Lunations and Long-term Aspects

If your birthday lies between July 24 - 28, you will be undergoing some major life changes this month as the South Node of the Moon contacts your Natal Sun. This will be a time when you'll be reassessing what direction you're headed and receive various indicators, albeit sign posts along the way, that will help you find where that happens to be. It's time to leave something behind and if you don't already know what this is, the Cosmos will be extending some assistance. If your life isn't everything you'd like it to be, take a good, hard, honest look at what you need to release to achieve your heart's desire.

The Full Moon occurs on May 8 in Scorpio, your 4th House of home environment. There are numerous interesting conjunctions attending this lunation which indicate how you can expect it to affect you. First of all, both Venus and Mars are in Aries, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, legal matters, higher education, and long distance travel, which includes relocation. This implies that you'll be addressing one of these issues, either directly or through discussion, with someone of the opposite sex who may or may not be your significant other. A Full Moon indicates a culmination, so if you've been dealing with something related to the 9th House for a while, it may be ready to reach a conclusion or at least shift to a different phase. This will affect all Leos but will have the strongest impact on those with birthdays that lie between August 16 - 21, give or take a day or so.

Another interesting aspect involves a stellium, which by definition is three or more astrological entities grouped together in some manner, such as in the same sign or house. In this case, we have Jupiter, Neptune, and the asteroid, Chiron, in close conjunction in Aquarius, your 7th House of close relationships. A conjunction between Jupiter and Neptune will color your beliefs with a new level of idealism and compassion. Jupiter expands what he touches, meaning you will reach new levels of understanding in this part of your life with respect with those close to you. Remember that relationships in the astrological context include not only your significant other but close friends and relatives and business associates; if you're in business for yourself it also includes your clientele. However, with the Moon in your 4th House of home environment, the relationships in this case are most likely to involve your family.

With Chiron sandwiched in the middle between them, this is likely to have a healing effect. Chiron in your natal chart indicates which area of your life where you are most likely to experience hurts of a physical, mental, emotional or spiritual nature. These wounds never heal, but our charge is to take that pain we've experienced and go forth to help others suffering in a similar manner. Therefore, it's time for deepened understanding relative to your relationships, which will have a healing effect on you and perhaps others. Uranus is interacting with this stellium as well in such a way that it's likely that an unexpected event or surprising news of some description will trigger this process of dealing with one or more relationship. All of this will have a transformation effect on you, meaning you'll be a slightly different person with heightened understanding when all is said and done.

The New Moon on May 24th is in Gemini, your 11th House of friends, organizations, coworkers and hopes and wishes. As always, this New Moon heralds something new coming into your life. The aspects aren't too much different than those in effect at the Full Moon, but there are different implications. Remember this is a time when you're supposed to leave something behind and set off on some new paths. Therefore, if you took care of business at the Full Moon, you may be ready to step toward something new. While Uranus is still stirring things up relative to your beliefs, expectations and relationships, the New Moon throws Mercury into it as well. Mercury is retrograde most of this month, which implies that you still have something that needs to be reviewed and revised, perhaps related to your career or life's direction. If you feel as if you're ripe for a career change, you're probably correct. Thus, news may come of a new job or opportunity that you should recognize as one of those sign posts noted earlier. The New Moon itself indicates new friends or coworkers coming into your life, so give it some thought. If your birthday is between July 24 - 28, opportunities are coming your way, so don't ignore them. As a Fixed Sign you don't particularly like change, but in this case it is probably in your best interest, so consider it carefully before tossing it aside.

Short-term Aspects

As always, the transits this month support the milestones represented by the Full and New Moon. May starts out with Venus squaring Pluto until May 9th. With Venus in your 9th House of beliefs and expectations squared off with Pluto in your 6th House of work, health and small animals, you'll be taking a hard look at past occurrences in the work place or regarding your health than are in conflict with your heart's desires. This is particularly applicable if you're in a dead-end job that leaves you drained at the end of the day. If you have high aspirations that you've been neglecting, it's time to ditch that old baggage and get back on track.

When the Sun trines Saturn on May 5th, financial concerns will highlighted, but in a positive manner. If you've been struggling in this area, perhaps it's time that something came along to assist in this area. Of course this all ties in with the other changes. Mercury goes retrograde on May 6, which is usually not exactly cause for celebration. This is when electronic and mechanical devices of all descriptions typically go nuts and make us crazy with their malfunctions and the inconveniences they cause. Whatever you do don't buy anything that fits in those categories at this time or they'll forever be a lemon. However, since Mercury is in your 10th House of career, the true implications of this are that you truly do need to be rethinking and replanning something related to your long-term goals and public image. Whatever work you should be pursuing is beckoning, but you need to reconsider a few things before moving forward. This will be obvious around the 11th when something is going to come up that causes a change of direction regarding your finances. Look beneath the surface to see what the true message is here as it undoubtedly relates to that change of direction in some way.

May 16th, give or take a day, will bring more career issues into focus, particularly if it has been causing problems in your relationships. Pay attention to the events that occur at this time because you are ripe for a transformational change associated with the Aha! moments you experience as a result. In other words, if you haven't seen the sign posts yet, you probably will now unless you're deliberately ignoring them, which isn't a very good idea. When the Universe speaks we do well to listen. A few days later on the 18th the Sun and Mercury will be in conjunction, which should bring a flood of information and/or thoughts in your direction related to all that career business.

More action is coming around the 20th when all those issues that came up around the 16th will make more sense and be open for discussion with the relevant parties. Be wary of delusions, but listen with an open mind and heart. It's time for another change of direction that will be driven by your beliefs and ultimately affect your financial stability. On the 21st the Sun goes into Gemini, highlighting your 11th House of groups, friends, coworkers, and so forth. Thus, if you should be starting something new in this part of your life, the facts will become more noticeable and help evoke those transformation changes. More introspection relative to your current job will further call for some adjustments around the 23rd, right around the time of the New Moon. Discoveries of something hidden, either related to your job or perhaps your feelings about it, should surface at this time.

Opportunities to take the necessary action to heal those relationships will be active on the 26th, with your insights into your relationships peaking even further at this time. Mercury goes direct on May 30th, which will give you the go-ahead, because if you've done your homework you should be ready to move forward at this time.

Clearly this will be a significant month for you with lots to consider, deal with, and then move forward accordingly. Again, don't be afraid of change unless your life is utterly perfect. If it is, be prepared for change that is imposed upon you since our lives cycle in and out with good versus challenges. It's time for you to let a few things go, especially those born late in July, and if you don't it will hold you back and you'll be tripping over it, so decide what course changes you need to make then look for helping hands along the way. More than likely they will be there.
