Long Term Aspects

There are at lest three long-term aspects worth mentioning this month.  These are the major guideposts of our lives which are contributed to by daily events.  Each day may not seem that different or significant, but it's another part of the greater scheme of things.  If you wonder what that happens to be, these long-term aspects are the key.

This month the key aspect is an opposition between your Sign Ruler, Saturn, and Uranus.  As you probably intuitively know as a Cappy, Saturn is solemn, responsible, restrictive, demands structure, and keep us on track with our obligations.  If you're a typical Cappy with an overdeveloped sense of responsibility, then you can thank (or curse) Saturn accordingly.  Uranus is very much Saturn's antithesis.  He's all about sudden change, disruptions, rebellion, freedom, and the unexpected.  There is no question with these two which one will be rooting for what course of action.  Their house placement deepens the plot in an interesting way.  Saturn is in Virgo, your 9th House of legal matters, long distance travel, relocation, academia, and core beliefs which also include religion and politics.  Saturn would needless to say be reasonably comfortable in this particular neighborhood.  Uranus is in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, and short journeys.  So here we have Uranus messing with your thoughts while Saturn is over there reminding you of your sense of responsibility and keeping your core beliefs in a conservative corral.  This bouncing back and forth is going to be nerve-wracking at times as your head tells you one thing but reality tells you another.  This will be in effect until mid-March, though it will come back for an encore later in the September timeframe when Saturn is direct and Uranus is retrograde.

This entire scenario gets even more interesting due to the fact that Saturn is currently retrograde.  While Saturn is RX he bundles something up and lets it ferment away in your unconscious, though there are often hints or indications what it might be if you give it some deep thought.  What he bundles up is frequently a planet on your natal chart, though of course he's bundling up Uranus right now for everyone.  Since I have no way of knowing where everyone's natal planets are and it would take volumes to write this if I did, we'll stick to the generic version.  Saturn is also about delays and you can bet that will be the case in the 9th House.  It already has enough bureaucratic crap, so all it needs is Saturn RX to grind to a screeching halt.  I have a good idea what this is all about because I'm trying to sell my house and here I am with Saturn RX in my house of contracts.  Good luck with that, eh?  Anyway, he'll be RX until May 16, so various things will be cooking away until that time when you peek inside the cover and find out what it is.  From that point on you can start to deal with it and by the time Saturn overtakes where he originally went retrograde toward the end of August, you should have everything all settled plus another dollop of wisdom to store away for future use.  It may not be fun but it should prove to be useful over time.

Another long-term astrological event to keep an eye on is that Full Moon/lunar eclipse on February 9.  This will occur in Leo, your 8th House of sex, death, transformations, and other people's resources.  Lunar eclipses can remain in effect for as long as six months.  Since transformations can occur in so many areas, this is a target-rich environment, but something is bound to occur in the coming months that will affect you in a significant and lasting way.  If your birthday is within a week one way or the other of January 12th this will have even more influence and will eventually necessitate some adjustments or a change of course of some sort.  This eclipse is the companion to the solar eclipse that occurred on January 26 in Aquarius, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, pleasures, and your physical body.  A solar eclipse, whose effect can last for as long as a year, generally brings about events whereas the lunar eclipse follows up with our emotional reaction and synthesizing of what happened.  This particular eclipse on the generic level is expected to deepen our relationships and bring us into contact with new groups and associations which will have a positive effect.  Bear that in mind as you look around at what's happening in your life.

Last and not least is good ol' Pluto which I've already talked about ad nauseam.  He's settling into Capricorn these days and if your birthday is between December 23 - 25, you're probably feeling the affects as he moves in on your Natal Sun.  We're in this together, folks, since my birthday is the 25th, so I guess we'll see what happens together.  Between that eclipse in our 8th House and Pluto in our neighborhood, I imagine we're all in for some interesting times ahead.

Short Term Aspects

On February 3rd Venus goes into Aries, our 4th House of home environment.  This should be a pleasant visit so there should be no need to fear.  This should mean there are good times ahead with our family and close friends that we'll enjoy, which is certainly pleasant news considering all that other crap that's out there for us right now.  On the 4th, Mars goes into Aquarius, our 2nd House of possessions and so forth.  There's no telling how this will come out since Mars can mean aggression coming toward us or us dishing it out.  At any rate it means a lot of energy, so be aware.  Watch how you drive, or more specifically drive defensively, and be careful because things breaking is common.  Some also advise being careful around fires and knives, so use your best judgment, though I'm sure most Cappies are cautious around those things, anyway.  Around the 5th you may want to indulge in something that strikes your fancy for your home but for whatever reason it turns into an irritation of some sort.

Don't believe everything you see, hear or read on the 7th, particularly if it involves your finances or a promise from some sort of salesman.  Ask for it in writing and see how they react.  Something you want to pursue on or around the 8th, such as a long trip, going back to school, or a legal matter, may require some adjustments to your approach or more money than you'd planned with more issues coming your way on the 11th.  On the 9th something will come up in your neighborhood that will cost you money or some other type of hassle.  The 9th is also the day of that Full Moon eclipse.  The truth of the matter is that there's a whole clutch of planets in your 2nd House of finances and possessions, so there will be some emphasis on such things this month.

On the 12th be sure to keep a close eye on your possessions.  Make sure you house is properly locked, your car secured with the alarm set, and your wallet or other valuables in a safe place.  Being deceived is another negative possibility that day but on the positive side, inspiration is out there for the taking.  You may also want to simply relax that day and escape through fantasy, such as a good book or movie.  A few days later on the 15th you may do a lot of daydreaming about home improvements that simply aren't in the budget.  The next day some hidden flaw might not be hidden anymore.  A lucky windfall or other opportunity is out there on the 16th, but something may just as quickly come along that requires some extra cash.  The 18th looks like a good day for communicating with members of the opposite sex or shopping for that item you still think you want for your home.  Your sense of responsibility or another obligation may make the decision for you, like it or not.

Unexpected news is on the way on the 20th.  Deep insights and discovering information you weren't previously aware of are available on the 21st, which you can work to your advantage is some way.  Big news on the 24th as well.  The New Moon on the 25th could bring some new ideas your way that have profit potential, so pay attention.  Money saving ideas for around home or the opportunity for a bargain that will make you smile is out there as well, though another hidden flaw may get you before the month ends, necessitating another change of plan.

Clearly there's a lot of issues related to your finances and possessions this month, some good, some annoying.  Keep your eyes open and you should be able to avoid any serious mistakes.  If there's one thing that Pluto is good for in your 1st House it's increasing your ability to sniff out a scheme or problem so keep your antennae deployed.
