Long Term Aspects

This month there are three long-term aspects to keep an eye on that will be quietly running in the background like elevator music. You won't always notice that it's there unless you listen for it and if you do you may realize that it's your favorite song. The first one to be aware of is that opposition between Saturn and Uranus, which is in force until mid-March. This will be working with you in a very personal way since Saturn is in Virgo, your 1st House of personality, and Uranus is in your 7th House of relationships. These two planets and their influences are about as different as night and day with Saturn all about structure and responsibility and Uranus all about rebellion and change.

Plugging this into their respective house placements you can see that you may be wanted to assume more responsibility or institute more structure in your life while those close to you are stirring things up to beat the band. On top of all that, Saturn is retrograde, which makes it even more interesting. When Saturn is retrograde he packages something up and delivers it to you subconscious to ruminate on for a while, in this case until right around May 16. At that point, you open it up to see what's inside, have a big "Aha!" moment and then set about taking care of business, which should be completed by the end of August. At least that opposition with Uranus will be gone by the middle of next month. Remember that relationships in the astrological context include close friends and relatives, business partners and your significant other; if you're in business for yourself it also includes your clients.

Another interesting influence out there is that Full Moon/lunar eclipse coming on February 9. Since eclipses come in pairs, this is the companion to the solar eclipse that occurred on January 26. The solar eclipse in January was in your 6th House of work, health and pets and should have brought out some interesting issues there. Solar eclipses, which tend to highlight events, can be in effect for as long as a year, so whatever came out of the woodwork at that time may be around for that long. The lunar eclipse this month is in Leo, your 12th House of dreams, inspiration, spirituality and hidden enemies. These tend to affect us at the emotional level with the affect in force for as long as six months. Often this comprises your reaction to whatever the solar version brought to your attention. Putting this together indicates that something happened at work or regarding your health that has gotten your attention at a different level that simply your logical mind. It may have also brought it to your attention that not everyone who claims to be your friends actually is, or if your health is involved, that just because you may feel healthy doesn't necessarily mean that you are.

Last but not least we have Pluto, who's settling down for the long-haul in Capricorn, your 5th House of creativity, children, romance, ego, entertainment and speculation. He's going to be there for a long time so he will probably be working with all of those areas plus some at one time or another. Be particularly aware that, if needed, he may be trimming your ego a bit. The good news is that sign-wise he's in a nice, harmonious trine to Virgo, indicating it will be much friendlier than if it were a square or opposition. You'll be taking a deep look at some of these items, getting rid of things that are no longer useful and acquiring a few new things along the way. Since this house comprises speculation, if you're into that at all Pluto may become your best friend as he helps you discern hidden facts, ask the right questions, and guide your instincts in a very practical way.

Short Term Aspects

So, moving right along, let's see what's up on a daily basis. On February 3rd, Venus goes into Aries, your 8th House of sex, death, transformation and other people's resources. Venus is very likely to bring a rather pleasant influence to this area of your life, even though the end result may require some adjustments or changes regarding some of your existing plans. Mars enters Aquarius on the 4th, which may well stir a few more things up at work or with your health. These are going to be predominant issues this month between the eclipse and the fact that it's a bit crowded over there, planet-wise, between Jupiter and Neptune, who are there all month, plus transits from Mercury and Mars, plus the New Moon on the 25th. This is Virgo's natural domain as it rules the zodiacal 6th House, so regardless of what comes along you should feel reasonably comfortable dealing with it. On the 5th something may come your way in this area that gets your attention in an annoying way because it disrupts something you thought you had resolved. How you handle it will determine whether or not it's ultimately beneficial. If you're romantically involved with someone, this could bring a significant milestone in your relationship.

Keep your antennae deployed on the 7th when someone may appeal to your ego in order to get you to do them a favor such as doing their work for them. When you find out what's going on don't overreact or lose your temper, though this will be your first impulse. Find some way to cool off that is more politically correct so you don't burn any bridges with your rantings, or at the least be cautious whom you complain to. This could be but the beginning of bigger things that will cause more adjustments on your part. Don't be surprised if someone close to you acts in an unexpected way at this time, particularly since this will all be happening around the 9th, the day of the Full Moon/lunar eclipse. This will provide some very interesting insights. The generic character of this eclipse will be to shift your group associations around a bit and could also serve to deepen one or more relationships. These will be positive shifts for which you should trust your instincts.

A few days later on the 11th someone or something at work is going to stir things up again, which will give you even more to think about. If there's anyone at work who gets on your last nerve or you don't trust, they will probably be just loaded with surprises and in true form at this time. On the 12th your sense of idealism will be greatly stimulated, but remember that the world isn't perfect, no matter how much you'd like it to be. If your health is the predominant issue for you, today may be the day when you finally figure out what's wrong. Whichever it is, it will represent another big "Aha!", whether or not you like what comes out. Whatever is going on at work is probably trimming your ego these days. particularly if you've fallen for any stories that turned out to be false. Remember that where there's chaos there's opportunity, and there's one out there for you on the 16th. This could be a new job, new project, or other expansion of your duties that could even result in a bonus or raise, especially if you put lots of energy behind it. Getting along with the opposite sex should go well on the 18th and relationships should become important generally as the Sun goes into Pisces, your 7th House of relationships. You're going to have to make a few more concessions, however, perhaps in not being too vocal and expressing an unpopular opinion. If you indulge yourself regardless, you may find yourself having an unexpected conversation with someone the next day.

The 21st is another good day for relationships where conversations are likely to reveal things at a deeper level than usual. Big news will be coming regarding your job on the 24th, just in time for that New Moon on the 25th, which will bring something new regarding your relationships. If anyone criticizes you on the 27th, you're likely to come back with a show of power. Just be able to back it up if you do. Make sure you cool off for at least a day and gather the facts or you might simply confirm the naysayer's words. There's no telling how everything will come out but you're going to encounter more than one situation where you'll need to switch to an alternate plan.

Needless to say, work is going to be crazy this month. There are lots of things going on, some friendly, some not, some to advantage and some not. Be on your best behavior, work as hard as you usually do, and keep your eyes open for opportunities where you can step in with your eye for detail and strong work ethic and come out on top when all is said and done.
