Long-term Aspects There are three significant long-term influences out there this month of which you should be aware. By understanding the "big picture" into which they fit, the daily occurrences in your life will make a lot more sense, enabling you to more easily make the right choices. The Universe wants you to progress in this lifetime and will thus guide and tutor you in such a way that you keep moving in the right direction. Some lessons are more difficult than others and if you fail to learn the first time around, you can bet you'll be repeating it sometime in the future. Conversely, those things that you've already figured out may slide right by, unnoticed, as if you've been immunized. The first thing to put into the back of your mind is that Pluto has now settled into Capricorn for such a long visit that it will seem nearly permanent. In other words, he's going to be there until November 2024, which is a lot longer than you'd want your brother-in-law to visit who just can't seem to hold a job. Pluto is in your 4th House of home environment, which is bound to get interesting as he prods you to clean out that accumulated junk you have in the basement, both literally and figuratively. He's all about death and rebirth, and while he often gets a bad rap, which I can't honestly say is undeserved, ultimately he's about healing. However, just like when you have surgery to correct a medical problem, the process can be painful and seem to get worse before it gets better. Nonetheless, this is required before true healing can take place as opposed to being scabbed over or lurking beneath the surface, draining your energy and making you wonder what's wrong. Those of you who are going to be feeling this the strongest now are those born within a day or two one way or the other of September 24 as Pluto squares your Natal Sun. If you were born after that, your day is coming. Pluto moves roughly one degree per month, or one calendar day as far as a natal chart is concerned. This is not steady movement, either, as he goes retrograde on a regular basis, meaning he'll hit the same degree multiple times over the course of several month. One thing you might want to consider with Pluto in the 4th House is a home warranty since Pluto's antics can physically affect your home. No, I am not making this up. As someone who's had Pluto in the 4th House for a while now, I can give you a plethora of example of breakdowns and repairs that had Pluto written all over them. Some of my family members and clients have had similar experiences. Plumbing, sewer, and electrical problems are particularly common; every hidden flaw is going to manifest sooner or later. Cockroach infestations are likewise common and even such vermin as scorpions; you can't get much more Plutonian than that. Any family secrets will also be brought to the surface at this time along with anything else that's been swept under the rug. The more you clean up voluntarily, the better things will go, kind of like when you were a teenager and your mother told you to clean your room. If you made an attempt, no matter how lame, it still went better for you than if you'd done nothing. Some Pluto transits are quite unpleasant and nine times out of ten that is the problem when people ask me why everything is going wrong in their lives. My intent is not to scare you, but to give you a heads-up that if it feels as if you woke up to a backhoe digging around your house uninvited, Pluto is likely the culprit. So, on that cheery note, let's move on to the next aspect under consideration. The Full Moon on February 9th is a Lunar Eclipse that will occur in Leo, your 11th House of friends, groups, coworkers, associations, organizations and hopes and wishes. The is the companion to the Solar Eclipse that occurred on January 26 in Aquarius, your 5th House of creativity, children, romance, entertainment, speculation and ego expression. Eclipses come as duets and sometimes even trios. The solar component, which can last as long as a year, frequently triggers events related to the house in which it falls and the lunar component, which can last up to six months, carries the associated emotions. If the lunar portion occurs first, then it's usually the emotional precursor to the action taken when the solar eclipse comes along a few weeks later. Eclipses have personalities of their own and this one is expected to be of gentle character. Its influence is predicted to be to shift our group associations, either through thoughts or travel, and could also precipitate increased commitment in a relationship. With the Lunar Eclipse falling in your 11th House of groups, this increases the likelihood that it will manifest as predicted for Libras, particularly since you also have a propensity for relationships. How strongly an eclipse is felt will have a lot to do with what planets or angles it contacts on your chart. By Sign both the solar and lunar are in favorable aspect. The solar eclipse last month will have the strongest influence on those of you born within a few days either way of September 29 and the lunar will affect those born within a few days either way of October 14. Again, the influence is going to be of a positive nature, so look for someone or something good to come into your life. Last but not least is the opposition between Saturn and Uranus. Saturn is all about structure, responsibility, obligation, authority, boundaries, and delays and he's in your 12th House of spirituality, dreams, inspiration, and hidden enemies. Uranus is all about sudden change, rebellion, unexpected events, and freedom, and he's hunkered down in Pisces, your 6th House of work, health and pets. This aspect is about breaking free of something and expanding your horizons in some manner. If your inability to visualize something is keeping you from it, Uranus is nudging you in that direction. In your 6th House this can mean disruptions or surprises or an extremely hectic pace on the job or disturbances related to your health. Since what we are inside at a spiritual level will manifest in not only our life but our body, you can see how these two polar houses are connected. This tug-o-war will be in effect until mid-March. The plot thickens with the fact that Saturn is currently retrograde, internalizing the energy by bundling something up with regard to your spiritual quest that needs restructuring. This may be entirely off your radar until May 16, when Saturn returns to direct motion, but once you realize what it is and what you need to do, provided you jump on it and "git 'r' dun" you should have it all taken care of by mid to late August. This incubation period will effect a significant change in your