Gemini wit and worldly
knowledge, Cancer warmth and nurturing abilities. What will drive you crazy: Gemini hunger for learning, facts and references, Gemini plethora of activities and often not finishing what they start. Cancer lack of interest in intellectual matters, Gemini coolness/Cancer emotionalism. Ordinarily Cosmic next door neighbors don’t get along very well, but I think these two can be one of the exceptions. I say this based on the fact I knew a couple once from these Zodiacal persuasions where the guy was a Gemini and the gal was a Cancer, and they got along great. They didn’t always agree, but they accepted each other’s differences in a good-natured way and were very happy together. One thing that helps neighboring signs get along is when they have Mercury in the same sign, giving them similar communication styles. And as we know, that is the key to any relationship, being able to communicate. On the other hand, I knew a couple where the guy was the Cancer and the gal was a Gemini, which definitely reflected the friction noted above. She was all over the place with plans, ideas, and projects while he was more of a home-body, which isn't a surprise for Cancer as ruler of the 4th house of home environment. In writing these compatibility profiles I’m attempting to combine my knowledge of astrological sign personalities with practical experience. (NOTE:-- If you happened to read my Libra – Scorpio profile then you saw an example of a sign next door combination that in my experience didn’t work at all. This one is to balance that one out.) Here we have an Air and a Water sign hailing from the 3rd House of intellect and 4th House of home environment, respectively. Air and water aren’t necessarily a bad combination since bubbles can be quite entertaining. Water under pressure can cut steel, but that’s not what we have here. Hopefully, anyway. Air likes to talk a lot and Water likes to feel a lot. Not mutually exclusive by any means and often a good complementary relationship. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, master of data and communications, and Cancer by the Moon, which introduces moods into the equation. However, Crabs are usually basically good-natured and big-hearted, one of those into group hugs and kissing everyone hello, good-bye, etc. If they have an emotional meltdown for some reason, they might make a bit of a scene, but they’re not malicious as a rule. Of course they could be, given the right (or wrong, as the case may be) Ascendant or Moon sign, but this is not in the core nature of a Crab. Cancer is also a Cardinal sign, which is a nice match with Gemini’s Mutable (that’s MUTABLE not MUTATION). Gemini might have a slight tendency to bounce around a bit, and the Crab can lend some healthy stability to the relationship. On the other hand, the Gemini wit and multiple interests can be very enlightening and entertaining to the Crab. Conversely, their eyes could glaze over and it could drive them nuts, especially if they prefer a slow and steady pace that sees projects to completion, but this would be more of a function of the ascendant or Moon sign, especially if it were in an Earth sign. Thus, all the differences between these two can be complementary and very workable in the big scheme of things, but I think it has more potential for a male Twin and female Crab.
