to be rebellious, quirky, perhaps volatile, very unpredictable, but this could also result in some serious innovation. This transit will change you in some way and could have an unpleasant affect on your relationships, particularly your responsibilities in that part of your life. Any obligations that hold you down will feel very restrictive and you will undoubtedly want to break free. However, before you do anything too dramatic, be sure to count the cost, and listen to someone you respect who you know has a whole lot of common sense, perhaps a practical Virgo you've known for a while. Maybe all you need is something new such as a shift of your focus; as a significator of a culmination, a Full Moon also can point toward a new phase. Consider whether meeting new people, affiliating yourself with some new organization or getting involved in some other group activities might be what you're looking for. If someone invites you to participate in something like that, give it serious thought. For example, if someone close to you tells you, "What you need is to come to my yoga class with me," you probably should. Remember that the Full Moon is in your 2nd House of needs and pleasures which, if you've been neglecting these lately, require some balance. It's also the house of finance, however, so maybe all of this is a new approach to how you earn your living. Either way, keep them in the back of your mind as you think about all this. The harshest aspect is a square between Saturn and Pluto, two bad boys that often bring us things we'd prefer to avoid. They both have a purpose in your life, however, and ignoring them, or at least trying to, isn't a good idea. Saturn is in that 7th House of relationships and either signifies those responsibilities noted earlier or an authority figure. Pluto is in your 11th House of friends, groups, and organizations where he may be digging up something in that part of your life that needs attention; goals are part of that venue, so consider them as well. It could be something you never knew or maybe something you buried because you didn't want to deal with it. Actually, Pluto does a rather famous job of cleaning out the basement, attic, and garage of our psyches, but someone may be forcing the issue such that you can't ignore it, like it or not. It's interesting that there are indications for something new but positive coming into your life in this area in spite of this nasty gram from two of the Universe's sternest tutors. This implies a happy ending to me, so take care of business and the end result should be favorable. And that ought to give you plenty to think about with regard to the Full Moon. The New Moon on October 18 is in your 8th House of transformation, sex, death and shared resources. This is Pluto's domain, and he and Saturn are still frowning at each other so that responsibility or authority figure that's giving you some grief is still trying to get your attention about something. Those of you born around March 14 - 15 will be feeling this, too, probably more than others, and a transformational change is very likely to be on your horizon. This lunation is a mixed bag of hard and soft aspects, so the implication is all pointing in a positive direction, though you need to not be passive. Pay attention to what's going on and take whatever action is required to keep yourself headed in the direction you want to go. Speaking of action, Mars has crawled out of the drink and is now in a more hospitable Fire Sign, i.e. Leo, so he is functioning more like his usual self. Leo is your 6th House of work, health, service, and pets as well as anything that keeps you busy and productive. Forces there are indicating some adjustments are in order regarding those group associations and anything that is being unearthed in that part of your life. However, that zodiacal neighborhood also includes your goals, hopes, and wishes, as noted earlier, so perhaps Pluto's function there is to facilitate an audit of that part of your life. This would correlate quite nicely with getting back in touch with your dreams, as implied by the Full Moon. Since Fishies are perceptive by nature, I imagine you will pick up on all this just fine. There are numerous favorable aspects with this lunation that look promising. First of all, if that authority figure happens to be your boss, it looks like her or she may be providing you with an opportunity there at work that could be beneficial. Don't hesitate to take the ball and run on that one, even if it means assuming more responsibility or some hard work. Windows of opportunity eventually close and you never know what you missed if you let them pass unutilized. Opportunities to pursue a new direction that may relate to your goals or associations are also there and may take you by surprise. Again, follow your instincts and don't dismiss something that gives you that naggy feeling that you should take action. If you haven't gotten back in touch with those dreams or redefined them, there's some help there for that as well. Bear in mind that this could constitute one of those major "Aha!" moments where you see things you'd previously missed or have an entirely new take on what's going on around you. There are various favorable indications that you can restore your belief in your dreams and define the path, even though there is no promise that this will be a painless process. It's all a matter of how badly you want it and what you're willing to do or possibly give up to get there. Short-term Aspects October 1: The month starts out with a yod with the asteroid, Chiron, which looks like its trying to get you to confront a mistake or disappointment of some sort. Don't trip over your ego or get defensive about it; rather take your stripes, call it tuition, and move on to bigger and better things. October 4: Full Moon today as described above. October 8 - 9: Conversations with an authority figure close to you, such as your boss, are likely today. A female in your life may do something unexpected or surprise you in some way as well which might be the hint you need to start redefining those dreams. Mercury goes into Libra today, further enhancing the information flow you need to figure out where you are and need to go from here. October 10: A major revelation is possible today. Make sure you find some quiet time for contemplation so you don't miss it. Give serious consideration to your goals, hopes and wishes and if they're still on track. Especially look for anything you missed or have been in denial regarding. October 12 - 13: If you have some creative ideas regarding your responsibilities or something you want to pursue that relates to an authority figure there's an opportunity in there you should pursue. You will be looked upon in a favorable way and the results will be beneficial, making the effort well worth it. October 14 - 15: Venus goes into Libra on the 14th, bringing positive vibes to your 8th House of transformation. If you happen to be male, this could also have sexual implications. There is also something going on with respect to whatever you're supposed to be reworking with your associations, friends, or possible those goals. If you're trying to get a loan, your past may present a problem. October 16: Mars enters Leo, bringing his energy to your work, health and other activities. Use the energy in a positive way. Otherwise you may find yourself being confronted by coworkers. Today is another one where something could come to light that has a sudden, transformational effect on you. Take a hard look at those dreams again and be open to inspiration. October 18: New Moon today as described above. October 20: Another good day for some serious contemplation. An "AHA!" moment is very possible so make time to listen to what the Universe is trying to tell you. October 23 - 24: The Sun goes into Scorpio on the 23rd, bringing his light to your 9th House of beliefs and expectations. Opportunities from your group associations or friends may also arise, influencing your ability to see beneath the surface. What you perceive will require some adjustments at a personal level or perhaps a change of course. Inspiration is available as well so be sure to use it. October 28: Mercury goes into Scorpio, facilitating communications relative to higher education, relocation, cultural matters, long distance travel and so forth. This will also stimulate thoughts and ideas as they relate to your beliefs and expectations. There's quite a bit of luck out there today, not so much in the material sense, but for getting in touch with your spiritual self, inspiration, and more of that "AHA!" moment stuff. Whether its related to your organizational ties or those goals, hopes and wishes, expect to start figuring a few things out in that regard. October 29: Saturn goes into Libra today, which begins a rather long sojourn in your 8th House. This will bring a new sense of responsibility that will develop over the next few years during this transit. You will take some things more seriously than in the past and recognize a few matters you've missed. You will gradually evolve to a different person, but this will be a lengthy process that will largely be developing behind the scenes. Various experiences and events will influence it that you may not recognize at the time, yet you'll be changed by them. Your beliefs and view of the world will be on the forefront today and may involve some incident at work where you feel as if you're under attack. Do you have a NEW Sun Sign?
