Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the New Moon on the 13th occurs in fellow Fixed Sign, Taurus, your 10th House of career, status and public image. If your birthday is within a day or so of August 16 this will have more impact, most likely by bringing a challenge your way in this part of your life. Bear in mind that "status" is a deceptively ambiguous term that affects numerous parts of your life. In the astrological sense it includes anything that is part of your image such as what might appear in the public record or newspaper. For example, when you have your first child or the last one leaves home; when you open or close a business; when you get promoted or fired from your job; when you get married or divorced; receive an award or honor or go to jail. So watch for something to come along in that part of your life, i.e. those activities you pursue outside your home and in the public eye. The planet with the most involvement with this lunation is Saturn who's retrograde in Virgo, your 2nd House of finances, income, possessions, needs and pleasures. Saturn RX insists that you restructure something, which will be in this part of your life as well as in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings, since he started the backstroke in Libra back in January. Gratefully he will go direct the end of this month, at which time you should gradually become aware of what you need to work on. Completion will probably be achieved by the first week of September after which you'll be able to make true progress. Meanwhile, he's giving a lot of hints regarding areas to take a look at. First of all, he's trining the New Moon, a favorable aspect which could somewhat mitigate any challenges he throws your way. This implies that whatever comes along with regard to your career or status will help you to restructure you finances in some way. In addition he's opposing both Jupiter and Uranus who are conjunct in Pisces, your 8th House of transformations, debt, shared resources, inheritances, death, taxes and sex. [NOTE:--Some folks include sex in the 5th House which Leo rules and includes romance and entertainment, which you can probably appreciate.] Jupiter is the ancient ruler of Pisces so is quite comfortable in his former neighborhood. He tends to expand what he touches and also likes to wax philosophical, not a bad thing in the house where you have intense experiences that affect your view on life. His presence will help assure you fully comprehend and internalize these happenings. It might not be that favorable that he's snuggling up with Uranus, however, since this is the planet of the unexpected, rebellion, disruptions, surprises and sudden change, meaning he could promote an exaggerated effect. Thus, this pairing combined with the opposition with Saturn suggests that something may come along that is going to cause you to restructure your finances. You can always hope that you receive a huge inheritance such that your financial situation improves dramatically, but I wouldn't bet the farm on that one. Rather, especially from the viewpoint of a Cappy who's often been accused of "doom and gloom," I would suggest that you not make any large purchases but be as prepared as possible for something that may upset the apple cart of your finances. For example, your car might break down beyond repair or something like that. Hopefully it will be something minor, but I'd hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Saturn is quincunx Neptune in Aquarius, another fellow Fixed Sign, and your polar sign which represents your 7th House of relationships. Neptune is a nice, dreamy planet who helps us escape reality, find enlightenment and inspiration, and enjoy adult beverages. However, he is also responsible for experiences such as that depicted in the movie "The Hangover." In other words, he can bring delusions, deception, illusions and fog reality until it's a total fubar. Neptune has been in this locale for a goodly long time so this is nothing new. If you've had some interesting experiences in your relationships for the last decade plus some, this would be at least part of the reason. Back to this lunation, with Saturn quincunx the King of the Deep, expect to make some adjustments or change course with regard to someone you're close to. Don't panic, this isn't necessarily your significant other. Just as "status" has a fairly broad interpretation for the 10th House, "relationships" covers a bit of territory for the 7th. Folks who reside in this astrological house do include your significant other, but they're certainly not alone. The 7th also comprises close friends and relatives with whom you interact on a regular, perhaps even daily, basis, business partners, competitors, open enemies and business professionals with whom you interact on a one-on-one basis, such as your accountant, financial advisor, hair stylist, attorney and so forth. On the positive side, one of these individuals could inspire you to make a few changes or conversely they could deceive you and thus necessitate the same. Thus, this is not the time to be overly trusting, naive or optimistic without solid evidence to substantiate it. That does it for Saturn, as if that's not enough. Jupiter is square Venus in your 11th House of groups, friends, organizations and goals. This could bring a challenge from someone in that part of your life, most likely a female. Pluto is trining Mercury, also in your 10th House of career and status. Pluto is in Capricorn, your 6th House of work, health and pets, where he is functioning as the zodiacal roto-rooter. You may be encountering