FULL MOON

The Full Moon on the 5th this month in Aries suggests the need to deal with the past. This could indicate the need to resolve old issues which have been swept under the rub, eliminating something you no longer need, taking control of a situation you've been ignoring, or engaging in a power struggle of some description. This will involve getting the facts straight, particularly with regard to relationships. Venus and Mars are in near exact conjunction at this time, which would be worth going outside to observe in the morning sky as the rise slightly before dawn. Gazing upon the visible planets while pondering their message can be a profound experience. No relationship is ever perfect, one of the biggest stumbling blocks that of expectations. This is true for personal relationships as well as those that involve business. What you expect from someone else in return may be far removed from their intentions. As the Sun transits Libra, the sign that rules relationships, there is no better time to work on such things.

Mercury is facilitating communications that are fair and balanced which will come in handy as each of you express your own wants and needs. Listen with your heart as well as your head, avoid being defensive, and be aware of the need to give as well as take, with what you give more effective if it's what the other person wants or expects. The other's expectations could be unrealistic, however, so this is where negotiations and balance become essential to a peaceful resolution. What you want may not be what you get; remember that people in hell want ice water, too. This is the true test of love as opposed to compatibility. It's possible to love someone deeply, yet be unable or unwilling at a personal level to deliver what they want. Giving until it hurts may be good for the soul, but can ultimately destroy a relationship if there is inadequate reciprocation. It's also important to remember that you're solely responsible for your own happiness, which is just as important as anyone else's. If a person is dependent on you and you alone to make them happy, they are the one with a problem, not you.

Jupiter is still in Libra, but not for much longer. He goes into Scorpio on 10th or 11th, depending where you live. For this lunation he's still in Libra, however, so the emphasis is still on relationships with his expansive nature possibly contributing to inflated expectations. Letting these go entirely may be impossible, so a compromise will be required, the lack of which may call for a breakup. This is where in-depth conversations and mutual understanding will be essential for a change of course, as required.

NEW MOON

The New Moon on 19 October further emphasizes the potential for a possibly abrupt change. Venus has gone into Libra where she is in dignity, and thus encouraging kindness and being receptive to relationship issues. This could be a time for a new start, though it could go in either direction. The lunation includes a course adjustment loop, sometimes called a learning triangle, which often indicates a situation where the status quo is not effective and requires adjustment. This looks like responsibilities will be the point that requires some changes. Mercury and Jupiter are conjunct in sexy Scorpio, so if this is a romantic relationship sex is likely to be at the top of the agenda. It may even seem the solution, which could be true in some cases. Nonetheless, there are several planets that are unaspected, making them strong and independent in their various venues. Control issues, being unrealistic or even idealistic could contribute to the discussion. A certain amount of rebellion and discord as each asserts their wants and needs is to be expected, the resolution of which likely to drive the outcome which will need the situation to change, perhaps dramatically.

OTHER COSMIC EVENTS

Last month was loaded with stations plus the Libra ingress, but this month is relatively quiet. Jupiter goes into Scorpio, as noted earlier, which is the most notable event. Jupiter remains in each sign for approximately a year so he'll be there until November 2018 when he'll go into Sagittarius. Scorpio is already a passionate and potentially excessive, think OCD, sign, so having that exaggerated by Jupiter's presence makes for some interesting developments. The good news is that once he leaves Libra, he's no longer in that obnoxious opposition to Uranus in Aries, which has been stirring things up royally. The New Moon this month will lend it some energy with Saturn trining Uranus coming into orb this month.

Saturn hasn't been particularly comfortable in philosophical Sagittarius. Saturn is more conservative and traditional while Sagittarius is a Mutable Fire sign that tends to stir things up a bit, intellectually if nothing else, bringing new ideas and paradigms to bear, challenging the status quo. This hassle has been going on since December 2014, when Saturn first entered that sign. He'll go into Capricorn this December, showing he spends roughly three years in a given sign, which is long enough to effect some restructuring and rebuilding. As Saturn trines Uranus the next month or so you can expect to see some changes, perhaps big and sudden ones, regarding things that have been brewing for some time. Those of you with your Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Sagittarius will probably feel some relief when this wet blanket of a planet moves on. Since Saturn rules Capricorn, he'll be in dignity there and much more comfortable. Hopefully, those of us with planets in Capricorn will fare a bit better with this familiar energy. however, Saturn energy has a rather bad reputation. Think back roughly 30 years to what was going on in your life back in 1988 or so for some clue what may be coming your way. It should be interesting with Saturn and Pluto, two malefics, in Capricorn, the sign that rules such things as government and corporations. Saturn is all about rebuilding, as previously noted, while Pluto is about power, control, and exposing corruption. There are all sorts of possibilities with that.
