Return to Dead Horse Canyon: Grandfather Spirits

Book 2 of the Epic Triple-Award Winning Cross-Cultural Saga by Marcha Fox and Pete Risingsun

Review of Steven Forrest's "The Book Of Neptune"

"If you feel as if you've lost your footing, are sinking in quicksand or adrift on a large body of water with no land in sight, there's a good chance that Neptune is involved.
If that's the case, I can't recommend this book highly enough." --Whobeda
(Brings something new into your life)
(Ending, culmination, or shift to a new phase)
Date: 31 January 2022 Date: 16 February 2022
Position: 12:20 Aquarius (Strongest influence for those born ~5 September) Position: 28:00 Leo (Strongest influence for those born ~21 September)
Natural House: 6th Natural House: 12th
Influences of the 6th house include work, health, service, employees, and pets.  Expect something new to come your way in one of these areas, such as a new job or a new project at work that takes you in a slightly different direction or requires some sort of change.  It's an excellent time to work on your diet or fitness plan or see a healthcare professional if you haven't been feeling up to par.  A new pet could come into your life as well. Influences of the 12th include spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, the collective consciousness, your subconscious mind, seclusion, institutions, confinement, hidden enemies, and self-defeating behaviors. I often refer to this as the house of angels and demons for obvious reasons. A Full Moon could bring a culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life, but if it's at the subconscious level, don't expect it to be obvious. A favorable time to consider your spiritual health and your connection with your "source."

This month has two New Moons, at least as far as those of us in the U.S. Central Time Zone are concerned with the lunation occurring 1 February eastward of there. This will not be considered a second new moon officially since that is based upon Greenwich Mean Time. This lunation is 12:20 Aquarius while the last one was 12:20 Capricorn. Thus, those of you who may have a planet or luminary at that degree are getting a one-two punch of newness in two difference houses, especially if your birthday is 1 February. The lunation is conjunct Saturn with all three squaring Uranus, thus resisting change or creating conflict, while Venus and Mars trine Uranus pushing for the opposite along with a sextile from Jupiter in Pisces, which indicates an impressive opportunity for a revelation. In other words, Uranus is getting slammed with quite an energy mix of pros and cons. Mercury RX is conjunct Pluto and sextile Neptune, still rethinking and working with Pluto to perhaps dig out something previously missed or deliberately hidden. Jupiter, Mars, and Uranus are in a somewhat sloppy but viable sextile pattern, indicating positive energy that hints at a favorable surprise.

This month looks as if things are going to break loose in a variety of sectors after being stuck for what feels like forever. As a new year unfolds, let's hope that things will improve and as Mulder and Skully so famously declared, "The truth is out there."

When Mercury goes direct on 3 February we will, at long last, have all the planets in direct motion. This will hopefully eliminate that "stuck" feeling so many of us have felt for a while now.  As I set up this month's horoscopes I noticed how many goofs I had last month in the format.  That was due to having two New Moons with three instead of two lunations reported. In the 2nd New Moon (which is repeated here, since for some of you it occurred on 1 February as opposed to 31 January) there were plenty of goofs for the "Natural House" designation, which often repeated what it said for the first New Moon, but the description box was correct. I also forgot to eliminate the "Solar Eclipse" designation from the first New Moon for some, but not all, signs. <sigh> As someone with a Virgo ascendant ruled by Mercury, Mercury RX really does a number on my usually-more-accurate attention to detail. My apologies for any confusion it may have caused. As I write this month's, Mercury is still retrograde, but hopefully I won't be quite as goofy as January.

Mercury stations direct at 24:23 Capricorn, where he's conjunct Pluto and sextile the Pisces Moon. This brings that extra boost of Mercurial energy to those two. The influence on Pluto is likely to result in that planet spilling his guts with regard to what he's been digging up during the RX period. Pluto's rulership includes hidden corruption, power trips, and control, of which we've seen plenty the past few years. Mercury RX brings energy to rethink, reconsider, and often reveal past mistakes and flaws. Thus, don't be surprised if numerous things come out that have been previously covered up. With both planets in Capricorn, along with Venus and Mars, this data dump will relate to corporate and government entities, which are ruled by that sign.

The Sun and Saturn are conjunct in Aquarius, the sign that relates to the masses. This partile conjunction reflects what has been happening lately with people pushing back against the various mandates,  such as the worldwide trucker convoys, while corrupt world leaders and their failed policies are in the limelight. The sextile between Mercury and the Pisces Moon suggests the emotional element involved. When people realize they've been duped, their first reaction is seldom that of forgiveness.  Minor planet, Eris, is 23:44 Aries. Eris typically indicates discord and being semisextile the Moon shows that emotional energy is going to result in just that. Mercury is squaring Eris, further indicating the information he reveals is going to cause some issues.

Jupiter's sextile to Uranus suggests this is an opportunity for change while the Sun and Saturn squaring Uranus indicating that this will not come easily, but involve more of a fight. Mars and Venus are trining Uranus, however, so there's more positive energy for change than resistance, which is hopefully a favorable sign, though nothing is going to be handed over on a silver platter.

