Key Events: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Leo: February 9, 2009 New Moon in Pisces: February 25, 2009 Saturn: December 31, 2008 - May 16, 2009 |

Long Term Aspects This month the primary long-term aspect to do some thinking about is that Saturn-Uranus opposition. This is all the more interesting because Saturn is retrograde until mid-May. Saturn retrograde tends to encapsulate for subconscious consideration something that relates to a planet with which it is in contact. Saturn is in your 5th House of children, lovers, creativity, entertainment and speculation, so will have some affect on this area simply by transiting that neighborhood of your chart. If your birthday is on or within a few days of May 12, then Saturn will be working with you on a very personal level. While Saturn isn’t particularly friendly in that he is known to teach us patience and various other hard lessons, he’s in a nice, harmonious trine to your Natal Sun, so the end result should turn out to your liking. A classic example of this would be considering starting a family, a new romance, hobby, or other pleasant endeavor. Right around your birthday, when he comes out of retrograde, you’ll know what you need to do and by mid to late August you should have it in place. Also worth considering is the Full Moon in Leo on February 9, which happens to be an annular lunar eclipse. It’s the companion lunar eclipse to the solar eclipse that occurred on January 26. Solar eclipses tend to be more external and relate to events while their lunar counterparts relate to your emotions and how you react, often to the events highlighted by the solar eclipse. The effect of lunar eclipses can last up to six months. Leo is your 4th House of home environment whereas the solar eclipse last month was in Aquarius, your 10th House of career. Thus, something may have happened regarding your career or reputation that is now impacting your home life in some manner. How you respond and process this has the potential for long-term effects on your life. If there’s anything you’ve been sweeping under the rug, eclipses tend to bring them to you attention and give you the opportunity to correct it. Thus, if this is ringing a bell of any tone you need to give it your attention. Note that this effect is similar to what Pluto does in unearthing issues that require our attention. Remember that Pluto is now in your 9th House of beliefs, so those are also under scrutiny at this time, whether you’ve noticed or not. Pluto is in a nice, friendly trine and if your birthday is right around April 22 you should already be feeling it. If your birthday is after that don’t worry, Pluto will be there for a long, long time, and will get to you sooner or later. So there are three things this month that will be working on you at a somewhat subterranean level, especially for those whose birthdays were targeted, i.e. retrograde Saturn, the lunar eclipse, and Pluto. Short-term Aspects The Sun will be in your 10th House of career and reputation until the 18th when he’ll move into Pisces, your 11th House of groups interactions, organizational activities, friends, as well as your hopes and wishes. Last month’s eclipse had the generic influence of possibly changing our associations. If you have done so, you’ll be getting a closer look this month. Your Sign Ruler, Venus, is further enhancing the possibility of favorable interactions, though right around February 5th an annoyance of some description is likely that could relate to a cost or expense or perhaps someone wanting a favor at an inopportune time. Right around this same time Venus will square Pluto, which will challenge your core beliefs in some way, Perhaps you’ll have to put your money where your mouth is, which is often difficult for a Taurus, or something else will cause you to do a close examination of your view of life. Legal or academic matters are another possibility. A few days later on the 7th, news or information will come your way from a friend or associate or possibly related to a group or organization, but make sure that it’s accurate. You could also find out you’ve been deceived in some way. If you’re trying to make headway in your career, you may encounter someone on a power trip who gets in your way, or encounter something that’s been kept under wraps that isn’t particularly enchanting. Around the 8th your career may necessitate some adjustments in your preferred activities as it interferes with something you wanted to do to relax or unwind. For example, something may come up that causes you to work late on a night for which you had big plans. Thus if you’re trying to put something together for that time, build in some flexibility. Same goes for the 9th when something else that may or may not be related to the other problem comes up unexpectedly and disrupts your plans. Remember that the 9th is also the day of the Full Moon/lunar eclipse, so even though it has a long-term effect, you may experience something specific on this day that relates both your career ambitions and home life. More conflicts between your career and enjoying yourself will come along between February 11-12, which will also include something unexpected that relates to your work group, friends, or organizational activities. Another possibility is having your sails trimmed in some way. In other words, if you’re displaying a bit more ego than what’s appropriate, someone or something is going to be pushing you toward an attitude adjustment. A blast of inspiration is available, however, that will help you figure out how to handle it. On February 15, you may discover that the inspiration isn’t everything you’d hoped. It may be a major delusion of some sort that sound great but can’t be implemented. More hidden facts of an annoying nature will surface on the 16th, though the inspiration that comes along to deal with that will be much more helpful and beneficial. In fact, if you play your cards right, it should bring some recognition your way. This will crank up your ambitions on the 17th with more opportunities all around on the 18th, though you’re going to be working hard and still not have time to pursue anything fun or entertaining for a while between planned and unexpected events. Your beliefs about something will come under scrutiny again on the 21st, but these will bring about an opportunity to further yourself or impress those around you in some way. If you have an idea you want to present to further your career or reputation, the 24th will be an excellent day to target when your ability to communicate will be greatly enhanced. The New Moon on the 25th implies new friends or associates coming into your life, which will bring specific opportunities if your birthday is right around April 26, so don’t pass up the chance to get out and mingle. Making a favorable impression on those around you is highly likely so exploit it for all its worth, but remember to keep that ego in line. Humility will get you farther than you realize. On the 27th your competition is going to throw you a curve of some sort, with more information to follow the next day. This is going to require a change of direction again, and will once again tie back to some lessons in humility. You don’t like to change your mind, but unfortunately we can’t always have things the way we’d like and the sooner we learn that lesson the better. Your inclination is going to be toward a full frontal attack, but do so with caution. Know what your opposition is and make sure your flank is covered or you may not like the results. This month is loaded with career issues and challenges that will also affect your home life in some way. These are two extremely important areas of your life, so pay attention to what’s going on, both on a daily and long-term basis to make sure you stay on track for where you want to go.
