This month some long term outer planet influences are out there that are worth talking about. These are the ones that are really in the drivers seat of our lives, i.e. Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, with Jupiter having some punch as well. The faster planets closer to the Sun such as Mercury, Venus, Mars and of course the Sun and Moon, have more influence on the daily happenings and events that play into the backdrop of their slower compadres. So let's jump to the chase.

On November 4, Saturn will be directly opposite Uranus. Due to the geocentric view used for most astrology, retrograde motion will repeat this aspect on February 5 and September 15, 2009. Back in February, June and October 1988 these two formed a conjunction in Sagittarius, your 12th house of dreams, inspiration, spirituality and hidden enemies. If you can remember back that far, think about what significant events occurred in your life during that year and you'll have some idea how the energy of these two gas giants plays out. As a refresher, Saturn is about boundaries, responsibility, authority, obligations, and frequently, delays. Bear in mind that he is also you Sign Ruler, assuming you're a Cappy, so this gives him even more influence over you. Uranus, on the other hand, is the planet of disruptions, rebellion, unexpected events, and sudden change. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that these two energies are pretty-much diametrically opposed, literally in the case of this aspect. The Houses involved for Cappies are your 3rd of thoughts, ideas, neighborhoods and short journeys, which is where Uranus is hanging out, and your 9th of legal matters, higher education, beliefs (including religion and politics), and long-distance travel, where your buddy, Saturn currently resides.

Basically, Uranus has been stirring things up on your mental landscape for quite a while now. If you've had some crazy, unorthodox thoughts or ideas, specifically since March 2003, this is at least part of the reason. This month Saturn will be putting some real dampers on things, or at least trying to. Since he's in your house of beliefs, he's reinforcing a lot of those conservative and ultra-responsible inclinations that Cappies are already known for. Thus, if you've been thinking of pursing anything of an erratic nature, a sanity check is coming your way with all the delicacy of a freight train. This is not to say that he's going to win the argument, but he'll give you plenty of things to consider before making any major decisions. All of this is steering you toward a major turning point in your life of some description. As stated earlier, this influence will be in force for the better part of 2009 as well, so you may not have any clue what it will be for several months, or maybe even longer if you're prone to denial or are incredibly dense. Nonetheless, bear it in mind if things feel a bit unstable.

As if that's not enough to think about, Pluto, the Zodiacal roto-rooter, will enter Capricorn again on November 27. As you recall, he came to visit for a while back in January, but then he put on the brakes and went retrograde to take care of some unfinished business in Sagittarius. This time he's back to stay. And I mean STAY, since he'll be there until September 2024, with a short break before that, again thanks to retrograde motion. This will be especially noticeable as he makes his way over the position of your natal Sun. Any major Pluto transit always changes us in significant ways. If there is anything in your life that you've been ignoring for whatever reason, Pluto will probably not tolerate that any longer. This is not a bad thing, even though there may be times when you'll think that is a flat-out lie. Let me assure you that he has my Natal Sun in his headlights even as I write, so I'm right there with you on this one. Personal transformation is what it's all about.

Back to the roto-rooter analogy, imagine that your sewer lines are blocked due to that beautiful willow tree you planted in your front yard. Repairs will require digging up your beautifully manicured front yard in front of all the neighbors, clearing the pipes by whatever means necessary, perhaps cutting down the willow to preclude a recurrence, and then putting all the dirt back in place, replanting grass, then waiting for it to grow. However, sometime later, all is well, your yard looks great, and you no longer have to worry about that particular problem, provided you eliminated the source of trouble, i.e. the willow. So you have a happy ending, provided you took the proper action and eliminated the root cause (no pun intended).

This, my friend, is what you can expect figuratively to happen as Pluto plods along toward your natal Sun. If your birthday is December 22-23 you're probably already feeling it. Your best bet is to accept this as a mandatory lesson from the Universe that you can't avoid any more than some of those obnoxious core classes you had to take in college. Watch for it, recognize it for what it is, don't take it personally, and let Pluto's transformation energy help you get rid of something that has possibly been holding you back for a long time. That cheery news out of the way, let's move on to what the other planets are up to.

