Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

This is a busy month astrologically with two Full Moons, the usual New Moon, of course, plus Venus and Uranus stationing retrograde.  The Full Moon on July 1 is in Capricorn, your 8th house of transformations, death and rebirth, debt, intense experiences, shared resources and things you suppress.  This process is already being promoted by Pluto's presence in that sign but hopefully this lunation will indicate the ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this area.  Debt is also include so perhaps you'll pay off one of your debts, which is always nice.  The Sun is in Cancer, your 2nd house of income, finances, possessions, comforts, needs and pleasures, highlighting that part of your life which is likely to relate to the Full Moon in some way,  Perhaps you worked a lot of overtime or got a bonus and used the money to pay something off, for example.  Mars in Cancer suggests ambition and drive with regard your that house and will be there until the second week of August.

Neptune is mitigating the lunation from his position in Pisces where he's in dignity as its ruler.  This is your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status.  This suggests that inspiration or imagination related to this part of your life could play a part in this lunation as well.  If your birthday is right around May 31 you are most likely to feel these effects.

A nice sextile pattern is gracing this lunation as well which includes Mercury in your sign where he's dignified as its ruler.  He's been in your sign much longer than usual due to his retrograde gig in the May - June timeframe but will be gone by July 9.  For the sake of this lunation he's conjunct your natal Sun if your birthday is right around June 11, bringing you the full benefit of this aspect pattern which tends to bring a bit of luck.  This is likely to take you by surprise, may come through a friend, and possibly relate to your goals.  Jupiter and Venus, both benefic planets, are in Leo, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel, and also part of this pattern.  This suggests a grand idea coming your way which could relate to the lunation in some way, such as some clever plan to rearrange your finances or budget in your favor.

The New Moon on July 15 occurs in Cancer as well, suggesting something new coming your way with your finances and more than likely follows what the Full Moon effected.  Something may take you by surprise at this time that presents a challenge, either financially or as a group-related activity that interferes with your leisure time.  Your sign ruler, Mercury, is in that house conjunct Mars so taking action on an idea is favored.  This conjunction opposes Pluto in the 8th, however, so taking moving forward is going to require rearranging a few things first.  Jupiter and Venus are still in your house of thoughts and ideas, however, so might be able to assist again with some innovative or creative means around it, though work obligations may complicate things a bit.

Venus stations retrograde on July 25 shortly after she sets her figurative cosmic foot into Virgo, the sign she dislikes more than any other since it's the sign of her fall.  Her energy and that of Virgo simply don't get along very well and I had to smile when it reminded me of someone stepping into cold water and rethinking their intent.  Virgo is your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings.  Venus rules your 5th house of creativity, ego definition, children, romance, entertainment and speculation as well as your 12th house of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, visions, institutions, seclusion, confinement, your subconscious mind, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  This implies that you may rethink something you were getting ready to do in one of these areas.  Venus is the natural ruler of love and money as well which suggests some sort of reversal of your own doing or otherwise in those areas.  It looks like something will get in the way of your intent, perhaps your work which requires too much time and effort to pursue anything else at this time.  Putting your heart into your work, however, is probably the best solution.  Mars trooping along through your 2nd house can often bring breakdowns of such things as appliances, automobiles and so forth.  Be particularly careful around fires.  Mars likes Cancer about as much as Venus likes Virgo with this placement one that reminds me of a temper tantrum.  Figurative attacks on your checkbook could be related to friends, group activities or even your goals.

The next day on July 26 Uranus stations retrograde in Aries, your 11th house of friends, groups, networking, goals, hopes and wishes.  Uranus is unpredictable by nature and becomes even more erratic when retrograde.  Things may get even more complicated with regard to executing that idea and your feelings about work may be less than joyful at this time.  Those of you born June 12 may find an opportunity in there somewhere however, so maintain your optimism and approach it with your usual strong logic.

The Full Moon on July 31 is in Aquarius, a fellow Air Sign, and forming a nice aspect with your natal Sun if your birthday is right around May 29.  Aquarius is your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, long-distance travel and philosophy of life a.k.a. attitude.  The challenges are still out there but it looks as if favorable financial news may hail from work.  If a group, friends or goals are part of the picture they may bring some helpful ideas as well.
