Lunations and Long Term Aspects The lunations this month are both eclipses as well as a bonus eclipse the first part of August, but we'll talk about that one next time. We already have plenty to think about with what's coming in July. The general character of these eclipses, which are part of the family designated as 11 South in the Saros series, for those of you who care, is that of sudden reform. Old methods fail, new systems are required, and if there are any obstacles in the way they could be removed in a drastic way. This is the general character of this eclipse series. The specific aspects trailing along on the Lunar eclipse/Full Moon on July 7 provide its uniqueness, much as each family member is unique, that will be of particular interest to those of you born between January 1 - 11 and especially January 6th since the eclipsing Moon will be conjunct your Natal Sun. Bear in mind the effects of eclipses linger for months so you may not see anything immediately, but as you look back a few months from now you'll recognize that it relates. First of all, Mars, who's in Taurus, your 5th House of children, self-expression, ego, speculation, romance, and creativity is throwing a square to that persistent stellium comprising Jupiter, Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, in Aquarius, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, and pleasures. If you've been watching your assets evaporate lately, it's highly likely that this trio has something to do with it. The economy is doing a number of almost everyone these days, but there's also the possibility that you've been letting it go more-or-less willingly, but it just seems that one thing after another keeps coming up that you convince yourself that you need. Mars is all about energy and he's going to be stirring something up in that 5th House that will further convince you that you need to spend money. Maybe your kids convince you that they'll be warped forever as adults if they don't have polo lessons or your love interest claims that s/he won't believe you really love him/her unless you give them something significantly expensive, or maybe you need a new car and convince yourself that you really deserve a new Mercedes rather than what you can actually afford. Uranus, planet of disruptions, sudden change, and rebellion, is in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, and neighborhood, prodding things along even further. In other words, this cluster of aspects could spell some real trouble for your wallet, so make sure you give any major purchases a serious sanity check before whipping out the checkbook or plastic. Cappies are usually fairly good with their money, but every now and then you can really be indulgent, particularly is it has anything related to status involved. So be aware that this tendency is out there and proceed with caution. You Sign Ruler, Saturn, is forming a Triangle of Potential with the Sun/Moon combo from your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, and foreign travel. Being tied in with the eclipse like it is where the Moon is in your 1st House of personality and the Sun is in your 7th House of relationships, this indicates that something of a serious nature is brewing in one or more of those 9th House areas, but that will provide a positive path for you to deal with a close relationship; remember that "relationships" in the astrological sense are not limited to your significant other, but include close friends and relatives, business partners, and if you're in business for yourself, your cliental. Pluto, as you're undoubtedly already aware, is in Capricorn, and he's quincunx Venus in Gemini, your 6th House of work, health and pets. A quincunx typically indicates a change of course, a Catch-22 or general need for adjustments or justification and this will potentially have a cleansing effect. This is a time to consider anything in this part of your life that could benefit from some major renovation. And that's the story for the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse. The Solar Eclipse/New Moon on July 21 has some interesting possibilities as well. The Sun/Moon combo in Cancer, your 7th House of relationships, is trine Uranus over there in your aforementioned 3rd House of thoughts and ideas, indicating you could have some surprises or outlandish ideas relative to a relationship. If your birthday is within a few days of January 20, this will occur opposite your Natal Sun and probably be quite noticeable; expect a surprise, disruption, or something unexpected, including seeing someone in a different light than you had before. The eclipse is also quincunx Pluto, implying more adjustments or a Catch 22 in a relationship. Venus in your 6th House of work and health is squaring Saturn from your 9th House of beliefs and expectations, which sounds like a possible challenge related to your job, how much you like it or perhaps how much you like your paycheck. Remember that these eclipse-related effects are likely to start this month, but you may not see the entire picture for a few months to come. Short Term Aspects The daily aspects this month seem to consistently hit on that Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron stellium, which as you recall is in your 2nd House of finances and possessions. Some are good, some are somewhat neutral and others are likely to deliver a challenge, but your material possessions and/or assets will definitely be in the spotlight this month. The