The Full Moon on 16 February should prove interesting, so say the least. The lunation is quincunx Pluto, the aspect that indicates the need for an adjustment or change of course. The Sun is semisextile Pluto, showing friction. Venus and Mars are in a very tight conjunction within 1 minute of arc of being exact. They're trining Uranus, but the orb is pretty wide, though their combined energy will no doubt still be felt. Mercury has entered Aquarius, which fits well for the voice of the people being heard. Jupiter sextile Uranus from Pisces is still encouraging peaceful change, but whether or not it will be is another story. Remember that a quincunx wields unstable energies and is as difficult to predict as anything involving Uranus, because you just don't know what other factors may be involved. Pluto is about transformational change, but which direction that will lean is not assured. Pluto is at the apex of a triangle of potential with the Lunar Nodes, so it's likely change will come, but any guarantees you'll like it are missing. Venus and Mars in Capricorn may not be favorable. Venus is the natural ruler of finances, money, wealth, and comfort. Unless you've been living under a rock, you've undoubtedly noticed issues in that department. Mars is exalted in Capricorn so action is likely with regard to finances, but as noted, Uranus isn't easy to predict. Remember that a trine does not necessarily indicate "good." All it shows is a strong, harmonious energy exchange. Remember that Capricorn is the sign that rules corporation and government as well as all authority figures. So it's really a matter of who Venus and Mars are really working for.

TWOSDAY, 2/22/2022

No doubt you've  noticed that we have a very special day coming up this month which has been playfully dubbed "Twosday." What a trip it will be for those born on that day! Of course numerologists are having a ball with it. So far, I have not delved into that part of it, but it's amusing that it is also, indeed, a Tuesday! What interests me, however, is that there is a very important astrological event coming up a few days before, easily another "Twosday," i.e. 2/20/2022. I don't know how much you know about planetary returns. You may have heard of solar returns, which is when the sun returns to its zodiacal location on your birth chart. These are important charts that provide a glimpse of what the coming year holds. When any planets returns to its natal location, it marks a conjunction and has an influence of the coming period. Sometimes with planetary returns, there are actually 3 of them due to retrograde motion. In that case, the last one is the one that remains in force until the next return.

Any parents out there may have noticed when their child hit the "terrible twos." That usually coincides with their first Mars return. Jupiter returns typically usher in adolescence and in some cultures the Saturn return, which occurs around 29-30 years, marks the true entry into responsible adulthood. I have noted for a long time, actually from before I learned anything about astrology, that by the age of 30 a person was usually either straightened out, in jail, or dead. Uranus returns don't come until around 84 years old and people don't live to see their Neptune or Pluto returns. HOWEVER, other entities do. And this February the USA has its first Pluto Return when using what is known as the U.S. Sibly Chart for 4 July 1776, or 246 years ago.

Perhaps you've heard that democracies tend to fail after 250 years. Hmmmmm. Sounds like more than a coincidence to me.

Note that this is the first Pluto return of 3 with the others on 11 July and 28 December of this year. Looking at all three charts in detail, including the progressed chart, is obviously far more than I'll include here. Watch for a blog that has all the details. That said, here's what the first Pluto return on 2/20/2022 has to say.

The first thing that pops off this chart is the fact that Eris, that troublemaker noted earlier, is at the top of the chart in the 10th house of status along with Chiron, the wounded healer. This does not bode well right there, but is certainly nothing new. Both are in Aries, showing this is not going to be peaceful, even though the Libra Moon is doing everything she can to mediate. She's opposing Eris from the sign that demands fairness and balance. She's in partile quincunx with Neptune in the 9th house, which indicates the need for a change of course or direction. The 9th house includes belief systems, including politics, as well as the courts, religious institutions, and the media. Neptune tends to be the cosmic surfactant that dissolves things. He's idealistic or deceptive or delusional or all sorts of other influences that are hard to define. This placement certain reflects the untrustworthy media. The Moon is in the 4th house of endings and new beginnings, which has implications as well. If nothing else, this quincunx between the Moon and Neptune reflects the general confusion amid the populace to say nothing of dissatisfaction with the courts as well as media, to say nothing of higher education.

Jupiter in Pisces along with the Sun are definitely contributing to Neptune's energy in gas-lighting champion, Pisces, though the Sun is in the 8th house of transformations, indicating the need for major change. The Moon trining Saturn in the 8th suggests the need for rebuilding in an intense, transformational manner. The busy Moon is squaring the three Capricorn planets, Venus, Mars, and Pluto. Mars and Venus are in the 6th house which represents the working class, farmers, army, labor unions, hospitals and health. Obviously, there have been plenty of health issues. Mars represents the military and this is their house, which reflects the health issues there, thanks to the vax mandates and the plethora of adverse effects. Venus is less than a half-degree away from Mars, with both sextile Neptune, which hints at a cover-up from the sleazy press (big surprise.)

Pluto represents secret societies, underground mineral resources, revolutionaries, political extremists in both directions and he's in the 7th house which in mundane astrology represents treaties and alliances. The question here is how much this relates to foreign countries and factions within our own, where a middle ground is next to impossible, which is reflected in the square from the Libra Moon.

Mercury is in the 7th, showing news in this area. The Mercury - Saturn midpoint continues to square Uranus, which has been the case for quite a while. Uranus is on the cusp of the 11th house which includes legislative bodies, associations, and the stock market. This could indicate resistance to change or a very difficult, unstable, chaotic disturbance in these areas.

Wuhan is in the 12th house, the house of hidden enemies (big surprise there, right?). Mercury is quincunx that insidious entity, suggesting a change of direction with that narrative. Perhaps the truth is coming out in that regard.

This is just a quick look at what's going on in the chart of the 1st Pluto return. It certainly reflects the state of the USA at this time, even if you look no further than the 10th house with Uranus, Eris, and Chiron. This nation is hurting along with numerous others. The fact this represents a Pluto return, which by definition is a conjunction between natal Pluto and transiting Pluto, the matters Pluto rules are beyond evident. In July, the 2nd return is via retrograde motion, which is likely to be the time when you see some serious dismantling, with the final return right after Christmas. Will the charts reveal more of what's coming? Possibly. Watch for a blog on what I see coming in the near future.
