Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month we have both a lunar and solar eclipse which will give the Full and New Moon some additional punch. These eclipses are designated as part of the family known as 11 South in the Saros series. Their character is to bring sudden reforms due to the fact that old methods are no longer effective and problem solving requires a new approach. Obstacles in your way could be removed suddenly in a potentially forceful manner. This will be the overall theme that will play out for the next month or so. Like all family members, each has its own personality and character and these lunations are no exception. Even though they'll maintain the basic characteristics of the 11 South family, they will still be unique as reflected in the aspects that accompany them. The Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on July 7 occurs in Capricorn, your 6th House of work, health and pets. "Work" can be your day job or how your occupy your time with various projects. For this lunation the Sun is in Cancer, your 12th House of dreams, inspiration, enlightenment, spirituality, institutions, confinement and hidden enemies, and will be bringing emphasis to this part of your life until the 22nd when he moves into your Sign. The first aspect of note associated with this eclipse is a Triangle of Potential created by Saturn who's sextile the Sun and trine the Moon, creating a pivot point between them and thus a means to resolve any challenges instituted by the Full Moon. Saturn is in Virgo, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs, and comforts. Saturn is all about hard lessons, discipline, authority, responsibility, obligations, delays and sometimes separations. This is obviously not a planet whom you particularly welcome to your 2nd House. However, the planets go where they will, so all we can do is deal with them and learn the lesson the Universe would have us assimilate. Since a ToP is largely a favorable aspect, this is not necessarily a bad thing, Saturn notwithstanding. If your finances have been less than stellar lately you're not alone, even though yours may be a bit more challenging due to Saturn's presence in your 2nd House. The Sun is in your 12th House which, as noted earlier, includes confinement, institutions and hidden enemies while the Full Moon/Eclipse is in your 6th House of work and health. If you've been encountering challenges at work, there's a good chance that this lunation will herald their culmination. Maybe your problem with work has been that you simply don't make enough money. Maybe the answer isn't to generate more but to be more careful with what you have. Leos like nice things and find it difficult if not impossible to give them up. However, if Saturn is camped out in your 2nd House he's probably trying to tell you that you need to acquire more discipline in this part of your life. There is nothing that feels more confining than financial problems, so maybe your path to freedom entails more financial responsibility. The stellium that comprises Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron conjunct in Aquarius, your 7th House of relationships, is retrograde, individually and collectively, which will internalize this energy. There will be some weird things going on with your relationships during this transit and it would serve you well to give that a lot of thought since how we interact with others has a strong influence on our lives. Sometimes you may be too trusting and others too assuming, both of which can cause hurt feelings to a Leo's big heart. For this Full Moon Mars is squaring the entire stellium from your 10th House of career and reputation. Mars in the 10th can yield a lot of career drive, but it can also make others perceive you an overly aggressive. Conversely, it can also be reflected such that you'll have to deal with aggressive people or competition in this area. With Mars squaring the stellium, it implies that this will splash on your relationships in some way; you may find that people you thought were your friend aren't or vice versa. Something is up in this area and when all is said and done it will have a transformational effect on you; you'll never see things exactly the same as you do now again. Now is as good of time as any to reflect once more on the overall theme of this eclipse, which is to institute sudden reforms. Your relationships and finances will be key areas where this will apply. The New Moon/Solar Eclipse occurs on July 21 in Cancer, a little over a half degree from the cusp of Leo. Thus, if your birthday is right around July 22, give or take a day or so, this is going to have a strong influence on you. The Sun/Moon pair is quincunx Pluto, who's in your 6th House where the Full Moon occurred, influencing your work or health in some manner. A Catch-22 situation of some sort between you and your job or something you're working on will get your attention. Pluto motivates us to look very closely at things that may be worn out or no longer needed or should be renovated in some way. Now is the time to take a look at your job or how you spend your time in this context. It's also time to look at your relationships, particularly with your friends and coworker or any organizations with which you're affiliated. Don't be overly hard on yourself or anyone else, but give them a serious assessment as far as whether the time you spend with them is worth it or not. Communicating in a direct way with anyone in this category is favored, so take advantage of it. And once again remember the theme of these eclipses is sudden reforms and finding a new approach. Those of you with birthdays between July 22 - 25 can expect to leave something behind as the Moon's South Node contacts your Natal Sun. This is a time to let go of something, particularly if it has been holding you back, such as a bad habit. A new relationship is likely as well as the North Node crosses over your 7th House cusp. Short-term Aspects July starts out with Mercury and Venus interacting with that stellium in your 7th House of relationships along with a few surprises. This will most likely come from amongst your coworkers or friends and affect you in a lasting manner. Mercury goes into Cancer on July 3, stimulating your thoughts of such things as dreams, inspiration, confinement, and all those other 12th House elements noted earlier. On July 4 Mercury opposes Pluto, which will serve to expose information of some description, most likely related to your job. Venus goes into Gemini, your 11th House of friends, coworkers, group associations and hopes and wishes on the 5th, which will reflect upon you in a positive way. Others will see you in a positive light and be receptive to you generally, so this is the time to ask for help or favors from this venue as required. July 6 - 7 Mars will be stirring up those relationship issues, particularly as they relate to your work and career. This is also when that Full Moon occurs. On July 9 the Sun sextiles Saturn, which is going to call attention to those financial issues you need to address. On July 10 be on the lookout for something to happen with one or more relationships that may not be as it appears, so be sure to gather all the facts before reacting. On July 11 Mars goes into Gemini, bringing energy and drive to your 11th House of friends, coworkers, and organizational activity. On July 12 Mercury sextiles Saturn, which may bring some inspiration your way regarding those financial issues. One possibility is that you'll think of something you could get rid of to generate some funds or perhaps do to earn some extra income. This will become even clearer on the 14th when the Sun conjoins Mercury, which could yield some major inspiration. Also on the 14th some adjustments related to work or your career will become necessary with more information to follow regarding your relationships until the 16th. Mercury goes into Leo on July 17, which will help your thoughts focus more clearly than they did when Mercury was in you woo-woo 12th House. This will be further reinforced the next few days as the Sun reveals a few specific adjustments that should be considered regarding some people who are close to you. On July 20 Mercury sextiles Mars, bringing an opportunity your way to express any ideas you have regarding those organizational activities, your friends or coworkers. On July 21 give some serious thought to how various relationships are working out along with all those other influences the New Moon will bring. On July 22 the Sun goes into Leo, bringing his warmth and emphasis to you as well as your Solar Return, which marks the beginning of a new cycle. Adjustments at work are likely to be required on the 23rd, then from the 27th - 28th Venus will be throwing a nice, friendly trine to that Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron stellium, which may bring a new, positive relationship your way or simply demonstrate the true value of an existing one, perhaps in a surprising way. From July 30 - 31 Mercury will stir up communications with regard to your relationships, along with some unexpected adjustments that will have a lasting effect on you. Venus goes into Cancer on July 31, bringing her blessings to your spiritual life along with some inspiration. This month is going to contain a lot of activity regarding your relationships. It's a time to decide which ones are worth keeping and whether or not everyone you trust is worthy of it. If your finances have been troubling you lately the Universe will assist you in finding the root cause along with some ideas to remedy the situation. These will keep you occupied as well as facilitate a few changes that will have a lasting effect on you. Keep the theme of the eclipses in mind, i.e., old methods are no longer going to be effective.