month starts out with Venus squaring the three of them from July 1 -2. At the time Venus will be transiting Taurus, your 5th House of children, romance, creativity, ego and so forth. This sounds like the urge to buy something ostentatious for the sake of your ego or to impress someone. Mercury is trining the trio at the same time from your House of work but be cautious regarding anything going on there that may be tied into the financial area. Mercury is also squaring Uranus, implying some surprising news, or perhaps a crazy idea and Venus is sextile Uranus, which could further tempt you to do something foolish. On the other hand, it could also mean a pleasant surprise or a burst of creativity. Mercury enters Cancer on July 3, facilitating data collection and communications in your relationships, especially right around July 4th when he will oppose Pluto, providing an excellent time to give some close scrutiny to someone close to you. It's time to clear something up or, another possibility, that it's time to purge something or someone from your life who is not longer significant in your life and is simply absorbing your time without giving anything back in return. Venus going into Gemini, your 6th House of work, health, and pets on July 5, which should generally bring positive things. You should be looked upon favorably at work at this time, so exploit that however you see fit. On July 6th Venus will quincunx Pluto, which was discussed above with regard to the Full Moon/Lunar eclipse, and further reinforces some deep introspection regarding your work or perhaps your health. About this time around July 6th Mars takes his turn throwing a square to that Neptune/Jupiter/Chiron grouping, which was also noted with respect to the Full Moon. Look out for foolish expenditures at this time. Mars will also sextile Uranus, stirring up impulsive behavior, possibly even rebellion, or some other surprise, though a opportunity is hidden there as well. This could involve your children, love interests, or even a creative endeavor. On July 9 the Sun sextiles Saturn, which will give you something to think about regarding how you view your relationships. This could include your expectations of those close to you, which are probably worth considering. Jupiter and Neptune will be in perfect conjunction on July 10, which could create a big bubble of illusion regarding your finances. On July 11 Mars goes into Gemini, your 6th House of work, bringing energy and drive to that part of your life. On the 12th Mercury sextiles Saturn, which will bring more information to bear on your beliefs and relationships, or perhaps bring information your way from someone close to you that will affect your beliefs. On the 14th the Sun and Mercury will be in conjunction, but this could cause your common sense to be overcome by your ego. Mars will quincunx Pluto on the 14th as well, which will give you some deep ruminations relative to your work; also be aware of your health at this time and if you have any symptoms you don't understand, make an appointment with your doctor to have them checked out. July 15 - 16 Mercury will be quincunx the Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron trio which will bring a situation your way that requires an adjustment, perhaps due to new unexpected information from or regarding someone close to you. Mercury goes into Leo, your 8th House of sex, death, other people's resources, and transformation on July 17th. News from one of these areas is likely or perhaps a change of heart or understanding of some sort. From July 17 - 19 the Sun gets into the game with that stellium, throwing another quincunx at them calling for even more adjustments and Catch 22s that necessitate a change of course, perhaps due to previously unknown or hidden information. On July 20 Mercury sextiles Mars, which could bring an opportunity at work or perhaps simply give you something else to think about in that regard. Venus squares Saturn on the 21st, bringing a challenge of some sort regarding work, your beliefs or expectations toward it, or perhaps even a relocation. The Sun goes into Leo on July 22, bringing more emphasis to your 8th House and whatever is going on there. On the 23rd the Sun quincunxes Pluto, as if we don't have enough of that aspect already this month. This will precipitate a transformation of some sort that you should be able to recognize. Venus will trine our trio in Aquarius July 27 - 28 which will hopefully bring some good news from work that relates to your money in some way. Just don't count your chickens before they're hatched. Something unexpected, even if only on your mental plane, is due about that time as well, also related to work or projects you have in-work. On the 31st Venus goes into Cancer, your 7th House, which should bode well for your relationships. About that same time, however, Mercury will oppose that stellium, stirring up some news or transformational thoughts with regard to your finances or possessions. Clearly this is going to be a busy and significant month with a lot of action with your finances and relationships. Be very wary of being more reckless than usual and making decisions based on information that isn't accurate. Wishful thinking is another possibility that will ultimately bite you. Keep a tight grip on your wallet and consider any purchases, especially large ones, very carefully; if you have even the slightest doubt, don't do it now when your judgment is cloudier than usual.
