Lunations and Long Term Aspects Before getting into this month's lunations, and there are three this month, let's take a look at that Pluto - Saturn square which is still in effect, even though it was exact in November. This is one of those long-term aspects that will persist for quite awhile, in this case from now until mid-March 2010, then resuming in July until September, which gives you plenty of time to learn and adjust. For Rams these effects will be a restructuring of your relationships in such a way that it reworks your public image. You value your freedom and don't like to be tied down, yet you may find that you are also not getting where you'd like in life. With Pluto, the zodiacal roto-rooter, in your 10th House of career, status and public image, you can expect significant lessons to come your way in this area, especially those of you born between March 21 - 27. What exactly is your public image? Is it what you want and beneficial? "Status" is another element of the 10th House and covers a wide scope best described as anything that can include a title or label. For example, when you become a graduate, spouse, property owner, obtain (or lose) a job, or anything that affects how you're viewed by the public, it affects your status. Anything you've ever done that affected this part of your life will be unearthed over the next several years, especially if it's something you'd rather keep hidden. This is not to say that it will be displayed as a headline in the New York Times, but anything you've tried to ignore or bury is going to come out with all the finesse of a zombie and demand absolution. The good news is that over the long-haul, this will have a healing effect, such as when you have to bring in a backhoe to dig up that beautifully landscaped yard in order to deal with those tree roots that have penetrated your sewer lines. It may make a horrific mess for a while, but once the repair work is done and the dirt put back in place, everything will eventually return to normal but here won't be anything lurking beneath the surface just waiting to make your life unpleasant. These won't necessarily be earth-shattering, depending on what you have to hide, and in reality no one may even give a rat's ass. If you're lucky, it may simply involve your own internal ruminations over past mistakes which you resolve privately to your own satisfaction. However, you should be aware of the influences the Universe is throwing your way and prepare yourself accordingly as the warrior you are. That is what Pluto is doing to your status and public image. Saturn is all about structure, established norms, authority, responsibility, wisdom and those hard lessons. He is the epitome of the saying "Good decisions come from experience and experience comes from bad decisions." He's a stern task-master who won't let you get away with anything, at least not forever, and if often the author of guilt. If all your relationships are healthy, this will be a rather quiet and natural transit where you assume your responsibilities without admonishment or prompting and feel good about them. If there is anything dysfunctional, however, the consequences will be apparent. With Pluto in cahoots with Saturn, any ties between your relationships and status or public image, especially those of a less than honorable nature, will be exposed. For clarification, these are 7th House relationships that include your significant other, ex-significant others, close friends and relatives, business partners, open enemies, and if you're in business for yourself, your cliental. If you've used any of these individuals in a deceitful way, you can expect it all to hit the fan during this time, particularly you March Rams. Fighting against the planets is an exercise in futility, even for your fierce Rams, so your best course is to know it's coming and be proactive in the resolution. If you are direct and up-front about past mistakes and are sincere in your desire to resolve them, you can still come out of it looking good. There's not a person alive who hasn't made mistakes and it takes a strong person to admit them. On the other hand, if you try to cover things up such that Pluto and Saturn get into full-blown astrological forensics, you aren't going to like the result. Consider yourself warned. So, moving right along, the Full Moon this month on December 2nd occurs in Gemini, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors, and short journeys. If your birthday is within a day or so of March 31 this Full Moon system comprising an opposition between the Sun and Moon will form a Triangle of Potential with your Natal Sun and mark the culmination of some fortuitous localized experiences being absorbed into your belief system. In other words, something you will have figured out or observed that relates to you at a local level will have a favorable affect on you such that your view of the world changes as a result. Other Aries will experience a similar effect but at a level that is less noticeable unless you specifically look for it. In its simplest form this will be one of those "Ha! It worked! I'll have to try that again!" moments. It's very likely that whatever this happens to be that it will be outside the box in some manner, i.e., something innovative, unconventional or unexpected that you felt at a intuitive level yet didn't expect to actually occur