all sorts of interesting happenings on the job, such as what you're seeing in the paper these days of hidden corruption and secrets being exposed. Pluto is about ridding ourselves of things we no longer need as well as unearthing things hidden from view. This may simply be an astrological hint to clean out your desk and file cabinets to make room for new things to come. As the planet that rules communications, news and information, Mercury is going to provide something that relates to your career and job or public image and your job. In other words, if you have anything to hide as it relates to your job, you may not like how this turns out. But it could just as easily be information exposed that relates to someone you work with. And that's it, and certainly enough, for that New Moon. The Full Moon on May 27 occurs in fellow Fire Sign, Sagittarius, your 5th House of ego definition, creativity, entertainment, children, romance and speculation. A Full Moon typically brings an ending, culmination or sometimes simply a shift to a new phase. If your birthday is within a day or so of July 30 this will trine your Natal Sun and be more noticeable, hopefully by bringing something favorable your way with regard to something in this part of your life. Saturn's aspects to Neptune remain the same (outer planet aspects tend to last for quite a while) and he is still opposing Jupiter and Uranus, BUT by this time Uranus has slipped into Aries, your 9th House of legal matters, higher learning, other cultures, relocation, religion, politics, and your beliefs and expectations, i.e. philosophy of life. This implies either an event or an "Aha!" moment that effects a considerable change, disruption or surprise, which will also tie back into Saturn's mission to restructure your finances or possessions. By this time the Sun is in Gemini, your 11th House of friends, organizations and goals, bringing emphasis and focus to that part of your life. He is quincunx Pluto, suggesting that hidden information regarding someone you work with is forthcoming and will effect a change of course or adjustment on your part, which is likely to come as quite a surprise, since Uranus is involved, too. News or information related to your status, reputation or career will bring an opportunity for some enlightenment or inspiration, perhaps about love or money, about this same time, so keep your eyes open for opportunities. Remember where there's chaos there's opportunity. As a Fixed Sign you don't like change, but there are times when it's a good thing, especially if you're not 100% satisfied with the status quo. Short-term Aspects May 2: A change of course or adjustment may be required with regard to your finances due to someone close to you. This is definitely a time to deal in cash only with anyone you can't completely trust. May 3: Be alert for interesting information pertaining to something previously hidden, especially at work, though this could also apply to your health. This should be a positive thing, however, unless you have something to hide. May 4: Watch that Leo temper today. You'll be more inclined than usual to get into it with public figures or perhaps your boss. Probably not a real good idea, so keep your cool. I mean it. May 7: A favorable day for interactions with friends, particularly those of the opposite sex. Looking at your financial goals are favored as well. Look for opportunities to arise in one of those areas. May 10: Mercury comes out of retrograde, allowing electronic and mechanical devices to function properly again. Depending on where Mercury is in your birth chart, it may help you to think more clearly as well. May 13: New Moon in Taurus as described above. May 17: A female friend, coworker or group you're associated with may surprise you. Whatever it is may be to your benefit in some way, so pay attention. May 18: A friend, coworker or group may affect your finances or try to tempt you into doing something you shouldn't. If you've been too indulgent for your circumstances, maybe that's part of what Saturn's message is with regard to your finances. If you make the right decision it will reflect favorably on your reputation. May 19: If you've found public favor in some manner, someone close to you may try to exploit that in some way or may embarrass you in some manner. Watch for interesting news or information with regard to your work or health regarding something previously kept out of sight or hidden. A female friend or coworker may provide a few surprises or ask for a loan. May 20: Watch for surprises that have opportunities attached. Venus goes into Cancer today, bringing her blessings to your 12th House of inspiration and enlightenment. May 21: The Sun goes into Gemini today, bringing light and focus on your 11th House of friends, groups, and goals. May 22: Keep your eye on your finances, for good or ill. If you're inclined to over-indulge in anything, be a bit cautious there as well as you're not likely to get away with it without paying the consequences. May 23: If you have any female hidden enemies at work, you're likely to discover it today. May 25: Expect to make an adjustment or change of course at work. May 27: Full Moon in Sagittarius as described above. May 28: Uranus goes into Aries, bringing instability and surprises to your 9th House of beliefs, legal matters, higher learning, relocation, etc. May 30: Saturn goes direct, ending a retrograde period that began in mid-January. Now it's time to get to work restructuring something that relates to your finances, possessions or needs and pleasures with completion likely to occur by September. |
