Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

The first cosmic event of many to report this month is Venus stationing direct on September 6.  Her retrograde trek occurred mostly in fellow Fixed sign, Leo, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status.  Her message in its simplest form usually relates to figuring out what you truly value and perhaps are willing to even fight for.  Venus rules your 12th house of spirituality and the subconscious mind as well as your 7th house of close relationships, which are likely to also be involved at some level.  For much of the time she shared Leo with Mars, giving more relationship connotations to the transit, especially since she initially passed Mars, then stationed RX and came back, passed him going the other way, and then will be conjunct with him the last few days of August and the first week or so of September.  Venus is the natural ruler of love and money as well as those things you need or bring comfort so at the least ask yourself whether you're happy with the status quo in those departments, what's most important, and what you need to do to acquire them.  A change of direction is implies and could relate somehow to your goals or social circles. 

The New Moon on September 13 is a Solar Eclipse which gives it considerably more power and influence.  If your birthday is right around November 13 watch for something notable to occur with regard to your goals, friends or networking efforts.  Surprises at work could be involved and bring about a change of direction.  This could be directly related to Venus' message and the need to transform your thinking.  Mercury in Libra is assisting at the subconscious level but you may not like the message and hesitate to make the necessary break or seek an innovative solution to challenges there. 

On September 17 Mercury stations retrograde which is likely to bring any progress to a halt.  If you're missing or resisting something you need to take action on, this should help you figure it out.  Remember that Mercury RX is a time to avoid buying anything mechanical or electronic.  It's a time to rethink, revise, reconsider, review and rework so if you're resisting something going on in the workplace, with your health or service activities then you need to go back to the proverbial drawing board.  Jupiter in your 11th house of goals can have an expansive effect but you need to balance any inspiration with appropriate details grounded in realism. 

The Sun enters Libra on September 23 marking the autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and vernal equinox in the Southern.  This of course brings the end of summer and a new season for which the ingress chart represents what that quarter will bring.  It's particularly important for mundane and geo-political astrology as well as weather prediction.  Implications with Mercury RX in that chart are that there may not be much progress during that time.  Saturn has at long last left your sign and gone back into Sagittarius, your 2nd house of income, possessions, comforts, needs and pleasures.  This, of course, is the house where Venus-ruled matters reside so her retrograde gig applies.  Saturn is all about discipline, responsibility and ambition, so expect some emphasis in these areas over the next two years.  The ingress Sun is sextile Saturn, suggesting an opportunity to work on these issues at the subconscious level.

Your modern sign ruler, Pluto, stations direct on September 25.  This helps access matters that have been hidden previously so you can deal with them openly.  Expansion of your goals and taking action is favored other than the fact that Mercury is still retrograde, so this is likely to be more related to redefining where you want to go and how as opposed to actually making progress.  Your traditional sign ruler, Mars, is butting up against Saturn with a square which implies a goal may have financial issues attached.  Innovation and charm look like possible approaches for resolution. 

The Full Moon on September 27 is in Aries, your 6th house of work, health and pets, and is another eclipse, but of the lunar variety.  These tend to have more emotional impact while the solar version leans more toward events and situations.  According to eclipse guru and master astrologer, Bernadette Brady, this eclipse family is a bit stressful and may require a substantial amount of effort.  If your birthday is right around October 28 watch for a change of direction with regard to some 6th house issue which will present a challenge, either mentally, emotionally or physically.  The effort could be well worthwhile, however, since the eclipse trines Saturn.  This looks like it could be a spell of hard work with a reward at the end.