The first few days of the month, Venus will position herself in Sagittarius, right between that Saturn - Uranus opposition. Venus is a benefic planet and will be bringing pleasantries to your dreams and spiritual nature. There couldn't be a nicer mediator to kick off that long-term aspect. This could be some new insight or inspiring moment that prepares you for the dialog to come between the other two planets. She'll be there for a few days, then move on, so between November 2 - 4 especially, be sure to find a few quiet moments to listen for her loving counsel.

Just as that aspect is fading away, some additional help will come your way in processing those long-term aspects. Mercury will sextile Pluto on the 4th, which will help illuminate your thoughts regarding what Pluto has in mind over the next several months and years. This could very well have something to do with your career, either present or future. This is another biggie for Cappies, so again, listen carefully. During that same time, Mars will square Neptune, which will create a situation that involves a conflict with your friends, associates, coworkers or hopes and wishes in some way. Since the planets operate like a symphony, all working together, this will also influence any thoughts and considerations relative to the coming lessons and changes in your life, so listen up.

From November 10 - 11 the Sun, who will be transiting your 11th House of groups, associations, friends, hopes and wishes for most of the month, will be throwing some friendly aspects as well, also directed toward that Uranus-Saturn theme. This implies input from this part of your life, either direct or implied, that will also influence future decisions. Thus, if friends or associates seem to be offering unsolicited advice, don't be offended as they could easily be inspired by the Universe to give you some pertinent information. November 12 - 13 Venus will be kissing Pluto on the cheek, telling him to be nice as he moves toward your Sun in the coming months and years. (Obviously, if you were paying attention earlier when I said that Pluto would be in Capricorn until 2024 that you realized his visit will be a LONG way off if you were born in mid to late January, so you have no cause for worry just yet.)

During about that same time, an opportunity for a change will come along at work. This could very well be initiated by you based on a new idea you've come up with or maybe you'll simply get a glimpse at something you could do that would be more interesting or satisfying that what you do currently. If you've been deluding yourself about anything or anyone, that is likely to come out as well. Possibly you think you'll be able to accomplish financial goals with your current income, which just ain't gonna happen. Or conversely, maybe you'll realize that your big salary isn't worth it because you feel as if you're prostituting yourself doing something you hate simply because you like what it does for your bank account. You know which one applies. The Full Moon on the 13th will mark the culmination of something in your 5th House of children, romance, creativity, of speculation. If you'll forgive the dark, Cappy humor, in today's economy it's not too hard to see how that could play out.

Moving right along, between November 16 - 17, your mind will be running at about 800 GHz. Again, this will relate to the astrological agenda for the next several months. It may be a series of seeming small, unrelated events, but in some way they'll relate to a central theme defined by that outer planet dos-à-dos as well as anything you may have missed regarding unrealistic expectations or ideas, particularly involving your possessions or finances. In other words, this may not exactly be the time to indulge in buying the new Mercedes, even if it is the deal of the century. Right around the 21st, lady luck will be in your favor, particularly regarding anything going on regarding the legal world, higher education, expressing your beliefs, or if you're involved in a long trip somewhere. I'm sure you're tired of hearing this by now, but this, also, will tie into that ongoing theme of change/rebellion versus responsibility and stability.

Inspiration should be strong and your dreams vivid on the 25th. Write it down for future reference. The New Moon on that same day will further strengthen this and usher in something new in that area, which includes your spiritual side. If you've been neglecting it lately, now is the time to give it the attention it deserves. On the 28th look for an opportunity for change, or at least an idea that relates to one. You'll have a whole lot of drive and energy to put it into action on the 29th with an extra shot of luck from Venus, again in the legal or academic venue, that will get even stronger on December 1. Thus, if you have something going on in this area of your life and you can drive its schedule, shoot for the last few days of November and first day of December.

I apologize if I sounded like a broken record this month regarding that Uranus - Saturn opposition, but it will prove very influential and important as the months go on. This month several other planets threw aspects toward the pair, further reinforcing what's going on. This will not happen every month, indicating that this one will be pivotal. Also note that you're coming up very soon on your Solar Return, which typically starts to phase in a few months before your birthday, further reinforcing the themes to expect this next year. Hang on, it looks like a very interesting ride.
