Lunations and Long-term Aspects The solar eclipse component of the lunar eclipse on New Years Eve (or Day, depending on where you live) occurs on January 15. This one is a member of the same 12 North family of the Saros Series and thus has the same implications, which are to increase your responsibilities in some manner, perhaps due to someone no being able to do so. This is likely to be something you don't exactly prefer, but the rewards will come in helping you to stretch your capabilities and build self-confidence. Lunar eclipses usually affect us internally or on the emotional level where solar eclipses often bring events we had nothing to do with but still affect us. It's important to remember that whatever occurs has been evolving astrologically for a while and there are no coincidences. If your birthday is roughly between March 12 - 18 you will be affected more strongly. This New Moon/Solar Eclipse occurs in Capricorn, your 11th House of friends, groups, organizations, hopes, wishes and goals. This is where you interact with others with the implication with hopes, wishes and goals being there, also, that these are things that you cannot accomplish alone. If the classic meaning of this eclipse plays out, this suggests that you will acquire more responsibility through one of your organization or group ties. Venus is conjunct the eclipse Sun/Moon which could indicate the person handing off is a female or it could indicate a monetary award or benefit accompanying whatever it brings. The North Lunar Node is also in this same vicinity, which brings something new into your life. The Sun, Moon and Venus are all sextile quirky Uranus who's been hanging out in Pisces for quite a while now, slow mover that he is. If Uranus is contacting your natal Sun, which is the case for those of you born right around March 14, you are probably already experiencing a lot of surprises, disruptions, chaos and perhaps more than your usual inclination toward rebellion. Thus, these events are going to affect you personally, not just through some other means, such as your wallet. There's a lot of activity in Capricorn this month with Pluto, Mercury, the North Node, Sun, Moon and Venus there for the solar eclipse. This is a lot of diverse energy in your house of groups and goals. Pluto and Mercury, who's stationing direct, i.e. ready to come out of retrograde, are conjunct, suggesting information that has previously been hidden away will come to light. Since Mercury RX also pushes us to revise, review and reconsider as opposed to moving forward, in cahoots with Pluto this could bring out something previously missed that requires attention, the rectification of which will allow you to progress. Mercury and Pluto are both square Saturn, throwing more implications which include numerous possibilities. Saturn is in Libra, your 8th House of transformations, sex, death, shared resources, debt, inheritances, and so forth. This is where those experiences reside that change us, often in a profound manner. They are deep and lasting and help define who and what we are or will become. Saturn in that House implies that whatever comes along will represent a significant challenge. Saturn is about responsibility, obligations, restrictions, limitations, boundaries, authority and sometimes even karma, since he will see to it that you pay the price of your folly and mistakes. If you break the rules, whatever they may be, he will make sure you reap the consequences. In other words, if you've done something covert with respect to one of your group associations, it may be about to hit the fan. Of course you can also experience this vicariously, if someone did something that wasn't above board, meaning it could transform you in some manner such as making you aware that you're too trusting and changing how you view others from then on. There is also the possibility that this won't all come to light for several months since Saturn is retrograde between January 13 - May 30. While RX, Saturn does the majority of his work on the subconscious level, doing the groundwork to prepare you for restructuring after he goes direct. Another planet who may manifest from this eclipse is Mars, who's also doing the backstroke in Leo, you 6th House of work, health and service. Mars RX will flush out any unresolved issues that you may have swept under the rug rather than take appropriate action. Sometimes these issues dissolve, but other times they fester, mold, rot and build up a bit of a stink that eventually demands attention and clean-up. This could relate to something at work you've procrastinated as "unresolved" can also mean it was not completed. It could also be a health issue you're ignoring. Think about this part of your life and anything you left undone and you'll have a pretty good idea what Mars is trying to tell you. The Full Moon on January 30 is also in Leo and right on top of Mars, further emphasizing that unresolved issue so if you don't figure it out with the eclipse, this will probably do it. Jupiter has moved into Pisces and is interacting with Saturn and Pluto, which will have an interesting effect. Jupiter is typically looked upon as a benefic planet, since he tends to expand and inflate, but if this is something less than enchanting, which could be the case with Saturn and Pluto, then expansion is not a good thing. It appears that he is pushing for an adjustment or course change with that Saturn issue, described earlier. His presence in your 1st House could even imply that you'll be a bigger, more ethical individual when all is said and done. Pluto in your House of groups will also tend to eliminate any associations that are no longer useful. Maybe you've taken too much responsibility with something that is keeping you from more worthy activities and it's time to say "Bye-bye." At the time of the Full Moon there are numerous planets in Aquarius, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, inspiration, confinement, seclusion, institutions and hidden enemies, which is Pisces natural abode as the 12th House of the zodiac. The Sun, Venus, your Sign Ruler, Neptune, and the asteroid Chiron are all there, emphasizing this part of your life, which should actually be quite comfortable as this will bring energy and attention to those things you thrive on. Be sure to take time to feed your soul and take advantage of these transits, though you can expect that various annoyances are likely to come along and keep you from anything you really want to do. Always bear in mind that Pisces thrives on transcendence and if you neglect this part of your nature, it will increase your stress level and contribute to depression. You may also be inclined to seek escape through inappropriate means, such as drugs or alcohol, so address this need directly and with methods that strengthen you spiritually rather than making you dependent. Short-term Aspects January 4 - 5: Be on the lookout for something that needs to be redone or reconsidered with regard to something going on with your friends or a group you associate with. It could also relate to one of your goals, a relationship or possibly your finances. January 7 - 8: Once you discover what you've left undone or need to do differently, make the needed adjustments or course changes to take care of it. January 11: The potential is there for you to be looked upon very favorably by others today, so if you have something you need to do that requires a bunch of fans, this is the day to do it. Networking will be well-worth your time. January 13: Saturn goes retrograde today, starting those ruminations regarding something that is going to have a significant affect on you in the months to come. Watch for an unexpected opportunity to come your way from a friend or with regard to one or more of your goals. January 15: New Moon/Solar Eclipse as described above. Mercury also goes direct, allowing forward movement to proceed once again toward any goals or group projects. January 18: Venus enters Aquarius, which will bring the potential for increased contentment and also help you connect more easily with others. Jupiter enters your Sign on that same day, which will enhance your intuition and other psychic abilities. January 20: The Sun goes into Aquarius, bringing even more emphasis to your 12th House of spirituality. January 22 - 24: If you've been neglecting the spiritual side of your life and your need for transcendence, you are likely to recognize this today. If you've been limiting yourself through some self-defeating behavior, now is the time to commit to making some changes. January 25: Another good day for making adjustments or a course change to take care of those unresolved issues at work or with regard to your health. January 26 - 29: Inspiration on how to proceed with resolving that outstanding issue or finishing that unfinished project should be readily available today, so make the time to find a quiet place and listen. January 30: Full Moon today as described above. January 31: That Saturn - Pluto square is exact today. Think about anything or perhaps anyone who may no longer have a place in your life, including activities with organizations that may be consuming too much of your time. It's also a favorable time to take a good, hard look at your goals and make sure they're on the right track. Do you have a NEW Sun Sign? Find out with a Progressed Chart Report!
