Cancer the Crab and the Water Bearer. Sounds like a pretty good match, so long as the Crab isn’t hanging off the Water Bearer’s rear end with one of its claws. And this is exactly what this relationship could become if they’re not careful. As a Water sign ruled by the Moon, Cancer is really into emotions and feelings. Aquarius, on the other hand, is an Air sign that is really into talking and communicating with more emphasis on logic. These could well be complementary traits and establish good balance in the relationship. It all depends on what Cancer is getting emotional about.

Aquarius, to borrow a cliché, walks to the beat of a different drummer. Their beat is probably more along the lines of a rap of hip-hop song. They’re usually quite independent and being a Fixed sign, aren’t going to get over it or change anytime soon, at least no sooner than the next lifetime. These folks need group interaction and socializing, which the Crab doesn’t necessarily oppose, but the risk here is that the Crab will become very attached to everyone and all their problems and try to solve them and make it all better. Since Aquarians are always interested and involved in other people’s lives, the fact the Crab wants to help everyone introduces an interesting concept. Possibly these two could go on to do some profound universal good in the world helping others. Or perhaps they’ll get so involved in everyone else they’ll forget each other.

Remember that Aquarius resides in the natural 11^th House of groups, friends, hopes and wishes, while the Crab lives in the 4^th of home environment. Thus, if you’re not running some kind of halfway house or group home, there could be a conflict here. At any rate, the Crab needs to realize that their home is likely to be a hub of activity. Most Cancer types are very friendly and likeable, so this probably would not be a problem. Remember that female Crabs in particular tend toward being something along the lines of the Universal Earth Mother.

I guess the main point I’m trying to make is that this couple is probably going to bring numerous parties along with them to the relationship. The Water Bearer is going to be towing numerous friends and the Crab will probably have numerous family members, all of varying levels of dysfunctionality. So as long as these two realize that their lives are going to probably be deeply involved with many others besides the two of them, this could be a good match indeed.