spiritual horizons. If you've been neglecting this part of your life or it's getting stale, something will get your attention to motivate a change. These will be the backdrop for the various events this month. Use this information to more fully understand how they'll take you where the Universe deems you need to go. Short-term and Daily Aspects The Sun spends most of the month in Aquarius, your 5th House of creativity, children, romance, entertainment, speculation and ego expression, bringing a lot of attention to this part of your life. A host of planets are hanging out there throughout the month bringing further stimulation as they interact with the others. Jupiter is there, who brings us luck and expands what he touches and so in dreamy Neptune, who can bring us great inspiration. As the month progresses, Mars will enter Aquarius as well on the 4th and Mercury on the 14th, bringing the initiative to get started with something new and the ability to communicate your ideas, either through a medium of some sort of to others. Furthermore, this is a pleasant House and a nice place to be. Librans love beauty in all its forms and all this energy in this house will give you a lot to work with toward creating your own. There is also a possibility for romance with this house and knowing how Librans love relationships, this could be another interesting element to look forward to this month. Your Sign Ruler, Venus, goes into your polar sign, Aries, on February 3rd. This is your house of relationships so this also bodes well for something of a romantic nature to come your way, either the renewal of an existing relationship or the start of a new one. Remember that eclipse, as well; perhaps a friend will make the transition to a lover, starting the first week of the month. This will start out with some degree of tension, however, as relationship transitions often do. Moving forward can be scary, especially if you have any old baggage lurking around that increases your fear of getting involved, and no doubt Pluto will be doing his level best to stir things up in that area. Right around the 7th someone in your family may create an annoyance by telling you untrue things about this person or even jumping the gun and fantasizing its outcome before it even gets off the ground. More nuisance thoughts will follow that will be related to past relationship failures and further keep you from moving forward. On the 8th you may finally begin to envision the potential for something to happen as well as the course changes necessary to make it happen. Bear in mind that this could be a creative work of some sort or have something to do with your children if a romance is simply out of the question, but at any rate you'll be striving for something pleasant. Something unexpected will come along on the 9th that will cause another nuisance, such as having to work late or getting a cold that keeps you from proceeding as planned. Remember that the Lunar Eclipse is also on the 9th, and will be throwing that energy toward your 11th House of groups, friends, coworkers, and so forth. There's a huge energy exchange between Mars and Saturn on the 11th. This could well be that first flash of inspiration that triggers emotional and spiritual processing of whatever it is you want to pursue that is going to require breaking through some previously established boundaries. Expect more disruptions on the 12th, again related to either work or your health. After all, it IS the flu season. Nonetheless, that day has something interesting in store as the Sun and Neptune conjoin. This could produce a number of interesting effects from a flash of major inspiration to a complete dissolution of your ego. On the 14th Mercury enters Aquarius, bringing the ability to communicate at what might be just the right time. Note that this is Valentine's Day, so don't let this opportunity go to waste! It's important that you don't allow your expectations to get out of line regardless of whether we're talking about a creative work or a romance. It's fun to romanticize something, but we need to not put too much stock in it or we risk being disappointed later. Not meeting expectations is probably one of the most common reasons for failed relationships and more often than not they've never been expressed clearly enough to give the other person the chance of meeting them. Your idea of the perfect princess or knight in shining armor is yours and yours alone and may not be even remotely matched to those of your partner. Libras often won't defend their interests, either, in their efforts to be fair, setting you up in an even more precarious position. On the 16th more ideas related to past baggage or failures will bring more nuisance thoughts your way. Fortunately, these will be short-lived as a big opportunity comes along to pursue this new relationship with the courage to take a big step further presenting itself on the 17th. The Sun goes into Pisces on the 18th, taking his illumination to your work and health but that same day there are some excellent vibes out there between members of the opposite sex. Once more a lot of energy will be exchanged between what you think of what's happening in your life versus any boundaries in place that could hold you back. The 20th you can expect another irritation to come your way unexpectedly, again of a work or health nature, but the following day there's a good chance you'll figure out what the problem is so you can rectify it once and for all. Massive communications will be exchanged on the 24th and don't forget that New Moon on the 25th, that will bring something new related to work, though it could also be something as unlikely as a new pet. More irritations or friction regarding your confidence in moving forward will surface the last few days of the month, again as you think about past relationship failures, either your own of those close to you. If this is the budding of your first serious relationship and your parents or siblings haven't had much success in this area, it's only natural that doubts will come your way. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained, so it's in your best interest to chart a new course, one where you feel safe enough to take a risk, and see where you come out. This month has romance and creativity written all over it. My apologies to any of you that this simply doesn't fit, but I would encourage those of you in that category to throw some serious energy toward rejuvenating any existing relationships. Either that or really throw all this energy into a creative endeavor of some sort, or in the event you have children, into your activities with them. It's a month to enjoy, so make it happen.