in the real world. In fact, it may be something that you openly opposed, only to find your initial call was wrong. This is never exactly a happy moment, but don't resist the associated learning experience as it will benefit you later. Your Sign Ruler, Mars, is in fellow Fire Sign, Leo, where he's forming a nice trine to your 5th House of ego definition, romance, children, speculation, entertainment and creative endeavors for those of you born within a day or so of April 7. Thus, if you're pursuing something in this area, your drive and energy on its behalf will be greatly enhanced and will help you bring something to completion or perhaps take it to the next level. This will benefit all Aries, but especially those of you where the aspect is exact. The New Moon on December 16 is in Sagittarius, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, other cultures, foreign or long-distance travel, relocation, legal matters and higher learning, indicating something new on the horizon in one or more of these areas. This is a very favorable time to put such a project in motion, so if you've been waiting until the right time, now is probably it. Aries don't tend to procrastinate, unless you have a Moon Sign that pushes you that way, but if you have, you will lose some advantage if you don't take action at this time. The New Moon is throwing some unexpected events or other surprises out there that may initially represent a challenge or crisis, but there are opportunities in there as well that primarily relate to your group associations, friends, and long-term goals that depend on the help and support of others. Interestingly enough, the planet making the most aspects and thus nearly the center of activity, is none other than your Sign Ruler, Mars, who is still in Leo, your 5th House of ego expression, kids, romance, speculation and so forth, bringing lots of energy your way in that regard. He could also be pitting you against some of the people that could help you, however, particularly if you let your ego get out of hand. Your drive and determination to be first will have some luck going for it in those 9th House pursuits defined above, however, though you may have to adjust your original goal. None of this is going to come easily, but if you persist, there are still definite opportunities, so don't give up too easily. Aries tend to be great starters yet frequently don't quite get around to finishing, so do whatever is necessary to remind yourself of why you want something to keep you motivated until completion. This New Moon will have the strongest effect on those of you born between April 11 - 15, give or take a day or so. This month there's a New Years Eve bonus, a third lunation for the month and also an eclipse to launch 2010. Depending on where you live, this Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon may occur on New Years Day. This eclipse is a member of the Saros Series known as 12 North, the general character of which according to eclipse expert, Bernadette Brady, is to provide opportunities for increased responsibility, perhaps because someone else is no longer able to do so. While this will represent a challenge, it also has the potential for a very favorable outcome. Since this eclipse occurs at 10:15 degrees in fellow Cardinal Sign, Cancer, this will create a T-Square with those of you born right around March 31, and thus have stronger impact on you than other Rams. Cancer is your 4th House of home environment implying it will be a member of your household that creates this situation. The specific aspects for this eclipse indicate you'll be looked upon very favorably as far as your public image or status is concerned, even though there will be some conflict involved that could well be that the demands of home and work keep pulling you in opposite directions. Mars is still hanging out in Leo, driving your creativity or personal pursuits which could include at least the suggestion of an ego trip, which could alienate you from some of the people who could lend assistance. Also note that at this time Mars is retrograde, driving that energy inward. Be careful what you say as it could come back to bite you, and also take a close look at where your current course is leading, as a few adjustments may be required if you want to take advantage of some unexpected or possibly entirely unconventional opportunities for spiritual growth or enlightenment. There could also be someone close to you who is trying to hold you back or discourage you. Listen carefully and decide whether or not their advice is in your best interest. Having your Sign Ruler retrograde from December 20 until March 9 is going to slow you down a bit as that energy is internalized. With Mars residing in your 5th House of ego expression and creativity during that time and covering degrees that will directly affect Rams born between March 21 - April 10, the important thing to remember is that the aspect is a friendly, harmonious trine, indicating that this will ultimately work to your advantage. You tend to be impulsive by nature, and this will help contain that a bit so that you can think things through more carefully prior to execution. The 5th House also includes your children, romantic interests, and speculations, so anything related to these areas may not progress, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. However, be