Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month the Full and New Moon each involve an eclipse, which will give them quite a bit more punch than usual.  If nothing else, the effects last longer and are more pervasive.  Eclipses come in groups known as the Saros series and this one is known as 11 South.  The overall influence of this particularly family is that of sudden reforms.  Old methods are no longer effective and new ones must be devised before progress will occur.  If there are any obstacles in the way, they could be removed suddenly and forcefully.  This pertains to the world at large as well as our individual lives.  Each individual eclipse has its own personality, just as each family member is unique in some way.  For eclipses this will derive from the aspects accompanying it and its affect on you will depend on which house they fall upon.

For the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on July 7 the Sun is in Cancer, your 10th House of career and reputation, and the Moon is in Capricorn, your 4th House of home environment.  Thus, there is emphasis on your career and influence on the world while something associated with your home environment will be eclipsed or hidden in some manner.  Thus, one place to look for sudden reforms and the need for new methods of dealing with problems would be in the way you balance your home and career ambitions.

One aspect associated with this Full Moon is a Triangle of Potential created by Saturn, who is forming a sextile to the Sun and a trine to the Moon, and thus tying their opposition together in a favorable way that can serve as an apex for solving the dilemma.  Saturn is all about hard lessons, discipline, responsibility, obligations, delays, authority, and structure and he's camped out in your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, oppression, confinement, institutions and hidden enemies as well as the collective consciousness.  Saturn in the 12th can pertain to such things as imprisonments and hospital stays or, on a more positive note, to the discipline required to pursue enlightenment through meditation or reaching a higher spiritual plane.  Of course the next question is how such things could possibly mediate the ongoing dilemma between home and career?  That is a good question that I can't even begin to answer, but if the home/career dilemma is one you're struggling with at this time, I would take a good, hard look at those 12th House elements for some answers.  It could be as simple as working on your spiritual side and opening yourself up to the inspiration required to solve it.  Maybe the reason there's a dilemma is because you're too entrenched in worldliness and need to look beyond it to find more meaning in your life.

Another aspect accompanying the Full Moon is a quincunx between Venus and Pluto.  Venus is in Gemini, your 9th House of higher learning, legal matters, long-distance travel, relocation as well as beliefs and expectations.  Venus usually brings good fortune along, so if you have something going on in one of these aforementioned areas, you can be grateful.  Pluto, however, is in your 4th House, which we talked about earlier as comprising your home environment.  Pluto unearths anything hidden that needs to be released.  It can be troublesome to be sure, but when all is said and done the exposure has a healing effect.  A quincunx indicates an adjustment is required or in some cases a Catch-22 situation, so a possible way this could play out might be that your expectations regarding your family are not grounded in reality and need to be realigned.  On the other hand, maybe you have to travel a lot for work and it's causing problems at home, or you've been working and going to school, which could also cause problems.  If things haven't been going well at home and you're not sure why, Pluto will undoubtedly help you figure it out.

Also in force for this lunar eclipse is a square between Mars in your 8th House of transformations and a stellium comprising Jupiter, Neptune, and the asteroid, Chiron in your 5th House of creativity, ego, children, romance, and speculation.  This stellium has been in effect for quite a while now and is currently retrograde, individually and collectively, turning the energy inward.  In your 5th House this could serve to stimulate your creativity with a huge dose of inspiration.  Along similar lines to developing your spiritual self, expanding your creativity in this manner could have a therapeutic effect on the stress in your life.

When you throw Mars in the equation, however, it gives it a different spin.  Mars in the 8th House should be taken quite seriously as its energy sometimes manifests in accidents or violence.  Thus, this is a time to be extra careful and not take any unnecessary chances until July 11, when Mars goes into Gemini.  It could also represent a shocking revelation of some sort that has a transformational effect.  The 8th House comprises sex, death, transformations, other people's money and shared resources, so Mars in this venue throws energy toward it all.  It could be a big hit to a shared resource that in turn creates a crisis with your ego, children, or love interest.  This is likely to come in an unexpected way that could relate to your job or anything you're working on.  Be especially aware of any risks in these areas and exercise even more caution than usual.

