Lunations and Long-term Aspects

If your birthday lies between January 21 - 25, you will be undergoing some major life changes this month as the North Node of the Moon contacts your Natal Sun. This will be a time when you'll be reassessing what direction you're headed and receive various indicators, albeit sign posts along the way, that will help you find where that happens to be. This is particularly apropos if you're looking for a change; if you life is on target and progressing smoothly you will feel good about where you are and that you're making progress. Otherwise, keep your eyes, ears and heart open to what it might be.

The Full Moon on the 8th in Scorpio is in your 10th House of career and reputation. This will bring a culmination of some description in this part of your life. If your birthday is right around February 7, give or take a few days, this is going to bring a challenge or two in its wake. As always the lunations set the theme for the rest of the month and there are some interesting influences associated with this one. First of all, there's a very tight stellium between Jupiter, Neptune, and the asteroid, Chiron, in your sign this month. Since all of these are fairly slow movers, it will be in effect for most of the month. In your 1st House all Aquarians will feel it to some degree, but If your birthday falls between February 13 - 19 it will have an even more significant impact.

This astrological trio is an interesting combination. Jupiter tends to be lucky and also expands what he touches, sometimes a bit too much. Thus, in your 1st House of personality he could make you over-confident. Neptune, planet of inspiration, dreams, and delusions, can bring wonderful visions our way, but they can also be illusions, which combined with Jupiter, could easily be no more than hot air and thus blow up in your face. The real indication that this could happen is the fact Chiron is nestled in there. Known as the Wounded Healer, Chiron in your horoscope indicates those areas of your life where you may encounter emotional or physical pain. Thus, if you get carried away on a wave of pipe dreams the chances are good that they'll come back and bite you in some way. Uranus, planet or disruptions, the unexpected, and surprises, is throwing the three of them an itchy semi-sextile as well, which ties all that into something annoying the comes up out of the blue relative to your finances or possessions. Bear in mind that this may come at you from someone or something else and may not be the result of your own direction actions. Either way, it's out there so deploy your radar and turn on that Air Sign logic for all its worth.

Venus and Mars are conjoined in Aries for the first week of the month and during that same time Venus will also be squaring Pluto. This is a pretty clear indication of relationship issues, particularly if there are any unresolved issues lurking around out there from your past. This is likely to be taking place on the mental plane, however, more so than a direct confrontation. Perhaps you'll be giving a lot of thought and consideration to one or more past relationships that didn't turn out too well. If this is the case, be sure to use this energy to decipher the lesson hidden therein and how you can apply it now to avoid similar circumstances in the future.

Saturn has been retrograde in Virgo, your 8th House of transformations, sex, death & regeneration and other people's money since New Years Eve, but he goes direct on May 16th. At that time you should be able to figure out something that has occurred over that period of time that has changed your way of thinking in a significant way, such that you need to restructure a few things. A lesson is involved somehow, probably a difficult one, that you need to assimilate so you can move on. Of course Murphy's Law rules the planets as much as Kepler's Laws of motion, meaning before Saturn goes direct, i.e. on May 6th, Mercury goes into one of his annoying retrograde periods which will last until the end of the month. This starts out in Gemini, your 5th House of romance, children, creativity, ego and speculation, then backs into Taurus, your 4th House of Home Environment, on the 14th.

You know the drill, that Mercury RX wreaks havoc with electronic and mechanical devices of all descriptions as well of communications in all forms whether verbal, email, or even your own thoughts, which will be less organized than usual. This does have a positive application, however. Moving forward is going to be an exercise in futility, but rethinking, re-planning, or revising is favored. With your 5th and 4th Houses involved, this could involve everything from a remodeling project to dealing with your children. Whatever it happens to be, don't expect to make any progress this month because if you do you're bound to be frustrated.

