Lunations and Other Cosmic Events

This is a busy month astrologically, even more so for you as the Sun continues his trek through your sign.  If you haven't already had your solar return, you will, soon, which begins another new cycle.  If you've never gotten a solar return report there's no time like the present, especially if you'd like a bit of a roadmap for the year ahead.  You can find them in our online store.  There are two Full Moons this month, a New Moon, of course, plus Venus and Uranus station retrograde.  Luckily for you those won't occur in your solar return since by then the Sun has gone into Leo.

The Full Moon on July 1 is in your polar sign, Capricorn, your 7th house of close relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, business professionals, competitors and open enemies.  This suggests an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase as far as someone of one or more of those descriptions is concerned.  If this is your birthday, then this lunation will follow you all year.  Fortunately, there are some favorable aspects attached to it.  The lunation is mitigated somewhat by Neptune in fellow water sign, Pisces, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation.  This suggests that one of these matters, most likely your attitude and beliefs, can help ride out any relationship issues.  Being philosophical is usually as good as any method to get through any rough spots with the people in your life.  However, with Pluto in your 7th house, things can get rather intense.  During this long-term transit, you are likely to encounter a few power struggles and find that at least a few individuals are eliminated from your life.  If your birthday is right around July 7 this is particularly relevant. 

Those of you born around June 27 have Mars sitting on your natal Sun which may make you more aggressive than usual.  I usually think of Mars in Cancer, the sign of his fall, as a temper tantrum waiting to happen.  Again, a philosophical approach with a touch of compassion is recommended.  There's a nice sextile pattern associated with this lunation which you may find useful. This looks as if a inspired idea could bring unexpected yet helpful insights with regard to your income and career.  Give it some consideration and put it to good use.

The New Moon on the 15th is in your sign and conjunct your natal Sun if that's your birthday.  As you begin a new cycle, watch for something new to come into your life.  Mars and Mercury are conjunct in your sign which could make you a bit quicker to speak your mind or perhaps lose your temper.  Expressing your opinion will be easier as well, but make sure you have your facts straight and do so in a tactful manner.  Jupiter and Venus, two benefic planets, are still in Leo, your 2nd house of income, possession, finances, comforts, needs and pleasures, which should bring some good things your way in that regard, possibly taking you by surprise, but you may have to work for it a bit to make it happen.  Saturn is retrograde in your 5th house of creativity, children, romance, ego definition, entertainment and speculation which suggests some rebuilding or restructuring in that area which could have a negative impact on your finances or time to yourself.  Take a look at anything that fits that description and figure out what you can do to manage the issue before it becomes a problem.

Venus stations retrograde on July 25 shortly after she sets foot in Virgo.  I find this somewhat amusing in an astrological sense since that is the sign of her fall so it's like she stepped into cold water and decided not to go in just yet.  As the natural ruler of love and money, Venus RX can bring some reversals in those areas.  She rules your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings as well as your 11th house of friends, groups, networking, hopes, goals and wishes so these could be involved as well.  She and Jupiter have been putting on a lovely show around sunset which will continue a while longer.  At a certain point during her retrograde cycles, however, which only occurs every two years or so, she will no longer be the evening star, seen as the goddess of love, as she disappears behind the Sun's rays.  She'll eventually come out on the other side and become the morning star, seen by numerous ancient civilizations as the goddess of war, certainly the antithesis of love.  This can be a time when you decide to put on your armor and go after what you want.  It's also a time when a public figure or two might fall from grace.  Those of you born around July 13 should watch your back.

The next day on July 26 Uranus stations retrograde, which could bring a few more surprises.  He's unpredictable by nature and even more so when retrograde when he's even more erratic.  Continue to hang onto your wallet since unexpected expenses, perhaps big ones, could come your way, especially if you have children.  This could simply imply that back to school expenses will be higher than expected or some other 5th house issue from entertainment to an old speculation may take a bigger than anticipated bite.

The Full Moon on July 31 is in Aquarius, your 8th house of transformations, intense experiences, debt, shared resources, death and regeneration and things you suppress.  Your attitude toward money may change a bit at this time as you continue to deal with any financial issues but take a more active approach.  This is a time when it's best to watch your discretionary spending just in case something comes along.
