Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month the Full Moon occurs on March 10th in Virgo, your 12th House of spirituality, inspiration, dreams, institutions, confinement and hidden enemies. Quite the place, the 12th House, which connects us to parts beyond which are the deepest essence of who and what we really are. If you're a logical sort like most Air Signs usually are, this may be a part of your life that hasn't received the attention it should have. The Full Moon usually indicates the culmination of something, and thus implies that something in this area is about to end or shift gears. This could manifest in a variety of ways. For example, if you've had a dream or vision of something you've hung onto for a while, maybe it's time to either let it go or make it happen. Note that it also addresses things like confinement. If you've been locked up in your own figurative box for a while, maybe it's time to come out or break free of a situation that has held you prisoner. Another consideration that relates to this lunation is the fact that it contains some rather interesting supporting aspects that further color its influence.

Saturn and Uranus have been in opposition since October. Saturn is now retrograde, further emphasizing the need to restructure some area of your life, which in the case of Libras lies in your 12th House. Uranus, planet of disruptions, chaos, sudden change, unexpected events, rebellion, and innovation, is in your 6th House of work, health, and pets. Thus, if you've noticed a lot of upsets and disorder with your job, projects, or even your health, you can attribute it to Uranus. With these two in opposition, the implications are that you are due for some changes, possibly big ones. Saturn is trying to tell you that you need to rebuild or restructure something that relates to one of those 12th House elements. If Uranus has been wreaking havoc with your job or even your health, chances are you've been neglecting this other part of your life, perhaps out of necessity. The entire point of this lunation may be that enough is enough and now it's time to get things under control, which will originate deep inside of you.

The reason these two are so connected is that they're not only in the same signs and houses as the Sun and Moon but that their in conjunction with them as well. Saturn is snuggled up with the Moon in Virgo and Uranus is conjunct the Sun in Pisces, thus coloring the main components of the Full Moon with the flavor of their ongoing opposition. Thus, it's time to give it some serious thought and make some changes. As you would expect, the other influences out there this month will provide further help and motivation for you to move in this direction.

Another consideration this month is Venus is retrograde from March 6 - April 16 in your 7th House of relationships. This is going to affect you quite heavily for a couple of reasons. First of all, Venus is your Sign Ruler, making her influence heavier for you than for other signs except for Taurus, whom she also rules. On top of that, Libra rules the zodiacal 7th House of relationships, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the math on that one. Relationships are important to Libras and if they're not going well, you're not going to be, either. When Venus is retrograde she tends to stir up the silt that has been lying forgotten and neglected for a long time, kind of like the minerals building up in the bottom of your water heater. She makes her rounds through the houses in a methodical way and eight years ago was the last time she was retrograde in your 7th House. If you think back to March through April 2001 and recall what was going on at that time you may find a hint toward what she's up to now. It's time to drain and do some maintenance on your relationships as you should with your water heater if you want it to last as long as possible.

Venus is also a party in that Full Moon since she's forming a sextile with Jupiter who's in your 5th House of romance, children, creativity, entertainment, speculation and general self-expression and ego. This is a really good place for Jupiter to be since most Libras tend to be so tied in with others that they often forget themselves. This should provide some nice opportunities to expand that part of your life and it appears that this is going to come about through one or more relationships. Thus, if you're in the market for some romance, the stars and planets are in your favor this month. The opportunity to explore how your upbringing and childhood may have affected this part of your life is out there as well, so it's a favorable time to think about where you are now, what you like or don't like about it, and how it may relate back to how you were raised. It's also a time for looking at your current home environment and doing anything you need to so that it's where it should be as well.

The Full Moon is in your court promoting all these things and the other planets during the month will be further reinforcing these themes. Also note that the New Moon on March 26th is in your 7th House of relationships, implying something new is coming in this area as well. If you're not in the market for romance, this could involve a new one-on-one relationship of another sort that is going to be meaningful in your life, either a new close friend, business associate, or other individual who will make a difference.

Another aspect worth noting is a quincunx between Jupiter and Saturn that occurs between March 14 - 31. A quincunx is like a big, yellow Detour sign that tells you that the route you thought you were taking is closed. Rough road may be ahead either way, but adjustments to your current course are required. As previously noted, Saturn is in your 12th House with all that woo-woo stuff while Jupiter is in your 5th House of romance, children, entertainment and such. Adjustments or detours aren't always bad, often they direct us along a lovely, scenic route, so considering the houses involved here, this may be a rather pleasant excursion. On the other hand, if you're in a relationship that isn't working, maybe it's time to give it some thought as well. Either way, you have a lot to think about.

Short-term and Daily Aspects

March starts out with a bit of news or thoughts that run along these same lines, along with the drive to make a few changes in that area of your life. This is likely to be the result of an event or conversation, or it could simply come up because it's time is due. Around the 5th you need to be careful, however, because something is going to get your attention that could be really good or really deceiving. A major flash of inspiration may come your way or you could take an excursion to Lalaland that is totally outside the realm of reality. Sometimes this is a good thing, but at this time you need to be careful and not lose your head. In other words, if you meet someone that sweeps you off your feet and claims to have hung the Moon, you need to not fall for it without some concrete evidence. This will continue for a few days and around the 8th you may feel inclined to act upon it, particularly if someone or something is appealing to your sense of idealism. Deception is a real possibility, so see this as a flashing yellow light. About the only thing that's safe to do at this time will be something for which you expect absolutely nothing in return, such as some charitable act of service. If you think you'll get anything out of it you're likely to be disappointed.

Right around this time things might get crazy at work and make you realize you need to escape or at least give some time to your fantasies or dreams. The Full Moon occurs a few days later, on the 10th, so all this other stuff will start coming together about that time. On or around the 12th something unexpected or disruptive will come up at work or possibly your health that will further call your attention to areas that require attention. A day or so later, an irritation of some sort will arise in one or more relationships, giving you a few more things to think about. More revelations relative to your need to break away or feed your spiritual side will be in evidence on the 18th, give or take a day, and an opportunity to transfer some of that energy you have at work to your home environment or vice versa is coming on the 19th. More information on the disruptions at work is coming on the 21st and on the 22nd that Jupiter - Saturn quincunx is at its peak, so take note of what's going on there. If you haven't seen that Detour sign yet, you surely should now.

If you haven't already been thinking about how your upbringing has influenced you, it should be right under your nose and hard to miss on the 23rd. If there is anything that should be resolved and hasn't been, you should do so or it may continue to hold you back. If you haven't taken care of business by the 27th, a reminder is coming to give you another nudge in that direction. From then until the end of the month, relationships are going to be occupying your time and thoughts, hopefully in a pleasant way.

March looks like a month that could have a very significant impact on your life. If you've been ignoring what you need to find fulfillment, it's going to get your attention, one way or another. If work has been occupying too much of your time and energy, to say nothing of your thoughts and emotions, maybe it's time to balance things out. That is what Libras are all about, balance and fairness, but often you don't take care of your own needs as you should. Thus, the Universe is trying to get you on track with that regard and is coming at you via your sign ruler, Venus, in your all-important house of relationships to get that straightened out. Pay attention to the signs along the way and it should be a good month.
