This month will be a busy month for Leos on a variety of fronts. There's a fair amount going on at home coupled with some neighborhood activity along with some fairly significant shifts going on relative to your work and finances. The good news is that there's nothing inherently "bad" out there with the main caution this month the fact that Mercury is retrograde until October 14. Mercury is currently in your 3rd House, which includes mental activity and intellect, so you may have a more difficult time than usual putting your thoughts together. The real key to surviving these annoying periods, however, is to recognize it's a favorable time to rethink and re-plan. Moving forward isn't very likely, but making sure you didn't miss anything is favored. It's simply a matter of "for everything there is a season" and using the energy in a way that it works for rather than against you. As always, don't make any major purchases at this time, especially anything mechanical or electronic, as it's likely to not work properly for as long as you own it.

A long-term aspect out there that will have some interesting effects in the long-haul is a configuration known as a Triangle of Potential involving Saturn, Jupiter, and Uranus. Saturn has been in your 2nd House of finance, possessions, and pleasures for quite a while. This may not have always been pleasant, unless you have a firm grip on your checkbook and budget, plus take good care of your possessions. Saturn can be a stern task-master and he'll impose hard lessons when necessary where structure, discipline and responsibility are lacking. During October, he'll be opposite Uranus, planet of change, disruptions, unexpected events, and surprises, who's hanging out in your 8th House of transformation, sex, death, and other people's resources. This could play out in any number of ways and if there's one thing for sure, it's that you can't predict what Uranus will do because by his very nature he's full of surprises. Even when you know something is going to happen, it will still take you by surprise and be different than expected.

Just to give you a general idea what to watch for, this aspect could trigger anything from an unexpected windfall to something that completely changes your attitude and way of thinking about your material possessions. For example, if you're one of the unfortunate people recently affected by Hurricane Ike, chances are you have a different view of your possessions than you did before.

The third party in this astrological triad is Jupiter, who's chugging along through your 6th House of work, health and pets. Jupiter is a benefic planet who usually brings good luck and expansion our way. He'll be in positive aspect to both Saturn and Uranus, which implies that whatever comes along is going to be to your benefit and will probably relate to your work in some way, e.g. an increase in responsibility as well as income.

Note that this could also relate to your health since the 2nd house also includes your body, your number one possession, and the 6th includes your health. Thus, this could be a favorable time to make some changes regarding your diet and fitness program as well. If you've been ignoring this particular obligation, then Saturn will probably be tutoring you in this regard as well. In either case, whether it relates to your material possession or physical health, something will occur this month that brings about a change of a transformational nature and is beneficial, at least in the long-run.

During the first week of the month, Mars will sextile Pluto, which will relate initially to your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, and your immediate neighborhood, then move into your 4th House of home environment on October 5th. Mars is imparting plenty of energy to those venues and Pluto, who moves at glacial speeds, is in your 5th House of creativity, romance, children, entertainment, and speculation. Pluto excels at unearthing old issues that haven't been resolved and takes us to a deeper level of understanding. If there's anything you've swept under the rug some time ago that relates to any of these areas, Pluto will be prodding you to take care of business once and for all. The New Moon on October 28 is also in your 4th House so something new is coming relative to your home.

This aspect with Mars implies a number of possibilities, including an initial increase in thoughts and ideas or possibly neighborhood issues, followed by more activity with your children that brings out something you didn't know; having friends or associates over for a party that brings out hidden information of some type; or possibly putting your creative juices to work with some redecorating. With Pluto in your house of speculation, if you have any interests in the stock market, this bodes well for research and finding out any dirty little secrets out there that pertain to your investments. The 5th House is Leo's natural zodiacal domain, so you're a natural in any and all of these areas. Whatever you have going there will bring some good ideas your way that will ultimately result in an opportunity that affects your home environment in some way. On the down side, arguments could increase at home and if there are any power trips involved with family members, they could also be affected. Between October 19 - 28 the Sun will sextile Pluto, which will bring some more emphasis to this same area that should help finish up anything that wasn't completed earlier, perhaps by bringing more information your way.

From October 3 - 11 the Sun will square Jupiter. This involves your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas and neighborhood again as well as your 6th House of work, health and pets. This should stimulate some good ideas related to work or possibly toward that fitness program you should be thinking bout.

The Sun will trine Neptune from October 10 - 18, which will bring attention to your relationships in some way. This is a harmonious aspect that should have pleasant effects. Neptune fuels our fantasies and imagination, so this could easily bring some ideas your way regarding how to improve or invigorate one or more relationships. Remember that in an astrological context relationships pertain to all one-on-one interactions, including not only your significant other but close friends and relatives, business associates, and so forth. If you're in business for yourself, it also includes your patrons.

The Full Moon on the 14th occurs in your 9th House of beliefs, legal matters, higher education and long-distance travel, indicating that an activity in one of those areas will come to a close or begin a new phase. Mars will sextile Jupiter from October 22 - 31 which will tie your home and work together in some manner that should bring an opportunity your way, perhaps as a result of entertaining you did earlier in the month.

This will be a busy month, mentally, emotionally, and possibly physically. There's a lot going on close to home and with the people in your life. This is also a good time to take a break for yourself to evaluate what's going on around you. Like all Fire Signs, Leos tend to be spontaneous and don't always plan as well as they should. If you've rushed through something that requires some tweaking use that Mercury retrograde period to take a second look to make sure you're headed in the right direction. In particular, think about your finances and make sure you're taking Saturn's advice as something is likely to happen this month that will let you know whether you're on the right track or not.