on the lookout for any passive-aggressive actions on the part of others who reside in this house or tendencies on your part to act in that manner. Your best use of this energy is to direct it toward planning and also bearing in mind what Saturn is up to in your house of relationships as far as restructuring. Since Mercury goes retrograde on December 26, this further reinforces the wisdom of rethinking a few things during this time, particularly as they pertain to any core beliefs and expectations. Short Term/Daily Aspects December 1: Be open to new ideas or information that could inspire you relative to your long-term goals. Believe in yourself and your abilities. Your confidence with a touch of luck is there to help you. December 2: Full Moon today as described above. December 4: Look for opportunities to improve your attitude toward relationship responsibilities, which will prove beneficial in a variety of ways. December 5: Mercury goes into Capricorn, improving communications relative to your career or status activities. Someone close to you may get in the way of something you're trying to accomplish, not necessarily in a hostile manner, but such that what you'd hoped to accomplish gets delayed. December 7: Hidden information, perhaps related to a relationship, will come out today which may not be to your advantage. Pay attention to whatever this might be as it's likely to be a continued theme with regard to those relationship renovations noted above. December 8: Keep your ego in check today or you may do significant damage to how you're viewed by those around you. December 10: Significant news related to coworkers or associates will surface that may present an obstacle or annoyance. Take a good look at your core beliefs, particularly in regard to believing in yourself, and consider what your next forward step should be. December 11: Don't believe everything you hear today without sufficient evidence, particularly in the work place or in groups of people you associate with. The chances are high that it's inaccurate. December 14: Look for an unexpected burst of inspiration or other event that either challenges your existing beliefs or plans you have relative to a relocation, higher learning or legal matters. However, there are opportunities to advance yourself with your cohorts if you handle it correctly. December 15: Pay attention to those around you as they could provide some inspiration or new concepts to consider, particularly as it relates to your long-term goals. December 16: New Moon today as described above. December 17: Look for some lucky breaks toward what you're pursuing, perhaps through exercising your natural charm or a financial opportunity. Interactions with those of the opposite sex will go well today as well. December 19: If you have any hidden enemies of the female variety, they may throw something at you today. Something could also be more expensive than expected or hidden fees or charges hinder your progress in some manner. December 20: Mars goes retrograde today, so avoid additional frustration by not trying to progress directly for a while. Opportunities to expand upon your original goals are there, however, so look upon this as advantageous in the long run. Look for inspiration from friends or associates. December 21: The Sun goes into Capricorn, bringing emphasis to your career and public image. If you're involved in a creative endeavor or looking for an inspired solution, take the needed time for contemplation without reservation. Be prepared to make a course change or encounter a Catch-22. December 24: Hidden information of some description will be exposed today. December 25: Venus goes into Capricorn, bringing good fortune to your career or public image. Any attention you get publicly is likely to not be viewed favorably by someone close to you, however, possibly someone you know to be an opponent. Watch your temper and reaction as it's likely to be strong, but don't show it in a way that will be damaging to your reputation. December 26: Mercury goes retrograde from now until January 14, making it a time to rethink, re-plan, and reconsider your strategies relative to your career or reputation, status, etc. Making progress during this time isn't likely. Also remember the usual Mercury RX guidelines to not purchase anything electronic or mechanical, regardless of how enticing those post-holiday sales may be. December 27: Someone is likely to step on your ego or throw a hindrance in the way of your personal pursuits in one way or another. Remember that Mars is retrograde so moving forward isn't likely, anyway. December 28: Hidden information pertaining to your finances, involvement with someone in a romantic way, or possibly an outpouring of public favor relative to past activities are possibilities today. Go ahead and let it feed your ego, but don't gorge on it. December 29: Responsibilities to a relationship may conflict with something you believe in or want to accomplish or perhaps someone close to you may get in the way. December 30: Make sure that you're basing all your decisions on facts. December 31: News or information that necessitates a change of course is likely today. Full Moon/eclipse today as well, so look for ways in which these changes tie into the message of the eclipse as noted above. Do you have a NEW Sun Sign? Find out with a Progressed Report!
