Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

The first cosmic event this month of many is Venus stationing direct on September 6.  This should improve things a bit, which have been pretty messed up for the past month or so.  I don't know about you, but it seems as if nothing has gone right the first time or with ease.  As someone who has Mars in Virgo on my ascendant, I definitely don't like it when things don't work the way they should.  That is definitely not a placement conducive to patience.  So Venus stations direct in Leo, your 12th house of angels and demons, i.e. spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, visions, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  She's been hanging out there with Mars, a combination which of course has relationship implications as well.  Venus RX periods are a time to think about what you value and are willing to fight for.  Once direct it should become apparent how this applies.  Releasing old issues that could be related to former relationships and romantic endeavors is possible as well.  Ultimately a change of direction could result.

The New Moon on September 13 is a Solar Eclipse, giving it additional influence.  This occurs in your sign and on your natal Sun if your birthday is that day, give or take a day.  This will also be part of your solar return, meaning it will be with you for the coming year.  A sudden change of direction is possible which is likely to relate to whatever Venus was up to in your behalf.  Jupiter is in your sign and while he is often seen as lucky, this is not necessarily the case.  I see him as mostly neutral, like your sign ruler, Mercury, and simply exaggerates what he touches for good or ill.  He's opposing Neptune in your 7th house of relationships which suggests you could be over-critical of someone without knowing all the facts.  Jupiter in your sign can bring out your best and worst traits.  You may be even more meticulous and detail-oriented which could easily descent into the law of diminishing returns or drive those around you crazy.  This is particularly true for those of you born August 31. In case you're wondering, which you probably are, knowing Virgos, this eclipse is only visible in the southern-most tip of Africa and across a wide swath of Antarctica.  Furthermore, it's also annular, meaning the Moon is too far away to entirely cover the Sun. 

Your sign ruler, Mercury, stations retrograde on September 17 in Libra, your 2nd house of income, possessions, needs, comforts and pleasures.  Virgos always notice Mercury RX more than others between it being your sign ruler plus your preference for perfection.  As always, avoid buying anything mechanical or electronic at this time.  This is a time to rethink and reconsider which is likely to specifically apply to your 2nd house.  Breaking free from debt is probably something you've been thinking about with Uranus in your 8th which includes that as well as shared resources, death and rebirth, things you suppress, and intense experiences.  However, Mercury RX in your house of income and such may bring up additional issues for consideration. 

The Sun enters Libra on September 23, marking the autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and vernal equinox in the Southern Hemisphere and thus the start of a new season.  When the Sun enters a Cardinal sign it always denotes the next season which can bring other changes as well, especially on the mundane and weather scenes.  By this time Saturn has gone into Sagittarius, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings which can help you get organized and ambitious around the home and with any projects, either to finish them up or get started on a new one, though you should wait until Mercury goes direct to start anything new.  The next few months should bring some flashes of inspiration that relate to your beliefs and expectations as well as your money and what you need.

Pluto stations direct on September 25 in fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 5th house of children, creativity, ego definition, romance, speculation and entertainment.  This will have extra influence for those of you born right around September 5.  Dealing with old issues is favored, possibly as the result of a challenge.  Mars has entered Virgo, which will give you plenty of energy and not much patience, but expect obstacles to getting started.

The Full Moon on September 27 is in Aries, your 8th house of transformations and such as defined earlier.  This lunation is also an eclipse though of the lunar variety.  Lunar eclipses typically manifest at the emotional level.  Being overwhelmed is possible with too many things to do, but this could be the result of confusion regarding what's expected by someone close to you.  Mercury is still retrograde in your money house so keep rethinking and reconsidering any plans you have no matter how much you're chomping at the bit to get moving on it.  Projects started under Mercury RX seldom work out or at the least required major reworking before they can succeed.