The New Moon on 24th occurs in Gemini, your 5th House of romance, children, creativity, and so forth, as noted earlier. If your birthday is within a few days of January 23, this should have a very fortuitous effect as it will be in a nice, easy trine with your Natal Sun. Remember that a New Moon usually heralds something new coming into your life, perhaps even a new creative project. This could present a Catch-22 situation of some description, however, regarding one of your group associations. It looks like there could be some unfinished business or a situation that was never properly resolved that needs to be tended to before moving forward. That stellium in your 1st House that could be messing with your mind is still in effect, so watch out for that, too. Retrograde Mercury is throwing a square in that direction which will certainly mess things up even more. Clarity of thought is likely to be about as likely then as it would be after consuming a pitcher of margaritas unassisted, so don't make any important decisions, especially if they involve a relationship. Repeat, you are not seeing things clearly and are not likely to be happy with the result when the fog clears. Remember that Chiron is hanging out there as well and will surely see to it that it bites you sooner or later.

Short-term Aspects

From May 1 - 9 Venus is squaring Pluto. With Venus in close proximity to Mars during this time, this is likely to involve a relationship that Pluto wants you to exhume and learn from. Pluto is in your 12th House, which is a rather nebulous place to be. This is the house of enlightenment, transcendence, the collective consciousness, hidden enemies, inspiration, dreams, and spirituality. Large animals are in there, too, just to make it even more interesting. So Pluto is doing his roto-rooter thing in that neighborhood that is going to relate back to your thoughts on either one or more specific relationships or perhaps only on how you relate to those of the opposite sex. When Mercury goes RX on the 6th this will actually assist you in looking back and rethinking things, so put it to good use. Right around this same time the Sun will trine Saturn, which will bring some transformation energy to your home environment that will have a favorable effect. Saturn isn't exactly known for being lucky or anything like that, but it's likely that you'll discover something that changes you in some way and has a positive effect on your home life.

The Full Moon occurs on the 8th, then a few days later on the 11th you'll want to move forward with an idea only to find that you need to change your course of action. On the 16th the Sun will square that Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron trio, which is going to bring all those possibly mixed-up thoughts to bear on something related to your home. Remember not to make any important decisions right now. An unexpected financial issue or something related to your possessions will arise about this same time, but it should have an opportunity attached somewhere, so look for the silver lining if it isn't obvious.

The Sun and Mercury RX will be in conjunction in your 4th House of home environment on the 18th, which will call attention to something there that needs to be redone. Remember that moving forward during this time isn't very likely. From May 16 - 25 Mercury RX will square that Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron trio, which is definitely not going to be conducive to lucid thought, so don't mistake any ideas for reality. Any financial plans, particularly if they involve borrowing money, are going to require a change of direction at this time as well.

On May 21 the Sun goes into Gemini, bringing light and emphasis to your 5th House of creativity, children and such. Something unexpected at home is going to create a financial opportunity about that same time, but just remember to give it a strong acid test for reality before throwing any money in that direction. Around the 23rd you'll be thinking about those things of a creative nature that you should pursue to enrich your life. We need to balance all the needs in our life, and if you've been neglecting the spiritual side, it's time to bump that up the priority list. The New Moon is on the 24th, bringing those influences your way, then on the 26th Mars will sextile that now-famous stellium, which is going to really make you want to take action. However, making progress isn't likely, other than for doing charitable acts of some description that you do simply to be nice and with no ulterior motive. If you're entirely selfless in your activities, the results will be favorable but this will not be the case if you have selfish motives. On May 30 Mercury goes direct, so you can indulge in a sigh of relief at that time and get ready for the month to come.

May looks like it's going to be a rather weird month. There will be a lot of mental action, but it's not likely to be firmly based in reality, so make sure you have both feet on the ground before taking it seriously. Saturn comes out of retrograde, which will help you figure out some of the changes you need to make, or if you've been trying to borrow money, you might start seeing the path a little clearer. With Mercury retrograde by then, maybe you need to rethink your original plan and make a few changes to find success. Don't expect to make a lot of progress or you'll find yourself frustrated, but getting your ducks in a row for future action is highly likely.
