This month on January 15 the companion solar eclipse to the lunar version that occurred on New Years Eve (or Day, depending on where you live) will come your way from Capricorn, hitting your 8th House of transformations, sex, death, shared resources, and debt. If your birthday is roughly between June 13 - 20 this is likely to be more noticeable and bring about a change of course or direction, though this is certainly possible for any Gemini. Like its counterpart last month, this one is a member of the 12 North family in the Saros Series, the meaning of which is to bring new responsibilities into your life, probably because someone else is no longer able to do so. While lunar eclipses typically have an internal or emotional effect, solar eclipses often bring events or circumstances our way the we did not precipitate. Rest assured, however, that the astrological wheels of fate have been turning for quite some time to bring this about; there are no coincidences.

Venus is conjunct the Sun/Moon pair, which should soften the effects in some way. Venus rules love and money and also can stand for a female in your life, so there's a possibility for one of those elements to show up in one way or another. Another eclipse aspect to think about is retrograde Mars in Leo, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and short journeys. Retrograde Mars works on unresolved issues, those things swept beneath the rug rather than take action. Most of these things don't go away of their own accord, so the Universe nudges us from time to time to clean up past messes. The Full Moon on January 30 occurs in Leo, further emphasizing those unresolved issues since the Moon in conjunct Mars. If your birthday is within a few days of May 29 - June 3, an opportunity is likely to present itself for you to resolve whatever it is in a way that will prove very advantageous. This is due to the fact that your natal sun will form a Triangle of Potential with the eclipse, putting you in the driver's seat to control the situation. Your 9th House is fairly heavy with planets at this time, which will throw a fair amount of energy toward such things as your beliefs and expectations, philosophy of life, higher learning, legal matters, cultural interactions, relocation or long-distance travel. Saturn RX is quincunx Jupiter, implying that a course change, possibly a big one, is due with regard to your career, reputation or status. Remember that Saturn is in your 5th House of ego and speculation, trying to get you to restructure something in that venue and is now saying that this also necessitates a change of course with your public image. This is likely to relate to your 5th House of ego, creativity, children, speculation and entertainment. Be on the lookout also for an opportunity that could appear to come from nowhere that affects your status or reputation.

January 15: New Moon/Solar Eclipse as described above. Your Sign Ruler, Mercury, also goes direct today, ending another one of his annoying retrograde cycles and allowing things to move forward once again with regard to those major transformations. This also gives the green light for purchasing such things as mechanical or electronic devices which tend to malfunction if acquired during Mercury RX.

January 18: Venus goes into Aquarius today, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, relocation and so forth, which will have a beneficial effect on anything you're pursuing in this area. Jupiter also enters Pisces, your 10th House of career and reputation, indicating that an expansive cycle that will last about a year has begun in this part of your life. Make the most of it.

January 20: The Sun goes into Aquarius, bringing further light and influence to your 9th House along with Venus. If you have anything under consideration or in-work in this part of your life, this will help move things along in a favorable way.

January 22 - 24: A lot of positive energy is flowing between your 5th House of creativity, ego, children, romance and such and your 9th which comprises your beliefs, higher learning, long-distance travel, cultural matters and so forth. January 31: Saturn squares Pluto today, a rather harsh aspect that will be in force on and off for several months due to the retrograde motion of the two planets. Give some serious thought to what Saturn is trying to tell you. You cannot lie to the planets since they have your number, so listen up. You don't have to figure it all out today, but the sooner you do the sooner you can take care of business and move forward. There's a fairly good chance that this has something to do with your ego, so give it some deep and honest thought.
