Lunations and Long Term Aspects

This month the companion solar eclipse to the lunar version that occurred on New Years Eve/Day takes place on January 15. This one occurs in Capricorn, your 10th House of status, reputation, public image and career. The Sun/Moon conjunction also includes Venus, which certainly won't hurt matters any since she rules both your houses of financial matters and relationships, i.e. your 2nd and 7th, respectively. While a lunar eclipse usually manifests itself on the emotional/internal level, a solar eclipse tends to be more external and influence events that you have not directly precipitated, yet will affect you in some way. This eclipse, like the one the first of the month, is also part of the 12 North family of the Saros Series and thus has the same general meaning which is to bring opportunities to accept greater responsibility, possibly due to the fact that another individual is unable to do so. The circumstances can be difficult, but the outcome is usually positive.

Since this eclipse occurs in your 10th House, it is most likely that this situation, should it be the case, will arise with respect to your career, though not necessarily. Remember that "status" incorporates just about every title or label you can imagine including such things as husband or wife, professor, home owner, officer in any type of organization, CEO, and so forth. Since this eclipse is occurring in fellow Cardinal Sign, Capricorn, it is square Aries and thus will have the most impact for those of you born between April 14 - 19.

There are five planets in Capricorn, including the North Lunar Node, putting even more emphasis on this part of your life. These include Pluto, who is busily digging up any dirty little secrets in this vicinity, Mercury retrograde, who is pushing you to reconsider or rethink something, the Lunar Node, who typically indicates something new coming into your life, the Sun/Moon pair shining a spotlight on things in general, and Venus who could relate to a relationship or your finances. All but Pluto and Mercury are sextile Uranus, planet of disruptions, the unexpected, surprises and rebellion, who's hanging out in your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, confinement, institutions, self-undoing and hidden enemies, implying that related events will have an affect on that part of your life as well.

Pluto and Mercury Retrograde and both squaring Saturn, also retrograde, in Libra, your 7th House of relationships. Saturn RX tends to work at restructuring something over the period of several months and the square with these other two indicate that this could come about due to something you need to look at very closely, perhaps again, in your 10th House, which was described above. Your Sign Ruler, Mars, is also retrograde in Leo, your 5th House of creativity, ego definition, children, entertainment and speculation. Mars RX works at resolving unfinished business, something you should have taken action on previously but didn't for some reason. Thus, these are all areas to take a good, hard look at with regard to this eclipse, the effects of which can manifest before the eclipse or linger on for several months following. It's also notable that there is a heavy emphasis on degrees ranging from 21:07 - 29:23, so if you have natal planets in these degrees it will also have a stronger influence.

The Full Moon on January 30 is in Leo, your 5th House as noted above, and is in very close conjunction with Mars. This will emphasize that issue that needs to be resolved and bring it to your attention if you've been happily oblivious to it previously. By this time that cluster of planets which includes the Sun, Venus, and Neptune, is in Aquarius, your 11th House of friends, organizations, group associations, goals, hopes and wishes, bringing substantial emphasis to this part of your life. Jupiter has moved into Pisces by this time, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, confinement and so forth, which will stir up various considerations in that part of your life, particularly since he is quincunx Saturn RX who's already trying to get you to restructure something with regard to your relationships and effect a change of course or adjustment of some sort.

Expect some annoying news or conversations with your coworkers, particularly the female ones, and also don't be too surprised if you find out one or more individuals have been doing their best to undermine you in some way, unless you've been busily sabotaging yourself. The good news for this lunation is that if your birthday falls roughly between March 28 - April 3 it will form a Triangle of Potential with your Natal Sun which will give you some leverage toward turning everything to your advantage in some way.

Short Term/Daily Aspects

January 4: Expect something to come to light that needs to be reworked in some way, probably with regard to your career or reputation.

January 5: A relationship with a person or perhaps your bank account needs some work or review. If you don't take care of business, you may wind up looking bad so don't ignore it.

January 7: It's time to change course or make some adjustments with regard to that unresolved issue which could relate to your ego expression, children, a speculative venture, or romantic partner.

January 8: If you're having issues with a child or romantic interest, more adjustments will be required again today. If this doesn't fit your situation, look at your speculative ventures. If you've been spending too much money in a foolish manner, it may be time to stop.

January 11: Emphasis today on love or money. Make it work for you and the most advantageous manner.

January 13: Watch for an unexpected opportunity that also relates to love or money. It should be obvious enough not to miss. Saturn goes retrograde today and thus starts the rumination process regarding one or more of your relationships.

January 15: New Moon/Solar Eclipse as described above. Mercury comes out of retrograde, making it okay again to purchase something mechanical or electronic if you so choose.

January 18: Venus goes into Aquarius, bringing her favor to your House of friends, associations, groups and goals. Jupiter goes into Pisces to start expanding your consciousness is some way or another.

January 20: The Sun enters Aquarius, further emphasizing your House of friends and so forth.

January 22: What is going on with your relationships these days? Is there someone from amongst your friends who is becoming closer or an existing relationship that needs to be redefined in some way? This is a good day to think about it and figure out what your strategy should be over the coming months.

January 24: More emphasis today on those relationships. Something is brewing in that area so give it serious thought.

January 25: A change of course due to news or thoughts related to your status or reputation and/or issues with your children or a speculative venture is called for today.

January 26: If you're dealing with a "cross-over" relationship, i.e. someone who was a friend becoming a lover or vice versa, expect some issues to arise today.

January 29: Whatever that cross-over relationship issue might be, more will come to light today. If the problem is more with your children, then expect something in that regard.

January 30: Full Moon as described above.

January 31: Retrograde Saturn square Pluto today, a rather heavy transit that will be in force for several months. Relationship and status issues will be emphasized for Aries which could include such things as marriage, divorce, a close relationships impacting your career, and so forth. Relationships in this context include not only your significant other but close friends and relatives, business partners, competitors and open foes.
