FULL MOON The Full Moon on 13 September is in Pisces just up the zodiacal road a bit from its modern ruler, Neptune, which will give it a bit of a boost. Pisces is a dreamy, unrealistic and idealistic sign, so that's the type of energy to expect from this lunation. However, there is a whole bunch of planets in its polar sign, Virgo, including the Sun (of course), Mercury, Venus, and Mars. With Virgo's energy focused on detail, practicality, and accuracy, this will certainly negate some of that fantasy stuff. All is not lost, however, since Capricorn comes into the game, too, where Pluto is forming a Triangle of Potential with the lunation as well as Mars. Capricorn is a fellow Earth Sign and thus relatively compatible with Virgo and Cappy is fairly friendly toward Water signs (e.g. Pisces) so something from the past or eliminating anything that is frivolous or unnecessary could bring these opposing forces together in a favorable manner. In other words, anything that is blatantly unrealistic or unreasonable will have to go, but those elements that are possible can remain.A persistent T-square has been in effect for a while between Jupiter, Neptune, and Mars. It is being emphasized by the lunation, also, which reinforces the opposition between Mars and Neptune. The general interpretation of this is essentially the same as the lunation (big surprise) in that taking action on anything that is unrealistic is going to encounter resistance. Jupiter's role in all this is to expand and exaggerate both sides. In other words, Neptune is being too "out there" while Mars in Virgo is being too picky. So both of these need to get a grip, recognize their excesses, and be reasonable. This will present a challenge, but when a challenge is met head-on with a can-do attitude, often it can be met with growth and progress the result. NEW MOON The New Moon on 28 September is in Libra and in a partile (same degree) quincunx with Uranus in Taurus. A quincunx connects planets in two signs that have nothing in common by element or modality, indicating adjustments or a change of course will be required because there is no common ground. Uranus being a trouble maker by nature, will thus stir up a few things that could involve relationships. I'm still figuring out Uranus in Taurus and how that stable Earth Sign might dampen some of his effects, unlike when he was in Aries, which undoubtedly lit his fuse on more than one occasion. One thing that comes to mind is someone being unexpectedly practical or stubborn about an issue. Be on the lookout for someone to act entirely differently than expected. With Venus and Neptune in a quincunx as well, this also points to relationships and the possibility for misunderstandings or someone being too dreamy, undependable, or even devious. A quincunx can also bring a Catch-22, where you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Sounds like business as usual in most relationships, actually, dontcha think? This is further exacerbated by squares between Mercury and Pluto as well as Venus and Saturn. This implies that communications with anyone in authority or control will be difficult with the past possibly being an issue as well, particularly some old unresolved issue. The T-square mentioned for the Full Moon has dissipated, but the square between Jupiter and Neptune remains, exaggerating any fantasies and understandings. However, since that entourage of planets has now entered Libra, his sextile with Venus in dignity in Libra opens the way for peaceful negotiations, so long as both parties are willing to accept some sort of compromise. OTHER COSMIC INFLUENCESSATURN STATIONS DIRECTSaturn stations direct on 18 September. This should be good news since when retrograde things tend to move even slower than usual with boundaries and obstacles emphasized. If nothing else, those who work in corporate and government positions seem to be moving in slow motion, making any dealings with them painful as you wait and wait for movement to occur. With Saturn being trined by the Moon in Taurus, emotional satisfaction is suggested as thing start to move again. Pluto is trining both the Sun and mars in Virgo for the station, so their energy is favorable for a practical resolution on past issues as well. Mars squaring Jupiter implies not to move too fast, however, and make sure all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed. In fact, Mars has stepped into a position to bring back that annoying T-square with Jupiter and Neptune. Since Mars is all about taking action, this suggests not taking action on something that is unclear or exaggerated. Conversely, since Mars is in Virgo, waiting until everything is perfect in order to move forward can be a mistake as well. Sometimes the best solution doesn't make itself known until you get to the point where it matters. This is not to say that planning ahead isn't advised, but sometimes there isn't enough information to make a clear decision until later in the game. Venus and Mercury are conjunct in Libra, a nice, logical Air sign, which bodes nicely for conversations. The quincunx to good ol' Uranus, however, suggests that sudden changes or complications may arise. EQUINOX/LIBRA INGRESS The Sun goes into Libra on 23 September. As most of you already probably know, that is also the equinox and the beginning of a new season, i.e. autumn in the northern hemisphere and spring in the southern. It's also when the Sun crosses the equator and heads for a southern declination. The solstices occur when the Sun hits either the Tropic of Cancer or Capricorn. These are big-deal cosmic events that mark the seasons. The chart for these ingresses also tends to define much of what to expect in the months ahead, particularly for weather prediction and socio-political matters. This chart is rather busy, suggesting an active time ahead, especially since many of the aspects are courtesy of the Moon, which rules function and thus triggers events. With the Moon in Cancer, this suggests an emotional element, which clashes with Libra's logic via a square between the Moon and both Mercury and Venus in that sign. Changes of direction will be required, which could be larger than expected. It's important to scrutinize the data upon which you're basing a decision because Neptune and Jupiter are still at it, causing huge deceptions or confusion with the Moon's emotional element making this even more volatile. Some decisions need to be made with your head and some with your heart, but be sure to at least consider the outcome. There is also a difference between your emotions and intuition, so make sure you can recognize that as well. Pluto and Saturn are both opposing the Moon, trying to bring some balance between raw practicality and emotional demands, so pay attention and accept their help, which might be crucial to a positive result. Mars trining Pluto with both in Earth signs suggests practical action to resolve old issues or perhaps be slammed into place by someone in power. A Water Sign Moon implies the potential for a lot of precipitation, which I, for one, will welcome, though those of you in states where that means snow may not be so pleased at the prospect.
