Key Events: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Leo: February 9, 2009 New Moon in Pisces: February 25, 2009 Saturn: December 31, 2008 - May 16, 2009 |

Long-term Aspects This month there are a few things going on that will have long-term effects that are worth noting. For one thing, that Saturn – Uranus opposition is still in effect due to the fact that Saturn is retrograde. When Saturn goes retrograde he will take issues related to any planets he contacts in your chart and prepare them for restructuring, much as you would prepare to remodel one particular room in your house by sealing it off from the other living areas. As it turns out, Saturn is in your 4th House of home environment, so there is something going on there that needs restructuring in some manner. This is going to present a variety of challenges, particularly if your birthday is between June 5 – 12. These are most likely to be precipitated by changes in your career, which is going to be seeing quite a bit of action in the coming month or so, so brace yourself. This got started right around New Years and will continue until mid-May, so before your birthday it will become apparent to you what has been going on. Once you get that figured out you’ll be able to take action, which should be implemented by the end of August. If you know something needs to change in this area of your life, now is the time to be giving it serious thought. On February 9 the Full Moon comes with an annular lunar eclipse in Leo, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, short journeys, and neighbors. This is the companion eclipse to the solar eclipse that occurred on January 25 in Aquarius, your 9th House of beliefs, legal matters, academia, long-distance travel and relocation. Eclipses bring something to your attention that you’d do well to address. Since Geminis are already mentally active by nature, this should be stirring up some serious thought regarding something that happened in the last month related to your 9th House. Usually a solar eclipse relates to events and lunar eclipses relate to our emotions and feelings about them, or how we internalize what happened. A solar eclipse can affect our life for as long as a year and a lunar for six months. If we don’t deal with the issues brought to our attention, they will bite us later so it’s good to pay attention and take care of business. Also note that Pluto is now traversing your 8th House of transformations. This is going to be in effect for quite a while and most likely the only ones affected this month will be those whose birthdays are around May 22 – 24. Don’t feel left out if your Gemini birthday is down the road a ways, however, because as sure as God made little green apples he will get to you eventually. These transformations will be inclined to take you down a different path than you originally planned. Fortunately, as a mutable sign, this won’t be as difficult for you to handle as it would be for others. Short-term Aspects This month, as is usually the case, the daily aspects from the inner planets are going to supplement those long-term effects. A large part of the action is going to be regarding your core beliefs and/or other 9th House issues as well as career and transformational experiences. The first week or so of the month you’re going to be giving some deep thought to your career options. If there is anything about your current path that isn’t working out, either financially or in job satisfaction, you’ll do well to think about what you can do about it. With a bunch of planets in your 9th House numerous career-related issues will arise. Should you go back to school and train for a second career? Should you relocate to another town or even another country? Is the economy having a deleterious affect on your chances for advancement or even continued employment? Are you the same person you were when you first chose this path? Or has your life up until now shifted your sights in a different direction? Last month while Mercury, your sign ruler was retrograde in your 8th House of transformations you should have been doing some serious thinking about your life’s direction and whether your current plans are still valid. Now that Mercury is direct, it’s time to start moving toward any new horizons you identified at that time. Just make sure they’re realistic, however, and that any leads you’re pursuing aren’t delusions. Especially around the 7th, you may experience a confrontation or challenge to your core beliefs or any other goals you may have that relate to your 9th House, which includes higher education, legal matters, relocation and so forth as noted earlier. Before defending them blindly, take in any information coming your way and reevaluate the rationale behind your current philosophy of life. The world is changing and maybe your world view needs to change as well. These beliefs are also going to reflect on your home life and your attitude toward that. Remember that Saturn is retrograde over there and working on something you need to address. Maybe some adjustments or workarounds are appropriate if your priorities haven’t been properly placed. Expect the unexpected with regard to your career between the 9th and the 12th. Whatever disruption or disturbance comes along, use it as a springboard for these deeper thoughts regarding whether you’re in the right place at the right time. That Full Moon lunar eclipse will be happening and stimulating your thoughts and mental activity about this same time. It will have an emotional flavor, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t valid. If your career is going fine but your home life isn’t, take a hard look at why. Are your priorities properly aligned? Are any problems beyond your control or are you a bigger player in them than you care to admit? Again, examine your core beliefs and philosophy of life for clues. The Sun and Neptune get together on the 12th which could provide a major revelation of some sort. Listen carefully, but give it the acid test of reality as well, since Neptune can be too idealistic for the real world. A friend or associate may provide some inspiration around the 15th, but again, make sure its viable. More information or news related to your beliefs about something will encounter an annoying reality check around the 16th, though an opportunity is right around the corner as well, probably the result of one of your connections. On the 17th something significant will happen that will be hard to miss. If you’re working on a move, legal action, going back to school or that attitude adjustment, something should happen that will be a strong indication of what you should do, perhaps of necessity. Against, your connections are likely to delivery an opportunity of some sort your way, so keep your antennae deployed accordingly, while still keeping one eye on what’s going on at home. Unexpected news on the career front is expected on the 20th and the next day will bring another opportunity to evaluate your career goals and how they fit into your long-term plans for your life in general. Big news of some description will come on the 24th that will again relate to that big decisions you’re ruminating upon. The New Moon on the 25th is in your 10th House of career so expect a new beginning of some sort. Good news of a thought-provoking nature is coming from your friends or coworkers as well. An annoyance of some description that involves finding out something significant is out there on the 27th, perhaps a problem of some sort because of overlooking a detail. On the 28th a work-around related to home will be required, but should have good long-term results. This will be a busy month with a lot of mental activity. Long-term plans, your outlook on life, career ambitions and homelife are all vying for attention, which will ultimately evoke some major changes in you.