Now take all that and put it in the context of sudden reforms and finding new methods to deal with your problems and see what you come up with.

The New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 21 is in Cancer, just a breath away from Leo.  If your birthday is within a day or so of October 23rd, this will have more influence on you, but in either case it's in your 10th House of career and reputation.  The Sun/Moon pair is quincunx Pluto, again influencing your home environment and indicating the need for some adjustments or a Catch-22 situation to deal with.  Uranus, planet of surprises, rebellion, sudden change and unexpected events, is trine the New Moon from your 6th House of work and health, implying something you don't see coming at work is on the way, but it will probably have a positive effect in the long run.

Saturn in the 12th House of inspiration and so forth is square Venus in your 9th, indicating a close look is warranted at your beliefs and whether they require an overhaul.  Mars is bringing plenty of energy to your 9th House and stimulating your thoughts in a positive way that will be best applied within your circle of friends, coworkers, or any organizations with which you're affiliated.

Short-term and Daily Aspects

The first two days of July both Mercury and Venus will be throwing some energy toward that stellium in your 5th House of creativity, kids, lovers, speculation and ego expression.  These should stir things up in a positive way even though it's likely to come in an unexpected way that probably relates to your job or some other project you're working on.  On July 3 Mercury goes into Cancer, your 10th House of career and reputation, which will help stimulate communications and thought toward this part of your life; this will last until the 17th, so make use of it while it's there.  Mercury opposes Pluto on July 4th, which looks like news on the career front is going to unearth something on the home front that will require your attention.  Venus goes into Gemini on July 5, bringing her good vibes to your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning and such.

July 6 - 7 Mars will be messing with that stellium, as noted above with respect to the Full Moon, so these are days to be especially cautious and not take any foolish chances, no matter what they may be.  While the effects of the Full Moon can last for a while, they are most likely to peak at the time of the eclipse.  On July 9 the Sun will sextile Saturn, perhaps bringing some inspiration to your career, which will be further reinforced on the 10th when Jupiter and Neptune are conjunct.  On July 11 Mars goes into Gemini, leaving your 8th House behind, and from the12th through the 14th expect to come up with some specific ideas to build upon that inspiration from a few days before.  Also on the 14th Mars will quincunx Pluto, calling for some adjustments to your expectations with regard to your home environment.  This will be followed the next day by some sudden ideas related to that stellium stimulating your imagination as it cruises along in your 5th House of creativity, children, lovers, and speculation.

Mercury goes into Leo on July 17, which will enhance your ability to communicate with your friends, coworkers, or within any organizations of which you're a member or participant.  From July 18 - 19, creative adjustments will save the day as far as your career is concerned and on the 20th ideas that come your way from those around you will further enhance your beliefs and expectations or perhaps an experience with those from another culture.  The New Moon/Solar Eclipse occurs on the 21st with influences as noted above.  The Sun goes into Leo on the 22nd, bringing light and emphasis to your 11th House at this time which comprises your friends, group associations, and so forth.  If you're increasing your group involvement in some way, that is going to necessitate more adjustments at home around the 23rd.  Venus trines that Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron stellium between July 27 - 28, which will further enhance your beliefs with some inspired, creative energy.

The month finishes up with Mercury opposing Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron, indicating that some information or ideas will come your way that will challenge it in some manner.  Venus goes into Cancer on July 31, bringing her good vibes to your 10th House of career; put them to good use.

This will be a busy month replete with a plethora of balancing acts that involve your career, home, your expectations, and ability to find creative yet realistic solutions to a variety of dilemmas and challenges.  Libras value fairness, but remember it's also important to be fair to yourself.  You do not always have to be the one to make all the adjustments and compromises.  Engage in some good, honest conversations expressed in your signature non-confrontational way and you'll be able to figure out the best course for all concerned.
